Tired of the daily grind? Escape to 50 peaceful acres of woods, fields, and creekside camping at Grampy’s Red Rock Rabbit Ranch. Spot foxes and pileated woodpeckers, relax by Mine Run Creek, and bask under the stars just 40 miles from Philly. It's a woodland getaway but with all your modern conveniences just a short drive away. Grampy's is not just a camp site, it is also a growing art park, with sculptures by Moma Sharrod repurposing old farm material and murals by Amarie that accentuate the natural beauty of the site. The story: 50-some years ago, the legendary Grampy David made his way to The Red Rock Rabbit Ranch. There he resides: a good-hearted curmudgeon, a handyman, a grumpy, Ywengling-drinking philosopher, the wittiest mason, carpenter, roofer, etc. you'll ever meet. I'm his grandson, a documentary filmmaker helping to make ends meet by sharing this glorious space with Hip Campers. Caring for the land: Please do not collect your own firewood on the land. That wood is decomposing and contributing to the health of the forest, providing numerous habitats for bugs. As we are going through a temporary pause on selling firewood, you can purchase firewood at nearby Limerick Hardware. If you want a flush toilet: While we are glad to offer a composting toilet, if you really want a flush toilet, Wawa is just an approximately seven-minute drive (depending on one of the two traffic lights in town). Note on dogs: We love dogs! We run a dog-sitting business, so there may be a pack (2-5) of dogs that come through the woods with us on walks. All dogs we sit are friendly towards humans. Nearby recreation: The Perkiomen Creek trail is just a mile away, perfect for biking and hiking. Cabin Craft Outdoor Adventures, just 7 minutes away, rents kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and tubes. Food recs: Thai Spice is ten minutes away. Trouble's End brewing is 15 minutes away in Collegeville, with delicious beer and a Spicy Chicken sandwich. For breakfast, we recommend Snoozy's cafe in historic downtown Schwenksville.

A shady glen has soft grass to pitch a tent. A 50-second walk from the parking area, and we provide a wheelbarrow to help move your stuff - follow the green trail markers. There's deer, foxes, herons and pileated woodpeckers that are frequent visitors among us. We've got a nice trail that runs along the creek, through the sculpture garden, up a hill and back through the field. When the creek is high enough, you can find a spot to dip in for a swim. We've got a metal fire pit if you'd like to have a fire, and if you'd rather go out to eat, we're not far from Trouble's End Brewery in Collegeville that has the best food in the area. We're also a two-minute drive from the Perkiomen Creek trail.

When the creek is high enough, you can find a spot to dip in for a swim. We've got a fire pit if you'd like to have a fire, and if you'd rather go out to eat, we're not far from Trouble's End Brewery in Collegeville that has the best food in the area. We're also a two-minute drive from the Perkiomen Creek trail.

When we showed up at Lindera, it was a little hard to find the campsite. Much of the land is overgrown with foot high weeds and the paths are mostly covered. The other group that was there had a similar experience on their site. There was trash left over from a previous camper, plastic bags and paper products. The table and chairs are dirty and needed to be decently cleaned to use. The one big plus and saving grace was the composting toilet. The building it is housed in was very clean and easy to use. Overall, the land would be great if some more management went into trails and sites. The fire ring was well used and held a fire well.

The Perfect Reset

If you’re looking for a nice retreat this is the place! Almost don’t want to sing the praises as I’ll never find an open time again :) The short walk in from parking (a couple minutes) creates enough distance away to not be reminded of the outside world…including your car. Flat and cleared site under a tree canopy, a set of trees the perfect distance for a hammock and next to a moving stream. Even in the warmer weather you can simply move your chair 10’ and be out of the sun with a cool breeze. Martin provided great communication and was really easy to coordinate details. 👍 It’s my new favorite getaway when I need some reset time. Plan to be back again and again. Thanks for sharing your land Martin!

A nice stay. Private. Good directions. Wheelbarrow very helpful. Dirt sites requite a little care during set up for tarp campers, but they aren't concave bathtubs if it rains.

We had a great weekend at Martin's property. It was quiet and peaceful. There was another group at the other site, but you could barely hear them. The walk from parking to the site was a bit of a pain, but we knew this going in and were prepared with a cart! Overall it was just what we needed!!

Martín was an excellent host. The tent campsite is level, clear and quiet. Martin accommodated our need to fit an off-road trailer by allowing us to camp in the front field which still adjoins mine run but is closer to the road. We had a lovely evening with a fire pit and the sounds of the water and the "singing" frogs.

Always a good time camping at Sacchara. Did an overnighter Saturday into Sunday. Peace and quiet, the creek is pretty much the only noise. Won’t be long and i’ll be back, i’m sure

Another wonderful trip to Martins. I always find myself drawn here, it’s secluded, it’s beautiful, and Martin is always super nice and accommodating. My only regret was not having taken more pictures. 🙂

Haven’t been to Martins property in about a year, it was such a great time. Martin is a great host, and the property is safe and secluded. No complaints, watched a beautiful sunset and sunrise, with the soft sounds of the creek twenty yards from my tent. 😁

Martin's property is gorgeous, clean and he was a great host. My girlfriend and I had a lovely weekend to ourselves at the Sacchara site, the wheelbarrow provided to help walk in our gear was a welcome amenity. Plenty of great trails in the area, even walking the property was a delight. It's close to Skippack, a great little town to walk with plenty of shops and sights to see. Hoping to visit again next year!

This spot is easy to find and quite large, we fit 2 tents and had space for more if needed. I love that there is seating, a table and fire pit all there. You really don’t need to bring much. This was my second stay at this camp this time I brought my friends and we had a blast. Thanks for another great stay.

We had a wonderful time on Martin's land at the Sacchara site! Everything was as described, and although there were campers at the other tent-camping spot, we couldn't hear them at all. The trail from the parking area to the site is flat and takes 4-5 minutes to walk, the campfire ring is big and beautiful, and there are trails to explore that we didn't have time for. I'm looking forward to returning so I can see where those trails go! On Sunday, we had the chance to bikeride on the Perkiomen, which I highly recommend! Next time, we'd like to do more of that and check out the boat rental places so we can explore the creek.

This was a great camp site. It’s secluded and my 8 year old and I had a great time exploring the land and stream. LOTS of firewood and just a really peaceful experience. Also town is very close and there was a nice breakfast place to cap off the weekend.

Martin was such a wonderful host! He replied promptly with answers to any questions, gave great directions for the property, and had plenty of firewood for purchase in good quantity for a reasonable price. The campground was a little further from the car than we expected, but it yielded wonderful privacy along a babbling creek that made the trip. Martin also provided a wheelbarrow to carry our things to and from the car, which made it no issue. The property is beautiful, we watched chipmunks play all weekend and deer walk along the river in the morning. More than enough room for our (huge) tent, fireplace with many chairs, our hammock and anything else you might need. The site also has some log seating and a small wicker love seat that was a big hit for naps. The weather and fall leaves were wonderful, we’re thinking about returning in the spring!

My friend and I had a lovely time camping! The campsite was so serene, with a beautiful creek flowing next to my tent and there were a lot of trails nearby to access like the Perkiomen trail. Also—The best part was one of the guys helped changed our flat tire. We are so appreciative of that kind gesture!
