Primitive Camp Site W/ Creek Access
Tent site · Sleeps 6This site is located with some incline and some run along the Creek and offers multiple areas to hang your hammock, pitch a tent, or set your picnic areas up. There is a fire ring provided and there is firewood available scattered through the woods, free for the taking. Dry kindling for starting a fire is always a nice thing to have along with you!
There is access to the creek, but children are advised to be supervised at all times and swimming is at your own risk. There are no lifeguards provided. There is wildlife in the area such as; deer, raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, and turkey so it’s advised to keep food picked up when not in use. Trash bags are provided in the garbage can, but garbage is expected to be taken along when campers leave as well as the site policed for garbage on the ground.
The abandoned railroad was in use during the coal mining in the area and sometimes interesting artifacts are found while hiking along the trail. People have commented on the beauty of the ferns and different foliage that grow in the area and the therapeutic noise of the water while camping along the creek
