There are 3 campsites located in the gap of the little Mahanoy Mountain and line Mountain range along the little Mahanoy creek. All four campsites have creek access and come with picnic table garbage can and fire ring and Firewood is usually available. There are two Porta potty‘s one located at each end of the sites. There are trails for hiking which extends along an abandoned railroad bed and also up into State game lands and into the deep woods. The hiking in the woods is on an incline. But the hiking on the railroad bed is pretty unintense. There is parking at each site. The sites are spread out along the creek bed ranging from more of a rustic primitive tent camping on site 4 to an open site on site 1.

Primitive Camp Site W/ Creek Access
100% (10)
Tent site · Sleeps 6
This site is located with some incline and some run along the Creek and offers multiple areas to hang your hammock, pitch a tent, or set your picnic areas up. There is a fire ring provided and there is firewood available scattered through the woods, free for the taking. Dry kindling for starting a fire is always a nice thing to have along with you!
There is access to the creek, but children are advised to be supervised at all times and swimming is at your own risk. There are no lifeguards provided. There is wildlife in the area such as; deer, raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, and turkey so it’s advised to keep food picked up when not in use. Trash bags are provided in the garbage can, but garbage is expected to be taken along when campers leave as well as the site policed for garbage on the ground.
The abandoned railroad was in use during the coal mining in the area and sometimes interesting artifacts are found while hiking along the trail. People have commented on the beauty of the ferns and different foliage that grow in the area and the therapeutic noise of the water while camping along the creek

Cabin · Sleeps 6
This site does not have a cabin on it. Pictures got posted from the Cabin site and I can’t figure out how to get them off. Privet camp site along Creek. The site has picnic table, fire ring with cooking grate. There are multiple locations for tents to be set up, ,and on site parking. There is also an overflow site for larger groups that can be added to the site for an additional fee. There are trails for hiking and a place in the creek for swimming.( swim at your own risk.)
Beautiful camp site! Being right on the creek is gorgeous and peaceful! You feel very secluded! We would definitely stay here again. Mark was super nice and helpful.
Cute little riverside cabin. Just loved it here. Plenty of firewood on site and easy to find with the directions. 15 mins away from my favorite winery and food at spyglass ridge. I will definitely stay again next winery trip.
Mark was very accommodating, helpful, and communicative. We enjoyed walking our dogs on the short trail and swimming in the swimming hole. It's a beautiful, secluded spot in the woods along a creek. The porta-potty was also clean and well-maintained.
We stayed in site 4, and the only downside was the very steep incline down to the site, which was pretty slippery in the rain and made loading/unloading our gear a bit of a workout. There is a log railing and a few stairs, which helped, but if any one in your group has mobility issues, one of the other sites would be a better fit. But it's also closest to the creek and the hill offers good protection from the wind and a little more privacy from the trail!
We really enjoyed our stay!
The campsite was beautiful and very unique. Mark was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed as soon as we arrived. I would highly recommend staying at this campsite!!! We will be staying there again!
This serene property is beautiful and spacious, and it was the perfect spot to tent camp in the Valley. The campsites offer a range of accessibility but all are reasonable and are directly next to the creek. We stayed at site 4, which was wonderful and had direct access to a shallow part of the creek.
Mark provides wood, a trash bin, picnic table, and cooking grates for over the fire- all extremely appreciated. The area was clean and quiet, and we even got a drive by visit from some kayakers!
Mark & Family, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful property and hosting us for a great vacation! We hope to visit again soon.
Loved the area. It was very quiet and nice to just hang out at the campfire and listen to the creek flow. There's plenty of areas to hike and explore. Mark was also nice enough to lend us a splitting axe for our firewood. Will definitely stay here again.
Space was really nice. You are close to the other campgrounds, just fyi. You will be able to hear them depending what’s going on. The creek is such a wonderful touch. He also pointed out a space that was better for floating and wading compared to the flow of the rest. The portapotties were a cool touch. Overall I’d like to go back there! I would recommend it for folks to stay especially as a group. Dog friendly as well!
