Guests have said they we're surprised by the country location how safe, secluded and peaceful it is all while being convenient to so much. There's a creek along one side of the property. We see deer most days, see & hear Red Shouldered, Broad Wing, Red Tail hawk, Barn Owls, and Barred owls.
**Generators - whisper quiet and on-board only. Quiet hours 8pm-8am**
We have room in our trash for a kitchen sized trash bag. We also have a large recycling can you can use, there's a big sticker on the lid that lists what can and can't go in it. There is a small can next to it for crushed aluminum cans, we give them to the Fire Department.
Local information - We have an information mailbox that has tons of local flyers, brochures, things to do magazines, state maps and more. You can keep anything that there is more than one of. If there is only one of something please ask I may have another copy. There is a Planet Fitness 1 mile away and I'm told the showers there are clean, have lots of hot water and are very spacious with a changing area in them. Within a few miles there are 7 grocery stores - Aldi, Lidl, Walmart, Target, Food Lion, Publix, World Market; Local restaurants, fast food, Lowe's, Home Depot, Tractor Supply Co (best place I've found to refill Propane), Hobby Lobby and tons of other places to go. Multiple gas stations with diesel. Places to visit are Lake Murray 3.5 miles away with a walking path over the damn, public boat launches ~6 miles away, Saluda Shoals Park, Riverbanks Botanical Garden, Riverbanks Zoo & Garden, Columbia Canal and Riverfront Park, South Carolina State Museum, The Congaree National Park with the Harry Hampton Visitor Center, worlds largest fire hydrant...
Pets - Please clean up after your pet. Your welcome to let you pets off leash while here, be aware our property is not fenced. Our Border Collies do great with other dogs and kids, they don't jump or steal food. At first PLEASE DO NOT throw whatever is brought to you. He doesn't know when to stop and gets overheated. Cats that stay inside are ok, sometimes he growls at cats (he's hasn't meet one or learned about them yet). We think he thinks they're squirrels. If you have an in/outside cat we'll have to coordinate outside time since he doesn't know how to behave with cats and I don't want you or your cat getting hurt. I patrol my yard regularly and I have a gray mailbox mounted vertically with flags for guests to mark any of my dog's landmines that I have missed and any other hazards you find. If you have a issue with the chance of coming across a doggie landmine please do not reserve a spot with me.
Misc. Info - There are a half dozen places to dump tanks near by. The 2 that I've been to but never dumped at are Love's truck stop 11 miles away at 340 Longs Pond Rd, Lexington, SC 29073. 2nd is Barnyard campground ~5 miles away at 201 Oak Dr., Lexington, SC 29073. I think they're both $10.
It's ok if you spend nights away while you rig stays here, it's also ok to have guests come visit you here. Feel free to have packages delivered while you're here or ahead of time so they'll be here when you get here.
Would love suggestions on for improvements. Currently planning a guest shower. If you would like a long stay we can have a port-a-john delivered.

South Carolina’s Best Stay Ever!
Mark is super knowledgeable and helpful. Pick his brain about anything and he has the info. He hosts to share the experience of the area. It feels like the country while being in the city. Checkout the creek in the back. There were 3 families camping at one point while we stayed and we had a lovely community fire together. I’m positive if you ask, Mark will gladly provide you firewood. I hope to visit again not only for the great company but to see what he does with the property as he has many plans.

Mark is an amazing host! The spot we camped in was huge and we were really able to spread out and set up our whole kitchen, bath and changing room in addition to our 3 room tent! We had a fire pit and he had plenty of firewood for us! He is so kind and accommodating. We were able to plug in to blow up our mattresses and charge our electronics. We had easy access to water and there is a shelter area with a picnic table there. He was super sweet and brought over a canopy for us to use when we were cooking in the rain! It is a beautiful area and we were able to enjoy the beautiful trees changing color and the babbling brook behind us. He has two amazing dogs that are so well behaved and fun! We really enjoyed them. We really felt safe and secure here too! I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it!! Best camping ever!

It was the perfect place for us to camp while visiting our daughter, who lives in Columbia. We will definitely be back again!

Mark was a great host!
When my message didn't send that I would be running late he checked in which was really sweet. Once I got there it was dark and he lights on for me to set up camp.
The property was peaceful, quiet, safe, very clean and in a perfect location.
Honestly it was such a blessing to find a place like that for the price.

Memorial Day Weekend
Mark is an excellent host who goes beyond to provide a nice stay. Spot was level. We had access to water and 120 voltage power. We used our inverter generator to run our AC. Remy, his dog, came to share his toys daily. He got along well with our dog as well.
Marks place is quiet but close to everything you need.

Car camping on Mark’s property was exactly what we hoped for- peace and quiet and remote enough we could run our hybrid for air conditioning without bothering anyone! Mark had a fire going to greet us, along with his super friendly dog Remy. Great location!

Quiet Hideaway Camping Spot
Loved the quiet, private little hideaway in the woods, yet in the middle of the city. The stream was lovely to sit by with coffee in the morning and the owls were talking! We thoroughly enjoyed it!
