We had a great time. Being right next to the river was amazing. We swam & played in the water the whole time. Privacy was good too: we never saw another human being, other than the occasional boater going by. For the forest lovers out there: the woods around the campsite aren’t pristine (there is some knotweed), but the trees around the site are big and lovely to look at.

We had such a wonderful weekend camping along the Allegheny River! The site was peaceful, spacious, and beautifully maintained—truly a hidden gem. Waking up to the sound of the river and watching the sunset over the water each evening was magical.
Our two dogs absolutely loved it too! There was plenty of room for them to explore, and the natural setting made for the perfect weekend escape.
The host was responsive and welcoming, and the directions were easy to follow. If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic spot to unwind and reconnect with nature, we highly recommend this one. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a good time there was just a few things that were kinda meh but the lil bathroom they have set up was blocked by fallen trees and didnt look like it was maintained and there was a battery for a set of string lights and to possibly charge devices but it was broken. The campsite itself was really pretty and pretty secluded.

This campsite was perfect in every way. It felt secluded and it was right at the edge of the Allegheny. We had a great time fishing, birdwatching, and letting our baby get very muddy. There is a small structure there with firewood and solar lights. The composting toilet was also very convenient. All in all, a flawless family camp.

We really enjoyed the views from camp. Being right on the Allegheny River was a special treat. To see the mist rolling across the water in the morning, to hear the birds chirping in the trees above, and to have a site secluded from other camps, made this experience memorable.

Great, primitive spot right along the river. Firewood was provided which is a HUGE bonus not to mention Mike had the fire going for us when we arrived due to it getting late and the possibility of rain. Beautiful location, would recommend.

We loved camping at the Riverfront site. The directions & GPS were clear and we didn't have trouble finding the site (just had to make sure offline maps were downloaded)
The site is gorgeous and mostly secluded and has a couple connected trails for a short hike. Unfortunately, we were unable to start a camp fire any nights we were there, as the fire wood provided on site was extremely damp and despite our best efforts would not light.
It is extremely peaceful and serene, and I even got to see a Bald Eagle swoop from a tree right in front of our tent, which was pretty incredible.
I had my dog with me, and she had an absolute blast. It was nice to be able to let her stay off leash without concern of any issues with nearby sites. Overall we had an amazing time; very happy with our time there.

Kara and Mike's spot is so incredibly special. Beautiful landscape, incredibly kind, generous and knowledgeable hosts. This spot holds a piece of my heart to be sure, and we will be back as many times as they'll let us. :) As our 5 year old son says "it's paradise!".

Our first Hipcamp stay and what an awesome experience! Our waterfront site was beautiful. We enjoyed watching wildlife like geese, frogs, birds of prey and more as we waded in and out of the river throughout the afternoon. We had a fire next to the water and cooked dinner as the sun set and fireflies came out. Even though there are a few houses across the river and a road to nearby homes above the site, the spot felt secluded and quiet being below the road a ways and amongst tall trees and thick, green vegetation. You’ll need to bring what you need as it’s basic tent sites but there was also a lean to with solar lights and charging station, dry fire wood, and a compost toilet which were great extras!

This place was just perfect, it was private and quiet, especially at night, during the day you could hear an occasional lawn mower, boat or vehicle but nothing bothersome. Lots of birds and other wildlife were near, deer, muskrats, and a beaver. Pack light though, as there are steep steps going down and a little bit of a walk to the site. What goes down, must go up!! Lol!!! They also have solar power for your use, as well as some other amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!! We will be going back!!

Great site, nice hosts and awesome location right on the river!
Camping layout was nice, enough room for our big 6 person tent and still had enough for a couple small tents if needed. Also had a little pseudo shelter with solar power to charge devices and a small popup tent with bucket toilet,and picnic table. Couple firepits (1 on the river rocks and 1 just above it at the campsite were chill, had a fire going for us when we arrived which was very nice. Firewood was plentiful (we paid for some extra) and there's even a little pump well for washing water.
Site is right off a private road but felt very secluded overall, there are houses across the river and down the road but it's a nice, quiet site. Walmart / stores about 20 min away as well. Very limited tmobile service (barely had one bar lte) but that was a plus for us to disconnect. You do have to park and haul gear down a set of stairs and a short 300ft walk down an easy trail but wasn't a problem, even on our way out in the rain. Thanks for the nice stay, will definitely be back!

Kara’s site was fantastic. Pretty, shaded, relaxing site with river access. The directions and communication were great. They were very accommodating. Great spot for wildlife as well. We enjoyed listening to screech and barred owls, and saw kingfishers, bald eagles, deer, and osprey. It’s the perfect landing spot for a day trip down river from Fisherman’s cove as well.

Had a great time at this site. Nice amenities, great communication/flexibility, great view and access of the river, great spot for swimming and just relaxing. The campsite itself had enough room for our 3 large tents and 1 smaller tent, and that was just in the immediate area. Plenty of more room throughout. Would definitely stay again and 100% would recommend.

A Frame
Very cozy weekend in this adorable a frame! Kara and Mike were greats hosts, very accommodating for anyone traveling with a doggie. A private camping experience with lots of trails to explore. Thanks for the firewood and camping! Already planing our next trip back:)

Mike and Kara (and Piper🐶) were amazing hosts! They made sure we had everything we needed, provided a walkie talkie incase we had to get ahold of them, left a s’mores kit for us and brought hot coffee in the morning. The property is gorgeous and the perfect place to disconnect! Highly recommend booking this campsite and we will be return visitors for certain!

This was a great first experience with hipcamp. Mike and Kara were great to work with with. They were super communicative and flexible. The site exceeded expectations! They have a beautiful spot by the river with solar powered lights and it’s all easily accessible. We took our 8 month old with us for his first camping trip. It was a big hit with the little guy!

Our experience was great. Kara and Mike were very helpful and communicated well. We decided to set up camp on the pebble beach on the banks of the Allegheny River (we had inflatable pads and sleeping bags). The site offered unparalleled views of nature and we saw many birds and other river wildlife. One evening after we made our campfire, we watched the moon rise over the hills. And nothing like early morning coffee while watching the mist on the river. The water was shallow enough to wade into, fish and swim. Optional kayak rental was very nice to have. And so was the complimentary firewood! The site we chose is being improved and it is a bit of a hike to the campsite, including stairs. We did bring our own water and chairs in addition to car camping equipment. The site had solar lights available as well as power to charge phones, which was a nice surprise. We hiked across the bridge through town and up to Dennison Point as our only outing. Wish we had another day to explore the neighboring towns. For reference, we are a family of four with two boys (13 and 10). In summary, if you have a sense of adventure, and are looking for a wonderful rustic location in nature, this site is for you. We look forward to coming back.
