After years of hosting the odd group of people, friends of friends or distant acquaintances - it got us to thinking; there is a reason why they just keep coming back. We are located 25 minutes south of Cunnamulla, South West QLD. We offer seclusion, only taking three to four self-sufficient groups at a time ensuring complete privacy, no shared space. Just the real Outback. Weather permitting. Your only neighbours out here are the wildlife and our stock. The camping spot is right beside a dam/bore drain, with good access from the main road, wet weather permitting. We have an endless supply of Gidgee wood around the camp spot, its the third densest wood in the world, which makes it the ultimate firewood for campers! You can walk, bird watch, fish, swim or just sit back and soak up the country atmosphere. Please let us know if you don’t have a porta-loo as we can supply one. Pets are welcome to join you but please keep dogs on a leash as we have sheep and cattle in the paddock you’ll be camping in.

West Trunkey Camp Site

Bloody brilliant

Fantastic spot - Sarah is really accomodating and the country is incredible - even when we had to find an alternate campsite (due to unseasonal rains) the place was incredible. Red sand, loads of wood and beautiful views complimented by birdsong. What more could you want!

Perfect waterside camping

Our stay was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel incredibly welcome. The hosts were communicative and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Despite our late arrival, the husband waited for us in the dark beside the road, guiding us safely to our spot. Nestled by a serene water's edge, the campsite offered a picturesque and tranquil setting. The beauty of the bush surroundings was breathtaking, and we felt an immediate sense of peace and relaxation. The fire was thoughtfully prepared for us, creating the perfect ambiance for an evening under the stars. One of the highlights was soaking in a hot bath while gazing at the clear, starlit outback sky. It was a surreal experience that added a touch of luxury to our adventure. We cherished every moment at this delightful campsite and can't wait to return. It's the perfect escape for anyone looking to experience the beauty of the outback with the comforts of exceptional hospitality. Highly recommended!
