Your stay in the treehouse is off–grid, thoroughly insulated and heated by a wood-burning stove, also we do supply you with a Jackery 1000 lithium battery generator to power the shower, or to charge your phone or laptop. We also use a composting toilet for the cleanest and most environmentally sensitive relationship to the surroundings. You will learn firsthand what off–grid glamping is like…and that includes a hot-water shower. We will supply you with bed linens, towels, bath soap, shampoo, plates, cups, utensils, at least 2 1/2 gallons of fresh drinking water, pots and pans, grill utensils, salt and pepper, paper towels, a sink and dish soap, dish towels, toilet tissue, hand sanitizer, a camping percolating coffee pot, coffee cups, a flashlight, and some firewood (for the mini wood stove—see amenity limitations). Mobile phone service is definitely adequate for working from a tree. :-)

(25)
Yurt · Sleeps 2
Come and relax in the quiet of Comstock Hollow. Take in the solitude: a brook, the woods, and the local wildlife, a perfect place to enjoy a weekend. Such a fresh, relaxing alternative to the Poconos! Enjoy 45 wooded acres with a gently flowing brook. Check out our preview video on YouTube: search words Bear Back Brooke. Disconnect from the hustle and bustle and re-connect to nature with your loved ones. Our guests have access to the 40 acre wooded grounds, which feature two comfy hammocks, two Adirondack chairs, and a fire pit for food prep and an evening of roasted marshmallows & storytelling. This is an ideal vacation spot for city folks to unwind, and the area is widely known for birders. The property has nesting birds of many varieties including red-tailed hawks, robins, owls, hummingbirds, phoebes, blue jays, mockingbirds, king fishers, pileated woodpeckers, among others. Other noted aviary visitors include bald eagles and migrating geese.Fauna on the property include deer, foxes, groundhogs, chipmunks, squirrels, and rabbits. Local attractions include: canoeing down the scenic Susquehanna River, wine tasting at the local vineyards, fascinating antique shops, hunting (in season only & not on our property), skiing, golfing, biking, hiking, birding at the Wyalusing Rocks, state parks, and only about an hour from Knoebels! Guests have access to their site, the path, the common areas (field in the woods, fire pit, pool). The main house, spa, red barn and all tools are off-limits. This area of Mehoopany is sometimes called Champion Mountain, so named for the family who once live on our property. The ruins of their old homestead dates back to the late 1700s. The are only about 10 other houses within a mile of the cabin and many of them are our relatives, as one might expect for an old family farm. The closest public transportation available is in either Scranton or Wilkes-Barre. Our guests drive their cars or rent one to get to the country. Amenities Operational Schedule: TBD
