The site is in a great location, only a 12 minute drive from Buttermilk Falls and the Rails to Trails Bike Path that runs along the Allegheny River. For those interested in fishing we are only a short drive from Pine Creek, Cowanshannock Creek, Keystone Lake, Mahoning Dam, and Crooked Creek Lake. For those interested in off-roading, the Scrubgrass OHV park is only 20 minutes away.

This campsite is the perfect getaway for those interested a remote location with some extras! It’s nestled away in a mixed mature timber site next to a small and large pond with a dock and access to two kayaks and a four-person paddle boat. Several walking trails on our 30 acres include one that runs along a small creek that feeds into Pine Creek. There is a basketball court and swimming pool with a large deck perfect for families or groups of friends to enjoy. (Pool open from Memorial Day to Labor day but inquire to check for sure!)  Fires are permitted in the fire ring and dry wood is available for purchase. There is access to a main common area that includes a microwave, coffee maker, small bathroom and shower. There is a house located on the property which is our camp and will occasionally be occupied by our family.  However, the campsite is still far enough away from the house to ensure privacy! The site is in a great location, only a 12 minute drive from Buttermilk Falls and the Rails to Trails Bike Path that runs along the Allegheny River. For those interested in fishing we are only a short drive from Pine Creek, Cowanshannock Creek, Keystone Lake, Mahoning Dam, and Crooked Creek Lake. Cozy tree house cabin

The cozy tree house cabin is a fantastic stay to get away and let the mind free. From the trees to the frogs everything was perfect. This a hidden gem in Pennsylvania!! If you're in the pittsburgh area I would definitely recommend staying here. I'm looking forward to my(our) next visit in the near future.

This Treehouse Cabin was an absolutely wonderful couple’s getaway. The property is so well-maintained and peaceful. The hosts were so kind and were available for anything we needed. Definitely a place where we will be staying at again.

We really enjoyed our stay, great spot for family tent camping! The hosts have put a lot of thought into the guest experience. Common areas felt like home, really enjoyed being able to take out the kayaks and paddle boat on the lake.

I find myself battling a bit of selfishness while typing this review. I almost don't even want to tell anyone how perfect this place is. I don't want anyone else to know about it. But Liam and his family deserve the absolute most glowing review. Muddy Myst is perfect...Im not saying that loosely... I mean it is actually perfect. I can't believe such a place exists this close to me. There really are no words to capture the beauty of this site. I hope the few pictures we have included will do it justice. Thank you Liam! You really gave a gift to the rest of us by opening your land up to those of us who are looking for a retreat from the daily grind of life. Your parents were also so warm and welcoming! Hey Tom! You guys are awesome and we can't wait to come back!

May I start off by saying loved it and very peaceful ,quiet & was able to do everything I wanted to with my family. The owners are very friendly ,respectful & very caring felt more at home as soon as I was greeted the place is very clean and definitely recommended I see myself coming back real soon.

We had an amazing time! The cabin was very cozy, it was the best. It rained but not even that could've changed how great of a time we were having, it's the perfect spot to get away to when you need.

Everything was as advertised and more. YouTube was helpful to acclimated. Heat works great- cabin definitely works well for non-summer camping. Lovely spot and reasonable drive into Pittsburgh, plus close to lots of trails and nature.

It’s my favorite place to camp. The property is beautiful and there are convenient ,nice and clean facilities on the property. Sites are private and about the same price as over crowded state parks.

This was a last minute decision for a quick birthday getaway and our first time using Hipcamp. It was a success! We little tree cabin was cozy as promised and the woods around them wonderful. There was some much frog life in the ponds! We will definitely go back on a different season.

We loved tent camping here. Watching the welcome video was super helpful. The creek sight truly is amazing because you can hear the creek the whole time. We had some rainy weather come in, but down at the creek there wasn’t much wind. The other campsites are a good distance away. The bathroom/shower is warm which was great in the cold weather we had while camping.

Our family had a great time at the pond site at Muddy Myst. The amenities were perfect and exactly as described. The property was clean and beautiful. Liam has done a great job at making sure his guests are taken care of, while also allowing for privacy and relaxation.

I have been camping here a lot, Solo camping and with friends. I feel safe solo camping in here, when you get in the site it’s gated and very private. I spoke to Liam’s dad a little bit and seems a great guy. Pond site or creek site both I felt safe. Clean surroundings and you feel remotely comfortable. And yes I will recommend this site.

I enjoyed my stay here, unfortunately I just chose to camp late February and Mother Nature had other plans for me haha. I will certainly be back when the warmer weather rolls around. The common area was well kept and had a lot of personality, you can tell this place is loved. Excited for my next visit!

This is my favorite place to camp. The sites are extremely nice and private. The common area is extremely convenient and warm. It’s very safe and in a great location. I 100 % recommend muddy mist rather you want to rough it at the creek or pond site or stay in the beautiful tree house. It’s an excellent get away

This is a family friendly place with a lot of extras that make the difference. The property is set up in a sprawling campus format with many options to fill the day. It's tucked back far enough to make you feel like you're away from the static of it all, but close enough to the main drag that you're not completely disconnected if you don't want to be. The interactions with Liam and Jolene were so friendly and genuine. They made our stay so comfortable. I'd recommend this for an individual seeking solace from the static or for a family that's looking to spend some time together adventuring.

The cozy cabin at the pond has everything you need for spending a relaxing nights in the nature. Liam was a responsive and thoughtful host. The land is beautiful in fall! Nice trails to hike with a pup, pond for swimming and kayaking. The common area is warm and has every necessity you need for glamping. The shower and restrooms are clean and well maintained.

Muddy Myst is a perfect campsite for both new and veteran campers. We stayed at the pond site, which gives access to a gorgeous view of the pond and lets you use the kayaks and pedal boat. Not too far away is a heated common area and bathroom. The bathroom has a heated shower so you can have some comforts of home while still being out in the wilderness. Definitely will come out here again in the spring or summer to enjoy swimming in the pond.

My family camped at the Pond site with our 6yo, 3yo, and pup June. It was wonderful! The directions to get to & around the site were clear, there was privacy at our site but we also met the friendly campers at the other site (& their dogs). Jolene came to welcome us shortly after we arrived and was so kind & hospitable. We loved our stay and can’t wait to come back!

Relaxing Campsite on the Pond
We’ve been regulars at Muddy Myst since July 2021. Over the years, my husband and I have brought along our parents visiting from India, and this time, we brought our 7-month-old daughter for her first camping experience. The site is conveniently located, just a short drive from Pittsburgh. One of our favorite activities is kayaking on the pond—it’s so peaceful. The amenities available made it easy to manage with the baby. Our puppy really enjoys the Sunset Trail leading to the meadows. Staying here truly feels like a treat for the soul.
