Pets can be off-leash at this Hipcamp.
Vintage camp with some creature comforts. Electric cooking range, microwave, coffee pot, small refrigerator TV and blu-ray player. Outdoor propane grill, charcoal .grill and fire ring. There is no running water in the camp. There is an outhouse for toilet facilities. We provide filtered water for drinking and cooking. We also provide fire wood.Expect a quiet relaxing time. There are several hunting camps in the area that are rarely in use other than during the hunting seasons. The area is abundant with deer, wild turkey, grouse, squirrels, and song birds. There is a hiking area available across the road that is only open from January 15th to April 30th , and again from June 5th until September 1st. There are several Gamelands nearby that also offer hiking and wildlife viewing opportunities. The cabin can sleep 4 people, with a queen sized bed and 2 couches . Tents can be set up on the property to accommodate more guests if desired, we can discuss that prior to a reservation. We have a few rules that we expect our guests to abide by. No fires outside of the provided fire ring. No fireworks of any kind. No use of projectile weapons (Firearms, pellet rifles, bb guns, slingshots, or bows) on the property. Damage to any live trees of any kind will not be tolerated . If you bring a dog it's your responsibility to pick up and dispose of any waste. Do not burn garbage, bags are provided and can be left at the cabin, we will dispose of them.

Expect a quiet relaxing time. There are several hunting camps in the area that are rarely in use other than during the hunting seasons. The area is abundant with deer, wild turkey, grouse, squirrels, and song birds. There is a hiking area available across the road that is only open from January 15th to April 30th , and again from June 5th until September 1st. I've always had a really nice time at this spot. Great place to spend some time if you're looking to focus on a project without distraction. beautiful environment, simple amenities, easy access to both the national forest and the town.

The Highlander
The camp is small but cozy. Tha cabin is well stocked with such things as a coffee pot a toaster an electric cook stove and even dishes and propane for the grill. My wife and kids and I slept amazingly well. We did not see any bears but a doe came by most mornings to say hello . Everything was awesome and well taken care of . Thank you very much J my family and I had wonderful time and will surely be back . By the way the light or light switch for the for the kitchen light needs it be replaced because it flickers most of the times it’s turned on. .

The Highlander
This is a very old trailer with an added on room. It may be clean but it didn't look, smell, or feel clean. A trash bag by the door had not been taken out. I had trouble finding the light switches. I am used to rustic but the unclean, crowded feel made me leave without staying even an hour.

I love the little cute cabin. The woods the sound at night. There was no one around to bother you . With noise it the perfect quiet get away! You have shopping center 20 minutes away. And the owner was super nice I will be coming back! Super clean.

Quiet and peaceful place!
The Highlander
This was 2 very relaxing days spent here! Everything you need is provided and the host awesome. Quiet area no noise so peaceful. He has a couple of dogs that are so awesome they don’t bite! Will definitely be back for sure!

Cozy Cabin in the Woods !
The Highlander
Small Rustic Cozy Cabin.. no thrills. J had the cabin warmed up for us. We took a walk around the property with the dogs... Had a great relaxing time. Plenty of wood.

Woodburning stove kept us very comfortable during a colder visit! J was very helpful letting us know about the weather as our trip approached. It was a good fit for 3 people plus a dog.

The Highlander
Loved our time at the Highlander. The cabin was cozy and well decorated. The outdoors area felt private and secluded and we spent all night by the fire. There’s so many great things locally for the outdoors and historical lovers. Highly recommend

The Highlander was fantastic!!! I DO regret not having more time to enjoy the forest, campfires, and camp food, but we were only in town overnight for an event on Saturday..... Could only really enjoy it to sleep...... But, OH MAN, did we SLEEP. J had the wood stove burning when we got there and the smell, and the warmth, and the sense of comfort and peace was FABULOUS 😁 We snuggled ourselves to sleep and woke up to fresh coffee and a lovely sunrise. I am pretty confident in saying that we'll be back when we have more time!!!!

Peaceful getaway
The Highlander
I had a nice night at the cabin. I appreciated the firewood for a nice fire and the electric stove and cookware was convenient to have to make dinner. The bed and the couch was comfortable. And enjoyed a drink on the porch when it started raining. The coffee and tea was a nice bonus and even though it's a "dry" cabin it came with plenty of water.

I’ve never had so much firewood at a Hipcamp site! I love campfires and it’s nice not to have to ration the wood too much. The outdoor atmosphere is beautiful and accessible in every way. I loved cooking meals by the fire and enjoying the forest. The cabin is cozy with some old school hit DVDs to watch, as well as a wood burning stove. Lots of fun. We will be coming back.

Enjoyed our stay. Plenty of wood supplied for a very nice fire pit. Our host stopped by to make sure everything was satisfactory. Rustic, but very reasonably priced.

Great place to rest and relax!
The Highlander
The Highlander is a comfy spot to crash after a long day of hiking, kayaking, and exploring the Allegheny region. Jeremy is a great host. He provided plenty of firewood and a clean site to chill and relax. Would love to convince the wife to come see the Fall foliage later this year!

Absolutely loved this place, I did not stay long enough, but will definitely be back. J was a super friendly host, that is there if you need anything at all. Don’t miss Frosty Jacks just up the hill! Honestly it’s just the perfect place to camp, you definitely won’t be disappointed….✌️. Even the dang outhouse is cute.

We had a great time at J's place! We felt like we were glamping. Spoiled by plenty of cut wood for the fire pit, electric in the cabin, coffeemaker, fully outfitted kitchen with a small refrigerator & all the things that are often forgotten. The area is so beautiful and you could hike all day without running out of new sites to see. Thanks J! Can't wait until we can visit again.

Loved loved the Highlander. Great way to unplug and reconnect and recharge the only drawback was it was to short of a trip. Thank you so much to Jeremy and his wife great host the bread and eggs were awesome thanks again Ee will be planning more trips there for sure

The Highlander
We had a really nice time at the Highlander. Although we did have a tent as well, having the indoor space to escape to from the rain was amazing. Just enough Creature comforts to experience camping without it being too stressful! J had the home fires burning for us so the camp was nice & cozy when we arrived.

Cozy cabin in a private area. Host was helpful and friendly. Perfect spot for the price if you want to get away. Homemade bread and chicken eggs made a great breakfast over the fire!

The Highlander
I had a wonderful time staying at the Highlander! The cabin is warm and cozy with everything I needed and the surroundings are peaceful with a great view of the night sky. The outhouse is not too far from the cabin. JW was extremely helpful when I had trouble with the wood stove, and he and his wife left some lovely gifts for me and my dog. I would come back any time.

The Highlander
Had an amazing time staying at the highlander with my pup to watch the meteor shower! The cabin had a lot of great homey touches, and I stayed warm with the wood stove even though it got below freezing both nights. There are walking trails right across the street, and there were also a lot of brochures on the dining room table for things to do in the area. Definitely looking forward to coming back sometime!
