Black Bear Farm

We loved camping at the property. We camped in a Roof Top Tent and the area where we parked was very flat and open. Jason had a nice fire pit at the site, although we never got to use it due to exploring the area all day. Other campers were quiet and courteous. We would go back next time we head to Greenville/Traveler’s Rest area!

Upon arriving you can immediately see that Jason takes great care of the land. It is evident that he has spent time and used his skills to create a unique camping experience. Not to mention, he is knowledgeable of the area with great suggestions for food and activities.

Rv lot chose to Greenville!

Very nice fairly level gravel lots with firepit, and they were nice enough to supply wood! They are adding a bathroom shed between the 2 lots, which is amazing! Maybe a little over a mile away to the swamp rabbit trial. Once on the trail I think it was about 11-13 miles or so to Greenville. The trail is paved and not hilly, which made for a nice ride to town. This spot is a gem to camp on and the hosts were super nice and helpful... we'll definitely be back!

Travelers rest relaxation

Nice little spot tucked in to a private 8 acre property. Owner Jason was very nice. Even accommodated us after a smaller rpod camper took the wrong site and left us with one that wouldn’t fit our rig. Jason set us up in a great spot elsewhere on property with full hook up’s. Very close to Travelers Rest and awesome biking and shops / restaurants.

We loved our stay on Jason's land! Beautiful, peaceful, convenient to Traveler's Rest and Greenville, and lovely sunsets. We really appreciated the (unexpected) picnic table, wood available on-site, and many thoughtful touches. Our five year old was able to run freely, which was such a great experience for him. We will be back!

Thank you Jason for sharing your slice of heaven with us this weekend. Black Bear Farm is absolutely beautiful and so perfectly peaceful. Just a few minutes from the amazing restaurants and shops that Travelers Rest has to offer, Jason greeted us upon our arrival and left us to explore his property and town. This Hip Camp is just a quick drive to downtown Greenville. We cannot wait to come back!

The Host with the Most

When we got there, Jason was there to help guide us into the perfect position on the camp spot. There is a very cool fire pit area with nice seats where you can actually watch the moon come up and on the other side of that is the sunset.

Great Location

We had a very good stay at Jason's property. The sites are as described, and Jason is working on expanding his offerings there. We were able to have our dogs off leash, which was a huge plus for us. It's a 2 mile backroad bike ride to the Swamp Rabbit trailhead and easy access to all Travelers Rest has to offer. We would stay here again if in the area.

Stayed here while traveling the South Carolina Adventure Route and it was fantastic! The host was very accommodating with our last-minute booking request. The campsite was well-maintained, had a picnic table, several chairs and a huge fire pit! The host also had plenty of wood onsite for purchase. The new bathroom facility was still under construction, but the host had kindly made the toilet available, which was a huge relief as we were tent camping! We enjoyed the quiet location and easy access. Highly recommend this Hipcamp to all campers needing a quick overnight or for longer stays!

Really enjoyed camping at Jason’s land. Very convenient to Travelers Rest and many hiking trails around. His place is easy to find and the grounds are neat and tidy. We even caught a beautiful sunset from our site one evening. He’s got a bathroom in process, so it will be even better the next time we stay.

Great location. Exemplary host. Located with easy access to both Greenville, SC and Hendersonville, NC. We ended up stranded for the better part of a week after Helene passed directly over his property. Jason had the equipment to clear downed trees from the property and local roads. His concern for our safety was evident and he did all he could to support us while we waited for power lines and trees to be removed, giving us a clear path out of the area 6 days after the storm passed by. I would highly recommend Jason and this property if traveling in the area. In addition, this site is only a 35 minute drive to Hendersonville, NC where several aid organizations (including Baptist on Mission) have set up disaster recovery sites in the wake of Helene. When we return to volunteer, this property will be “home base” for our efforts.

Great location private but close to

Jason was very helpful. He gave us a short cut to swamp rabbit trail and was pretty quick responding considering it was the 4th of July. We were the only people camping there so we had the run of the land. The electric connection is pretty far away but they provided an extension cord with was great. I highly recommend this site. There is so much to do in the area and with the trail system not a bad ride into Greenville. The trail is great lined with restaurants, brewery's, shops and bathrooms and water stations. We will definitely be back when it's cooler weather.

Our Favorite Hipcamp!

We love to visit Travelers Rest and the only place we enjoy staying in our teardrop trailer is at Jason's place. We love the property with the rolling hills, great sunset views, and the proximity to the Swamp Rabbit trail. Jason was quick to respond to our questions. Highly recommend this hipcamp!
