Leyden’s Land Sanctuary

Victoria has created a wonderful space. It is private and lovely, and I enjoyed staying there with my dogs with no other people around. Victoria gave great directions, and met me to give instructions yet didn't interfere with privacy, which is what I consider important in a hipcamp site. It was my first time there, but I would definitely go back.

Host was responsive. We booked late on a travel day hoping to get a tent setup and rest in a quiet camp spot. Everything seemed promising but when we got there, there was extremely loud music - live music or karaoke coming from the winery down the road, it sounded like a music festival. We were planning to sit around the fire for a bit, and then get some rest, but it was not very peaceful so we decided to pack up and go somewhere else

Fantastic site! Just primitive enough to feel unplugged, but with proper amenities, leveled sites and raised platforms for easier camping. Close proximity to RI beaches (~25 mins). I stopped over for an overnight stay between surfing, and will definitely be back!

Pretty nice spot back there! We didnt stay long enough to check it out, but the host was very specific with instructions that helped us find it even in the dark. Got some wicked thunderstorms but overall a great experience!

PERFECT Private Forested sites!

Outstandingly quiet, easy marked directions, and hidden forest treasures abound! Book this place and revel in your own canopy of stars! The 2wd low rider mini van went through unharmed and the back in site is wide enough to accommodate an extended truck. The other sites were even bigger. The communal firepit is HUGE, plenty of room for cooking, you can burn an entire xmas tree in there! Prompt meet up once I pulled in and I absolutely would love to book this again. :)

Victoria is a delightful person. I just happened to be there at the same time as she was hosting a large gathering of a couple dozen friends. I was invited to join right in. She is intentionally trying to create a mostly wild space where nature is free to thrive on its own. (With a few small areas for cultivated plants, spaces for Hipcampers, and other amenities.) It's important to know that because cars, vans, and short buses can be accommodated quite easily. Large RVs, trailers, and tall box trucks must be prepared to navigate a short but fairly rough dirt road with a lot of low hanging branches. I was able to get in and out in my 32ft class A without breaking anything but if your rig is large and if the exterior cosmetics are precious to you, this is not a good place for you. And that's a shame because the seclusion is divine.

Perfect place to camp with pups!

We were looking for a quiet, local site for a one-night “trial run” with our dogs who have never been camping before, and Victoria’s property was the perfect place! Signs made it very easy to find our site, and there was lots of space for the dogs to explore on their 20ft leads. We heard the occasional car and voices from the winery nearby, but otherwise the site was very quiet and peaceful. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quiet place to camp without spending a lot on the extras!

Was alone all weekend. Listen to the birds and the owls talking at night. Rained on and off so the fire was important. They have a large fire pit. Next to the winery so next time we will plan that as part of the days events

Tucked away in southwestern Rhode Island is a nice little piece of land that has a little Sandy parking spot a nice fire pit and a piece of land with native plants all over it that will be blooming all summer. I’m sure. I was there during the spring in the violets in the blue were in bloom. It was nice and quiet and we got the rest we needed..

I had a great time truck camping here. Not too far from the road but enough in the woods where It feels private. Victoria had good communication and accommodated my visit on a same-day reservation.

We arrived late but our host, Victoria, was super easygoing about this and still checked in that we were ok as well as letting us know we could use the deck platform to do some stargazing (northern lights were reported to possibly be visible). While not far from the road way we felt secluded and had a lovely quiet night and woke to the bray of a donkey in the distance (total bonus).

We loved our stay here! The property is very beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Site 3 felt secluded, and we enjoyed the communal fire pit and the opportunity to get to know another couple camping as well. We will definitely be back!

Great Spot to Car Camp!

Awesome Spot to getaway at a great price! The foliage is interesting felt like we were near the Beach which is fun. The road in is SUPER muddy as u can see from my Jeep. If you come in the early Spring like we did prepare for that! We enjoyed our time and Victoria was a great host we even stayed an extra day!

This is a great and super private site if you are the only ones there. If the other two sites are booked, you would need to share the fire pit, but it is a super nice big fire pit! Victoria was quick to respond and we had no issues finding the place late at night. Would definitely stay again. Check out the winery down the road when you leave in the morning!
