Private Farm Near Gettysburg

The host was nice, and so was the place. However, it did not have a fire pit. Nor were we allowed to make a fire. The neighbors also used their dirt bike (with sounds..) most of the evening. Also, another camper was apparently stuck here. He had three very aggressive dogs (not under control). As long as they are there, I would not recommend staying here.

Don’t stay here

I’ll be requesting a refund. Showed up and a broken down 40+ foot motor home being taken apart was where we were supposed to to be or right next to us. The motorhome was surrounded by junk. I called the person in charge and he told me power is out and has been for 2 days. If the power has been out for two days why did he not contact us. Pictures don’t show the motorhome being repaired and it being surrounded by junk

Nice night away from home

The view of the farm next door was nice seeing the horses and other animals. The house to the left has 3 big dogs that kept coming to the fence line and charging at us because of our poodle we had with us. We did find ticks on us and a lot on our dog. We had to go knock on door when got there .my husband said James was nice and pleasant to talk to never saw him again.

Gettysburg excursion.

Just as described. Super easy access from the main road. Host came out to greet us and then let us be. Great place for letting the dogs out. Nice, flat site to set up the camper with pleasant views of the neighboring farms. Only recommendation I would make is to bring an extra long extension cord if you are planning on plugging into shore power. This will allow you to set up further away from the main barn. Will definitely return.

Simple but perfect

Guy met me outside when I got there and said hi and told me where I could park that was the flattest and showed me the electric hookup. Was perfect and nice to wake up with horses right outside the camper.

Private, Convenient, Not Quiet

Overall, this served our needs. It was affordable and close to Gettysburg. We thought the property was unique and interesting, the old barns didn't bother us at all. The grass was mown (I've seen a few other reviews saying it was not) and it was very private. No one else was there during our stay. My biggest complaint is that all night long, both nights, there were very large, very loud dogs barking and growling, sometimes directly outside of our tent. This was not good for our dog, or for our sleep. I don't think the dogs belong to the host, so I'm not sure there's anything he can do about it, but it is something to be aware of. It was pretty constant and extremely disruptive.

James was quick to confirm the stay and the directions to the property and how to enter from the road were spot on. We rented site 3 and there was a an old truck already in the spot. You could tell it had been there a while, so we stayed anyway. The site was nice, woke up to see horses running around and it was fairly quiet, save for some neighbors dogs barking in the distance. The site was supposed to be marked with Orange cones, and it wasn't. That made it a little confusing.

Quite and Peaceful Property

Amazing property! Loved the quite area and solitude. All the sites were taken, but we still had plenty of space and privacy. We also loved the various animals in the neighbors' property including the emu! I would recommend for anyone to check this place out.

Tried messaging owner as it was confusing if we were in the right spot, was never responded to. There was a big camper truck in the space that seemed to be what we reserved from the pics and the directions. We parked kind of near the entrance to the gate to not be next to it, though it was empty, it took up the back part of the pasture area, which is much smaller than it looks in the pictures. The grass was very overgrown, and it's really quite close to the house. Was left completely alone, and there was no one else we had any contact with which was nice, but there were lots of livestock dogs that were at the farms that are very close on both sides of the property that barked quite a bit through the night. Definitely would never use a tent here, but it worked for just sleeping in our car overnight near Gettysburg without breaking laws or getting a knock. Wouldn't reserve again though.

Completely private and enjoyable. If the rain had not been falling for three days it would have been perfect. My only note to future guests would be that the water source is immediately at the entrance so if you need to fill up stop there before parking your home away from home.

We had a great stay! This place is close to everything and easy access. It’s very peaceful, this spot may be close to the neighbors but we never had any issues or noise. We were even there for the flood and we had zero issues with the yard we were parked on it stayed nice and hard the whole time. I would definitely recommend this place. If we come back this direction we will certainly stay here again.

Great overnight Gettysburg spot!

James let us book last minute and greeted us upon arrival. I have a 40ft RV and had no trouble getting into the spot. I did a 3 point turn to leave, instead of doing the loop - too tight. Quiet and private spot. We just did a quick overnighter while visiting Gettysburg which was a short drive away. Had 50amp hookup and enjoyed our stay.

The site was unusable. We requested a full refund. Site1 and 2 were both beside barns that were falling down. The grass was over a foot tall. We felt that it was unsafe to camp here.

We have stayed here many times and we always enjoy it! Quiet and secluded, but close to things and convenient. It’s just perfect. We do miss when the horses used to come around to the fence, but it appears they are growing that out as pasture land (Presumably to feed the horses)

This is a very nice, well maintained space. One I’d return to if my travels found me back in Gettysburg. The photos helped figure out where to go since there’s no directional signage. Once there, I felt very safe and appreciate the host providing an option for a last-minute booking.

No Surprises

Everything was as described. Great location. Neighbors had some animals... an emu, turkeys, horses, a dog. All made animal noises but didn't really bother us. Property is across from a little bridge over a creek where our dog enjoyed playing in the water. She enjoyed being off leash the whole weekend. We stayed on site 3 in a pop-upcamper. I'd definitely go back. Fyi, bring tick spray. We were there in the middle of tick season and they were a nuisance, but that is nature! Site is conveniently near town so we could make trips for ice, propane, and other supplies.

Wonderful host and a quiet location

When we arrived around mid afternoon James apologized for the fact that the grass hadn't been cut in the area where we'd be setting up camp. Because of campers earlier in the week and some rain he just couldn't get to do the mowing. So, he asked us to park our motorhome out of the way and he immediately took to clearing the area. He also moved us to another site so we could have access to the electrical hookup. That was an unexpected bonus. The location is only 12 minutes to the Gettysburg National Military Park. It is a quiet, level location with horses and an alpaca on the property next to his. James is a wonderful host and we'd be sure to stay here if we're back in the area.

Never was in contact with James, and never figured out where any of the sites were, but we camped under a tree by a picnic table with an extension cord (that gave us great elctricity,) and kinda close to a cone (which is no longer orange.) The gras was mowed, but not super short and so soft - we were barefoot all the time. And to James, if you read this - the well has orange sediment (rust?) in it. It does settle out if you let it sit for a couple hours, but its not very appealing. All in all, it was convenient, quiet, except the noises of the animals around, which we found delightful, comfortable, and we'll be back if we are back in the area.

Nice, quiet location

Nice, quiet place to park overnight near Gettysburg. No difficulty finding it or finding a level spot for our 20’ van. James was helpful in pointing out the electric cord. We never saw the fire pit. We were hoping to replenish our water supply, but the well water was brown and bugs were in the hose. Overall, we would recommend for a quiet sleep.

This is a great spot. I stayed here for a single night on my way through Gettysburg. Relatively close to town and the major highway but quiet and uncrowded. Make sure you’re completely self sufficient as there are no services.
