Beautiful area amidst Amish… fun to explore the creeks, caves, and quarry. Loved the privacy and dog friendly freedom! Enjoyed Amish cheeses and ice cream one direction, and jams the other. Ran into Dennis and his pups one day… super cool and laid back guy (but one was reactive to our poodle… loves people though!) . Appreciated the onsite firewood sale and Porto potty access! It was a perfect place to relax while our teenager was at Woodwork BMX camp.

I had a three night stay, over a beautiful weekend. I was very very happy with it. It was a picturesque, secluded creekside site, in the perfect location I was looking for. If you're into bicycles, the area Dennis lives is one of the best in the state for it, with quiet farm roads galore. All the sites that I saw on the property are fantastic. I kind of regretted not renting the site by the cave, it's an absolute gem, but the site I had was still terrific. I'm so happy I found this property because, I love quiet when I'm camping, and don't do so well with loud people or children around. I feared if I stayed at the State Park or a private campground, this might be an issue. Not an issue at all on Dennis's land, quiet as promised, I could not be more satisfied.

Dennis’s camp was great. Plenty of room and kids had fun exploring. Close to coburn float which is tons of fun. Dennis was helpful and responsive. Definitely recommend!

The Woodward Cave 3 campsite was exactly what we needed to end our trip! We booked the morning of, and arrived a couple hours before sunset. We read the directions to a different site, but quickly found our spot close to where we came in off the road!
The beautiful rock wall has a view of mossy wildflower beds to get lost in while you sit by the fire. We crawled into the cave space for a mini adventure. The wooden tent platform was awesome and kept our stuff dry through the dewey morning. We became one with the bugs who have enjoyed a mostly undisturbed spot for the last couple years. It was very cool to be the first campers back in it after a while, as told by the host, who brought us delicious wood-smoked cheese from a local farm!
All in all it was a great experience and we hope to come back and enjoy more time!

My wife, dog and I had a quick 1 night stay at this site. It was mostly private, yet pretty exposed out on the edge of field. There was a large picnic table and simple firepit, but nothing else. It appears that the wooden platform we were expecting has been removed, potentially to build out the old rusty camper that sits on the site. You definitely see the local Amish going about their daily chores and riding by on horse & buggy. The single portapotty on the property desperately needs to be cleaned/switched out. It was crawling with bugs and was completely full of waste. Otherwise, the site satisfied our need for a quick overnight quiet campsite.

Wonderful campsite tucked away on the property. It is very private, well spaced, and has some very cool rock features. Access to listed amenities was very easy. Dennis was a great host and extremely responsive. 10 of 10 would stay again!

The site was exactly as expected. Dennis gave us our space but responded to messages when needed. You'll hear quite a bit of carriage traffic, and distant roosters and cows, but not much else.

I could find the campsite eligible for just one night during the weekend. Well, it is located in a very unique place, and I read instructions again and again, and finally figure it out within the bush. Campsite is just across the nasty stream and ranch. Because of a lot of mosquitoes, we won't be able to enjoy sitting outside. We just hid in the tent. Toilet is really nasty with thousands of maggots. So I never use it. The worst thing is cow's burking in the night. It never stops, so I won't be able to sleep well.... Only good point is the owner can text you quickly, if you have a problem.

This campsite is a great base for exploring the state forests and parks nearby! The deck seems to have been in the process of being repaired, but the ground where it used to be was level (just hard to get a tent stake in), so it was fine for our purposes. We appreciated the seclusion, scenery, birdwatching, and firewood that Dennis left for us!

Second time at Woodward Cave #3...Dennis is a fantastic & friendly host. The property is great to explore and truly a gem in the middle of beautiful hill country. Perfect if you want a very private, fun atmosphere with plenty of great state parks near by. We went to nearby Colyer Lake and had an awesome day picnicking and swimming. Will continue to go back every summer, thanks Dennis!

Great spot for an overnight. Private site - other sites are about 100yds away. There is a cave if you dare to crawl into it! you can hear the farm animals next door but they're quiet at night. Beautiful scenery all around.

This was such an amazing and tranquil camp spot. Easy to find, secluded, and a throwback to old Pennsylvania. Would definitely recommend for as many nights as you can!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Dennis' camp. Our only complaint would be that the grass was too high at the Crick Sit site. We hope to check out some of his other sites!

Great site in a protected area near a rock face (with cave underneath for any daring and limber enough to explore it). Porta John and firewood available a short walk/drive away near the quarry. The site can get a bit muddy with wet weather but there’s a wood platform for tent and table and chairs on location. Very cool property and Dennis is a great guy with an awesome coffee shop and ice cream shop in town (Inglebean). Lots to explore in the area - we did tours of Woodward cave and Penns Cave, and went Paddleboarding at Bald Eagle State Park.

It was amazing! It was a cute little setup, the cave kept it nice and cool. Dennis was very friendly and a great host. His dogs were the sweetest dogs you'd ever meet. I'd definitely recommend and I would definitely go visit again!

I was lucky to have clear skies, this site has the best view IMO of the night sky, wind kept the bugs down. I went to Bald Eagle to ride adv trails and got stuck on some single track and had to walk out 5 miles. Next day Dennis was nice enough to drive me to rangers station so they could get me to trail head so I could hike to retrieve my motorcycle.

Nice place to relax and this is our second stay there. It offers a pretty view of a meadow area and a mountain ridge. The portapotty was clean and the birds and the outlying area were great.

Cave 3 site is a great, cozy site. Picnic table and chairs were a nice feature, along with the elevated deck for the tent setup, and a nicely sized fire pit. Would definitely revisit in the future.

Woodward Cave 3
This was another spectacular Hipcamp find! Beautiful property with an old quarry. Our site was at the rock wall with the cave. It provided plenty of shady canopy on some hot days and even relieved us from the few rain showers. The ground is rocky, which you should expect from an old quarry! But the platform easily fit an extra large tent and there was clear ground space enough for the 2 smaller/mid size tents we had. We walked down to another site on the property that had an unbelievable view of a natural meadow, trees, farm, and rolling hills. That one is awesome for viewing stars.
We got to meet and share a beverage with Dennis our first night there. He was welcoming, friendly, helpful, hospitable. All the good stuff! His story and how he strives to live on the land is enviable for sure.
Plenty of things to do whether you explore the property, go to the nearby state parks and forests for some hiking, tubing, sightseeing, pop into town and visit Inglebean Cafe, the brew pub, the winery, or maybe catch a tractor pull on the weekend. Penn's Cave is a short drive and must see.
If you're thinking about booking this spot, stop thinking and go for it!
