Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
This is our favorite place in the world, and we would like to share it with you. This 3 acre piece of land (you will be the only campers here) offers you privacy, amazing marsh views, and easy access (only a five minutes) to the Edisto beaches. Filled with massive pines and live oaks festooned with Spanish moss, the Edisto Marsh Retreat has the feel of a national park. Wake in the morning to the sound of birds and enjoy relaxing evenings around the fire as you watch the light slowly fade over the tidal creek and marshland. You will love it here. This is the one and only campsite on the property, so feel free to spread out! There is a large (60'x60') dirt pad that we usually park our camper on but feel free to pull in or pitch your tent anywhere. This is all your space while you are here, so set up your hammock and make yourself at home!!!

The One and Only Site!
Comfortable camping convenience!
Had a nice marsh view, nice fire pit, we could see the stars, and had a nice wide open camp site with room to run around. Thanks Tom!

The One and Only Site!
Beautiful secluded site. Amazing view of sunset through the trees. Site is quiet and overlooks a marsh. Love this place

The One and Only Site!
Absolutely gorgeous location right on the edge of the marsh. It’s so peaceful and beautiful. Definitely primitive, definitely buggy.
We had no problem getting our 32-foot class A + tow dolly in. High trees and branches, wide enough drive, just bumpy. I feel like anything bigger may have a more difficult time.
BE AWARE - this is a sand site. We were totally fine getting in and getting parked. Getting out is another story. There’s a reason there’s a rake on site (bless you, hosts - thank you). We spent at least 30-45 mins trying to get out of the sand. We had to pull together some boards for the wheels and eventually got out, but it was quite the feat. I’m not sure we will do a sand site again for this reason.
Other than the sandy area, we really enjoyed our stay! This was one of our favorite Hipcamps, despite getting stuck!

Quite spot. Plenty of fire wood. Only suggestion would be a picnic table.

This was by far the best Hipcamp experience we’ve ever had! Beautiful property and so close to the beach! We will be back!

Amazing Location!
Loved the location! Close to everything. Very private. Bugs did eat us alive to the point we left early but that was our fault. We used a tent to camp, if we ever came back to this property we would use a camper for sure. Fire pit was not so much a pit as just a circle of rocks but it worked. Every now and then boaters wild come by and wave. List of shade and my kids loved seeing all the crabs in the marsh.
