Greetings! Suenos del Mar is a small tropical farmstead. We plant trees and tend bees. In 2017 hurricane Maria raged through the island and damaged much of the property. We are still recovering but the trees are coming back and we continue to replant. We welcome you to pick some fruit in season. There are many exotic fruit trees, such as pomegranates, guava, mango, guama, nespero, lime, starfruit, and more, Over the years many volunteers have helped to create a welcoming environment. There is a hand-built stone bathroom, a grape arbor and large table where the socializing goes on. Sometimes we offer yoga and meditation and ceremonies. Recently a fire dancer performed for a full moon gathering held there. It is a special place and we welcome you to experience the out-of-doors in a safe and beautiful environment. We had a great time at Maureen’s-it’s a peaceful site with everything you could need for a comfortable stay and with great views. Maureen was a wonderful host as well, and really went above and beyond!

Peaceful land with fruit trees

The site was rustic and secluded overlooking a mile of beautiful green nature out to the ocean. Maureen was considerate and responsive to anything we could gave needed!

An authentic and memorable stay

Maureen goes above and beyond for her guests. If you want an authentic and low key experience on the island, book it! Very communicative, helpful and easy to co-live. Rico and I may just cross paths with Ms. Maureen again someday!

Most Accommodating Host Ever!

Maureen was such a phenomenal, accommodating, and welcoming HipCamp host! She emailed me a few days before our trip to ask for my itinerary and planned to meet us at the ferry to pick us up at 6:30am since it was drizzly outside. We went back to her house for a full home-cooked breakfast and she helped us find a bike rental place that we had reserved from and showed us her more remotely-located HipCamp property - Suenos Del Mar. At Suenos Del Mar, there was a very large tent set up with 4 inflatable mattresses inside as well as space to relax, shower, and enjoy the views of the ocean from the property. Because the rain appeared to be developing into a full-on storm, she set up a tent in her home's garage as a back-up accommodation and provided comfortable inflatable mattresses, pillow, linens, and towels. She taught a yoga class in the morning and invited us to come along and also to explore the island a bit more with her. The next morning we told her we were headed out at 5:30am and didn't need any breakfast but she still got up early to make us coffee and toast to-go. Maureen was always nearby ready to offer help or hospitality in anyway. She made us feel extremely welcome just as if we were family visiting from out of town. We would definitely love to stay here again hopefully on the beautiful Suenos Del Mar property if the weather is better!
