If you’re looking for a secluded, off-the-beaten-path spot, this location definitely delivers—but be prepared. The road getting there is not suitable for a regular car. You’ll really need a 4x4 vehicle, or you risk bottoming out on potholes, deep ruts, and large rocks along the way.
The drive in was honestly pretty stressful. There’s a very narrow bridge that felt a bit scary to cross, and at one point we almost got stuck trying to get out. Our van struggled going uphill—we were spinning tires before finally making it out.
After that experience, we headed toward the El Yunque National Forest for our hike, which was beautiful—but I have to admit, my heart was racing for a while after the drive.
Overall, it’s a unique and remote place, but I’d strongly recommend coming prepared with the right vehicle and a bit of confidence driving rough terrain. Definitely an adventure—welcome to Puerto Rico!
