All of our camp sites are EXCLUSIVE unless you are travelling with others, you will have complete privacy and uninterrupted time during your stay at Francvillers. After years of hosting the odd group of people, friends of friends or distant acquaintances - it got us to thinking; there is a reason why they just keep coming back. We are located 25 minutes south of Cunnamulla, South West QLD. We offer seclusion, only taking three to four self-sufficient groups at a time ensuring complete privacy, no shared space. Just the real Outback. Weather permitting. Your only neighbours out here are the wildlife and our stock. The camping spot is right beside a dam/bore drain, with good access from the main road, wet weather permitting. We have an endless supply of Gidgee wood around the camp spot, its the third densest wood in the world, which makes it the ultimate firewood for campers! You can walk, bird watch, fish, swim or just sit back and soak up the country atmosphere. Pets are welcome to join you but please keep dogs on a leash as we have sheep and cattle in the paddock you’ll be camping in.

I loved staying at the Lake Paddock camp site 2… the site is just beautiful, right on the lagoon, easily accessible in my 2WD station wagon. The baths are really something else, being able to bathe in aquifer water is really special, especially after a long drive. The bird life at the lagoon was spectacular. I highly recommend Sarah’s place and I hope to come back soon.

Very private Hipcamp in a nice bush setting. No neighbours for what seemed like miles. Sarah was a lovely host and very accomodating. Nice easy drive into Cunnamulla.

What a small touch of paradise. This is an outback experience everyone must do, laying back in a thermally heated, fresh water bath under a blanket of stars. Add your favourite drink and nibblies on the grazing board provided and you have shared memories that will last a life time. Thank you Sarah…. We loved it.

Amazing hosts and beautiful peaceful location. Our family of four loved the wood fired bath tubs and we selected the options to hire yabbie nets, firewood and half a dozen fresh eggs. We caught yabbies very quickly with the yabbie nets and cans of tuna we’d brought with us to use as bait. The amount of firewood at the site for $20 was very generous and it burnt very slowly so we had excess. Bring marshmallows to roast and enjoy the space and privacy this beautiful campsite offers.

Great private camping yes it's a dam ,all the rivers are the same colour we were at West Trunkey camp you can see the a bit of road in the distance if you think you will be see by someone doing 110 kph well done, it didn't bother us we enjoyed our time Thanks

We chose to stay at the Ridge paddock camp which suited us very well . Plenty of space and wood and very private . Sarah is delightful and the arrangements went very smoothly- we booked at the last minute and Sarah went out of her way to accommodate us .

West Trunkey Camp Site 1
Very disappointing. We booked West Turnkey campsite by the dam at $46 per night which was over priced for what was offered. The site is only a patch of dirt beside a muddy, bare farm dam with green algae and no aspect. Not at all attractive. No facilities whatsoever. There is constant road noise, as it is close to the highway. Also not private due to the traffic. This is contrary to their advertising. No phone reception. Cannot recommend.

We had a lovely 3 day stay at Francvillers station and would definitely recommend. Sarah is a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome on her property. Lively birdlife, relaxing baths and a great outlook, while not being too far off the beaten track. Will definitely be back one day . Thanks again Sarah !

We loved camping on Francvillers and it was such a tranquil spot to sit in outdoor baths and say goodbye to the day. Sarah was extremely kind and responsive to all messages, making us feel right at home. The wetlands in there were gorgeous and being able to watch all of the birdlife was beautiful. Highly recommend!

Hosts were fantastic and the campsite was peaceful. Loved the tubs and the open space. Loved our 2 night stay and when we comeback this way we will definitely be back. The ample firewood supplied was awesome for our toasty soak in the tub and the eggs golden yolk delish. Would highly recommend for those who want to be off grid away from the crowded caravan parks.

This property is stunning and significant thought has gone into the layout of the Campsites. We had a lakeside site with woodfired baths and we enjoyed these across the two days whilst watching the variety of birds flying around. Very serene. We chose to purchase wood (very generous bundle) & some eggs which were fresh and delicious. Sarah was a fabulous host & even gave us a great recommendation for coffee in town. Thank you so Much Sarah and we hope to be back one day!

What a pleasure to find this place with very welcoming hosts. The land is looking pristine after the recent floods, and we chose the Lake campsite with outdoor baths. The lagoon was full and was thoroughly entertained by spoonbills courting each other, pelicans and herons feeding and lots of smaller birds like tree creepers, tree martins, plus wild budgies nesting. Walking around the lagoon we came across a flock of 17 brolgas which was a highlight for me! The site had another campsite within 100 metres but you still felt like you had enough privacy at night to have a bath without being seen or disturbed. You would be seen during the day however! With enough wood burning under the water tank, you could have a wonderfully steaming hot bath under the stars. It was a very special treat and the artesian bore water was very clean. Sarah’s children are lovely and befriended our dogs. For a fairly remote spot it felt like a very special place to visit and was remarkable for its birdlife. Thank you Sarah and family.
