The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night. Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October (say 'hi' to Jim). In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be. The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. These accommodations are great for guests who want more amenities but still with easy access to river. Pair campsites and cabins so that all your guests have their best experience. Huge, private 2 acre wooded site with small stream, ancient stone walls and dramatic setting overlooking valley. Private solar lit driveway leads to a circular loop parking area that can accommodate 4-6 vehicles. Two 10x12 platforms are provided. One can be used for guest or rental tent and the other is setup with covered table and for covered cooking area and food prep area. A 10x20 tent pop up is there when you arrive (shown in photos as a 10x10 -- but is now bigger. For additional guest provided or rental tents, we have two other leveled mulched areas -- good for 4-5 tents but depends on size. Please consult with us directly before booking date to make sure everyone fits! We also provide adirondack chairs, dining table and chairs, 5 gallon water jug and ceramic dispenser, washup station and all cooking tools. This site has no electric but has tiki torch bases, firepit and grill. Also includes a toilet tent with disposable single use bags. The site is a 1 minute walk from riverfront beach that is shared by guests at our Airbnb so a perfect place to launch your own boats or tubes in the summer. It is within a 5 minute walk of The Outpost restaurant. An excellent location for large group, guests with pets, or as a combination with rooms at neighboring farmhouse for guests that prefer indoor living to camping!

This listing reserves the 4 acre waterfront property and is intended for large groups of 100+. Booking includes campsites (Sunset, Sunrise, Lagoon, Canal), 200 seat theater and 12'x24' stage, 25'x50' sports arena, lighting, dedicated 200 amp electric service, beachfront, entry welcome center, directional signage, bonfire pit, and parking and conventional camping on lower mulched towpath and along upper grass road. The price displayed is a base figure including 30 campers. Additional campers are 30./person/night regardless of age. Please consult with us regarding an extensive list of extras and optional configurations. Guests can 'keep it basic' and bring their own equipment or have us provide everything setup on arrival from tents & mattresses to professional sound equipment, projector and huge inflatable screen for movie night, coordinated river trips and many other options. The River's Edge will assist you in staging the perfect event. Photos displayed are of past events that have included music festivals, promotional events, family reunions, off the grid weddings, & campouts. The River's Edge Waterfront sits across the road from our 5 bedroom farmhouse lodge which can be booked separately by request if you have extra guests, wedding party, or family that prefer indoor living. Sunrise also sits next to the campsite beach which is ideal for small children to safely play next to the river. We have recently added a new waterfront pad for additional tents so is also suitable for large groups up to 20 or so people that are bringing or renting their own tents. The main tent is fully electrified and insulated including a tin roof and small covered porch that will keep you and your things dry in any weather. Shaded sleeping tent and 10x20 covered eating area are perched over a river lagoon which is accessible down a mulched ramp. This swimming hole is the ultimate place for a hot summer day or an escape for fishing solitude. Tent is ideal for two people and includes carpeted and insulated floor, electric heater, and real 8" queen sized mattress for any climate. PLEASE NOTE: there is no wood stove at this location. Gorgeous little cabin on 1800s farmhouse estate. Former home to some spoiled chickens — their loss is your gain. Massive stone walls and enormous windows overlook garden and the Delaware river. Short walk to beach and tubing. The coop is a two story structure with living room and kitchen on lower level divided in half by staircase to second floor. Upper level has huge bedroom with king size bed, tiny bathroom, and a generous open area that can be used as an office (with desk), extra bedroom, or sitting area. Guests can roam free around the building -- or free range to garden, river, or 50 acres of private forest. Ask us for a map ! In winter, building is heated primarily by a propane heater in living room. Thermostat is by front door and can be adjusted if too hot or cold. Electric space heaters are located in kitchen and bathroom for extra warmth and can similarly be set to desired temp. The wood stove is in living room and is especially nice in the coldest weather. To maximize wood efficiency, once wood stove is running hot, close the air intake so it burns wood more slowly. By damping air flow, the stove will run for 5-6 hours. In summer, we have a window installed air conditioner located in bedroom that cools that room perfectly no matter how hot it gets. Opening and closing the glass door to this room shares the ac with rest of building if desired but decreases its effectiveness. Windows should only be opened and closed if the above systems are off as it is a waste of energy.

Electric space heaters are located in bedroom and bathroom for extra warmth and can similarly be set to desired temp. This was such a gorgeous campsite with thoughtful and hand crafted details. Plenty of space and directly on the river. The bed in the canvas tent was comfortable and the kitchen area was well stocked. Despite it being rainy during our stay we made the most of it and had a wonderful time. We'd love to come back again, but will remember to pack the bug spray next time :)

Thomas was a great host and has a great property on the river that made our camping experience super smooth and enjoyable. The River's Edge campsite was very private and had everything we needed (the BBQ was very nice to have), including a nice little pooled area to swim in that was protected. We were a group of 11 and there was plenty of space for everyone. There's no cell service (unless you have Verizon), so you get to totally unplug and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Thomas went above and beyond as a host, even obliging our request to do a last minute beer run for us as we had run out (and none of us were in a state to drive)! We would stay here again in a heartbeat :)

My son and I had a fantastic time. The campsite has an awesome view and access to the river. Thomas was a super attentive host and the site is decked out. The dining tent makes meal prep a breeze and has everything you need - brand new gas grill, pots, pans, cutlery etc. And a working refrigerator…only downside was it rendered my prized new Yeti cooler obsolete lol. You can park your car right at the site for easy car unpacking and repacking. The toilet tent was clean and convenient. Great kayaking rafting and hiking all close by. No cell service (which is honestly kind of great) but if you need the internet in a pinch super easy to pop over to the Outpost restaurant up the road and plug into their WiFi. I’m hoping to go back and bring a bigger crew to enjoy the site as we had tons of extra room at the massive dining table!

Thomas was so attentive and thoughtful - moving our group's site to one better situated for a potential downpour and making sure we had everything we needed. The frogs sang us to sleep, after the neighboring campsite's forest rave blissfully petered out. I would/will definitely be back - a great spot for groups / bigger families.

Decent spot, nice host with good supplies and coverage from rain with the large canopy. However, it is close to the road and very very hilly so it’s hard to get a good number of spots for tents. Firewood close by for purchase is a huge plus along with the toilet and grill.

We absolutely loved our stay at River’s Edge on the Canal! Thomas was an exceptional host—friendly, welcoming, and incredibly generous. Our site was beautiful, spotless, and thoughtfully prepared with little extras that made a big difference. He went above and beyond by including a BBQ grill, extra firewood, and even allowing us a late checkout, which was a huge help. He also provided access to showers, which we really appreciated. Thomas truly made our stay special, and we can’t wait to come back!

We really enjoyed camping on Thomas' land. The view was beautiful looking out over the rushing river and we even saw a bald eagle a few times across the river. The campsite itself is a bit narrow, so keep that in mind if you have small children. But there was plenty of room for the three of us. The canvas tent and bed made for an excellent experience of being outside without sacrificing too many luxuries. And having an extra tent already set up for us was so helpful considering it was raining when we arrived. This camp site includes a large canopy, tables, silverware and dishes, and a well maintained grill. If you are looking to camp but don't want to pack half the kitchen, this site will have you covered.

Staying at the River's Edge was quite eventful as our trip started with a small incident (lol) but Thomas helped us with that. He was really nice to upgrade our site last minute free of charge to one with a better shelter (from the Canal to Sunrise) because the weather got really, really cold! We were provided a propane grill free of charge as well! That helped us with cutting down cooking time in the cold. It was a bit dark in the tent once the sunset, but luckily, I did bring my own little camping lanterns which helped us a lot. We broke the spigot of the ceramic base for the water jug by accident and offered to compensate but Thomas told us not to worry about it. I was a bit disappointed my friend and I were not able to tube in the river but we can't do anything about the cold weather. We will definitely plan another visit sometime in the summer! We left with great memories! Thank you!

There was a freak snow storm when we went, but Thomas was there with our campground ready, and even offered a cabin due to the weather. While our stay was short I will recommend any of their sites, or cabins. Super clean spacious, and the host was awesome.

We booked the River's Edge on the Canal tent. Thomas was very nice and offered us to change our booking to the Canal to Sunrise tent at no extra cost, which was an upgrade with better shelter for a cold weather. Everything was as advertised, and the wood stove kept us warm throughout the nights when the temperature fell below freezing.

Amazing views, Bald Eagles and Shooting Stars! Thomas has literally thought of everything! This spot is amazing and we took a little walk to see the other sites nearby and I really think you can’t go wrong! The temps went down to 28 and between the heater in the tent and our heated blanket we weren’t cold at night. Thomas had our preordered firewood nicely stacked and kindling all set up in the fire pit, the table was set and chairs nicely set at the fire pit facing the river. Parking for one vehicle right at the top of the site was perfect. The “bathroom” tent was better than a port a potty. We camp often and not having to bring our own stuff was perfect. We would definitely stay here again, in fact, we’re planning it now. Thank you Thomas for the most amazing camping experience. This is 5 star camping for sure and a 5 star host!

Our experience camping here was amazing! The area was a perfect set up in the woods and walking distance to the river. Thomas had a fantastic set up of chairs, cooking utensils, tables and more! We really appreciated the tent pop up & wooden platforms for dining & putting a tent on, this made prepping, cooking & eating that much easier Thomas was extremely communicative, provided nearby hikes & places to visit, was always available to provide more water, firewood and able to help We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and cannot recommend more. Thank you Thomas!

Thomas is a great host through in some freebies and was very knowledgeable about the area. We were first time at his property. He was very hospitable. He even gave us access to a Airbnb that he wasn’t using an order to give us some extra accommodations would highly recommend paying a visit. and what a beautiful view of the river truly worth the visit

Cozy and Intimate
River's Edge on the Canal
This is our second time visiting Rivers Edge. Such a cozy environment with such an involved host. Had everything needed aside from food, drink and any other personal items. We can’t wait to come back and try out the other campsites until we’ve experienced them all.

Perfect camping set up

River's Edge on the Canal
This is an amazing camping/glamping site where they’ve really thought of everything to create an easy and seamless stay! Two of us are experienced campers and we pitched a tent in the ample mulched space provided. Two were new to camping (and one was 7 years old!) and they stayed in the canvas tent. It’s perfect for a first camping experience because it’s so easy. The lights were really cute, the grill, cookware, and table settings made dinner a breeze, and the provided chairs were comfy for lounging. You can see and occasionally hear the other camp sites, but they were very well spaced and it felt private. We especially loved how it was right on the river and had beautiful river views! The 7 year old went wading even in October. The site was described as “simply perfect” by a first time camper, and we’d love to come back!

Forest Overlook
Loved the space, nice and woodsy and the flattened spots for tents were nice and cozy. A great spot to camp if you want to enjoy a little seclusion while still being close to stores and restaurants if you need them

Camping with a gorgeous view

The Lagoon
We had an amazing stay at this Lagoon campsite! Everything was perfect—from the stunning views to the well-maintained accommodations. The host was incredibly helpful, providing clear guidance on what to bring and offering great hiking suggestions. We had everything we needed and more. The tents, toilet, and cooking utensils were spotless, and the propane grill worked perfectly for burgers. The only downside was the outdoor shower attached to a small shack. While we didn’t mind using an outdoor shower, it was located in someone’s yard. When we went to use it, a birthday party was happening, which made things a bit awkward. We ended up just rinsing off while chatting with the guests! A partition would be a great addition to give guests more privacy in that situation. Other than that, I highly recommend this campsite and plan to return in the future!

Forest Overlook
My son and I had a wonderful weekend (2 nights) at this secluded overlook. Just enough trees are removed provide open space for our hammock, a platform for our tent, fire ring and more, but plenty remains to ensure privacy. Just what I was looking for :)
