Heavy wooded area. Perimeter is sawed rails from fallen trees with cable entrance. Somewhat level campsite with gravel, power, water, sewer, stone fire ring, pedestal grill and private pic-nick shelter with power. Most with smaller rigs wanting more space enjoy this site. The shelter has a functional cupola, ceiling fan with light and heigh velocity fan for those stifling hot summer days. Room enough for 40ft camper and crew cab truck.

RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 60 ft
Site 6 is a large pull-in site. According to an experienced RV-er a 35ft fifth-wheel towed with a single rear wheel crew-cab truck will fit. You must back out and there should be 8 to 10ft to back around the camper after getting it situated. The camper will be facing trees and a gully so you can enjoy a natural view. The tributary is straight across the road and Big Creek is about a minute's walk down the road. Bring your cycle, walking shoes, a paddle boat, and some gear to make the most of your stay.

RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 40 ft
Site 4 is named Corner Creek Bend because you're at the corner of the park on the corner of the creek. This would be great for those looking for a little spot close to the water. Pitch a tent here and then slide a kayak into the creek or just fish from the bank. The shower is next to site 5 but the toilet is between sites 9 and 10. Maybe a 2 minute walk. No power, water or sewer on site 4. Deposit trash at office, 4460.

A large 40ft rig can back in but may find hookups difficult to reach. I'd recommend a tent, camper van or if you can't find anything else you can back in a camper. The portable park shower is on the corner of the site. Come relax and enjoy the day. Take a walk by the creek or paddle all day if you like. Lots of gravel roads to explore for cyclist. Get settled in and extend your stay.

Bent Elm Knoll 9

RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 70 ft
Bent Elm Knoll is site #9 in Big Creek RV Park of Saluda SC. Elevated about 5 degrees maybe an issue for low rigs but the view is enhanced. Small rigs and large 44ft fifth wheeel rigs love this site. You have your own space, picnic table, fire-ring grill, power, water and sewer hook-up. You can take a quick tour of the walking trail or explore the creek and fringe property about 3 minutes walk from your site. During the '80s a bulldozer was used to make more space for soil beans. The Elm survived but is permanently bent. The Farmers however didn't fare so well.

Site 3 is a level site on a hill facing Big Creek. I named it Mimosa by the Creek because there is a large mimosa tree to the right facing the water. The site would be great for a tent or vehicle. You can probably pull through pulling a small boat. With a large rig, you may need to back in.

Named the Big Oak Plateau. This site makes a nice tent site but I've also had campers stay here too. Its around 50ft from the restroom. The creek is about a 2 minute walk down the road. You can fish, walk the bank or paddle all day if you bring a portable boat. If you like cycling there are lots of back roads starting from the park you can enjoy all day as well.

Big Creek Campground offers a peaceful and well-maintained environment, perfect for those who appreciate a quiet and clean camping experience. James, the host, is frequently praised for his kindness and attentiveness, often going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. The campsite provides easy access to outdoor activities like kayaking and fishing, making it an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts. However, a few reviews mention noise from other campers and some issues with neighbors, suggesting that the experience may vary depending on fellow visitors.
Beautiful and peaceful. Easy kayak access. Clean and well kept grounds, bathroom and shower house. James is very kind and available. Ask him about the local history😊
Will definitely be back to this site again! My sister and I stayed 2 nights in a tent. Had a great time enjoying being outside and loved that it was right next to Big Creek. Saw some cool wildlife and had fun fishing/ hanging out on the bank of the creek. James was a very friendly host, easy to talk to, and was very accommodating. Bathroom and shower were both great amenities to have near by. All in all a great stay!!
Beautiful campground and very well maintained. James was great , great communication prior to arrival. James even brought over some homemade ice cream to our site on a extremely hot 4th of July. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going again.
Fully understand the lot rules we sign up for, but after being the victim of a DV situation with the problem party not allowed back, I was still kicked out and felt like I was still being victimized. Host not understanding to underlying situations when I was not a problem party and even wanted to extend my stay by myself since this place seemed like the private clam escape I was looking for. First experience on this app and did not feel any real hospitality. The hospitality I received was feigned and not real.
This was a nice, quiet camping spot right by the water, great for fishing! Just be aware that bottom fishing isn't ideal due to snags, and we didn't catch much. Paddleboarding isn't an option here, you'd need to drive elsewhere for that, but kayaking looks like a good choice! 🏕️🎣🛶 #Camping #Fishing #Kayaking
Beautiful, small and remote, directions easy to follow and welcoming host, James. Small town-Saluda Creek, with Food Lion Supermarket and other stores and car wash close by. The facilities (single stall toilet and shower in separate buildings) provided were exceptionally clean, charming and unique with air and heat. History given for some sites as to what was previously located there etc. Short walk to creek area. Price was excellent. Will definitely return!
Very nice spot for campers. More for retired or working people instead of kids. We had a gazebo with fans and a fire pit. Our second time staying there and we will go back. First time we stayed on site 9 and this time 10. Only saw 2 other people out the whole time we were there. About 8 campers total there when we visited.
Host James was very nice and you could tell that he’s really put in the work to make big creek a nice well maintained area to camp. We tent camped at site 3 Mimosa creek. Everything was very clean and manicured. There plenty of space within the site to do everything we wanted. Overall the 2 day/nights we camped were great. I will say that it wasn’t as “quiet” as we hoped and the creek bank directly in front of our site was a very popular spot for other visitors.
James has built an excellent rustic campground. The sites were close together, but not intrusive. The shower house and restroom were separate buildings with camp sites in between. Both were very clean and were heated rooms. The directions were spot on and James was an excellent host.
The RV sites were very large and very easy to pull our RV through. The park was beautiful and quite. All the hookups were updated. James was very informative and gave very accurate directions to the park.
Site 1. Great large site at the end of the road near the water. Very quiet and dark except for the lights on the shower building. We plan to come back and bring our kayaks next time.
We stayed at Mimosa by the creek for two nights. Overall everything was okay. Clean park with large sites. The only negatives we found was that we were beside someone who looked like they have been living there for a while which was a real eyesore.. the neighbors also had a bunch of dogs that they let stay outside barking which was great addition to our peaceful trip. Neighbors also smoked marijuana the whole time. We had some visitors for Easter which we had previously disclosed on the forms. Then got told it was $3 per person extra. Which we found funny because the rules of this park don’t apply to you if you are living there I guess….. it was a one and done for us.
I had a great five nights day at Big Creek. It was very cozy and wooded. Nice places to walk my dogs. The shower and bathroom facilities were warm and well kept. Would definitely come back!
This place was very nice. We were right beside the water and the shower. The shower in the bathroom are cute. Little houses, but inside are very clean and very nice and well stocked.
Absolutely the best one I’ve been to so far. Lovely, clean, easy to get in and out, and very private. Even has a little covered area with lights and a fan. If you’re driving through Saluda, this is the perfect spot for an RV or tent. Oh! And James is super nice and very helpful. He shows that he truly cares about his property and guests.
Nice toilet and shower, very clean and host was kind! I was in park 4 which is same price as the other sites but was relatively smaller than the rest, but secluded more than the other spots if you want more privacy
Camp site was amazing. Jame's was very accommodating allowing me to switch sites when I realized there was no power on the site I originally booked. Location is beautiful. No light polution, can see tons of stars at night. Bathroom and shower are small but heated and air conditioned with plenty of hot water. Easy access trails to the restroom/shower. Had a lovely time.
We stayed a 2 nights and it was amazing! We had the best time! Everyone was super sweet and we are definitely going to be back. Thank you for having such an amazing campsite
We had a very large site, and it was quiet. It was so relaxing. Mr. James was a great host. Awsome fishing in the creek beside the campground. We will be returning soon.
Great site. Fishing was good. Caught 24 lb. Catfish, a Bluegill and a large mouth Bass. Neighbors were a little loud but overall, great place to enjoy nature. Clean facilities and grounds! We will be back.
Nice, quiet. Work in progress camp. Spaces were A little tight, but doable. Needs wifi. Phone service week.. Camp host James very friendly and helpful. In time it will be a great place.
