Forest House at Lake Warren Estates
This was the first place I've ever rented through Hipcamp, and I truly couldn't have been happier.
The cabin managed to be cozy while still offering plenty of space so you aren't always on top of everyone else. The cabin and location were beautiful in equal measure.
In terms of accommodations, the hosts truly thought of everything. It was a nice surprise to find a guide on using the fireplace (not to mention the Great Grate!); everything about our stay was hassle-free.
I'm already longing to go back!

The cabin was great and made for a comfy stay for me and my young family. The location was amazing and close to some great trails. The cabin was clean and, if it weren't for the pesky rain, we would have had plenty of firewood. We got a kick out of the fireplace instructions. We would visit again.

I had such a great time at this cozy cabin. It had everything we needed. We were able to go hiking at the nearby trails and experience the beautiful scenery. We enjoyed a relaxing fire in the awesome fireplace. The host was always quick to respond and very helpful. So happy I went- would love to visit again!

Burt was very responsive to messages, and super helpful with the proactive messages they send to make sure that you have everything you need for your trip. The cabin is beautiful, wonderfully maintained, and has everything you might need for time away; fully stocked kitchen, linens, and all of the standard (and higher than standard) creature comforts that you could ask for are waiting for you on your arrival. We took a short drive down to Fuller Lake and Laurel Lake and spent some time there during our trip. There are great trails to hike in the surrounding parks. Far enough removed from any of the surrounding towns to get away, but close enough to pick up anything you may need. The wifi was great, and had no issues with connectivity, which was helpful because I didn't have cell service (T-Mobile). Given that, I would recommend making sure you have directions saved offline before heading to the cabin, and the directions here are super straight forward and very accurate. If you see an open date, book it!

A simply beautiful cabin, well designed and immaculately maintained. Burt has thought of and put into place everything needed to make your experience top end. Ample roominess and very comfortable. Well equipped with many supplies, including the kitchen. Incredible firewood supply. Private and quiet but conveniently located - just minutes way from great hiking trails. No question about it - this is five stars all the way!

A wonderful cabin! We were there in early April 2021. Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. My wife especially appreciated the cleaning supplies being out and available (she re-cleans everything the moment we arrive anywhere). Would certainly stay again!

Great location and large house--it was nice, too, to have the separate basement area! Several fantastic hikes within 20 min (google Rocky Ridge to Whisky Spring, and the Sunset Rocks loop in Pine Grove Furnace was beautiful) drive of the cabin. We were two couples and the house was big for us. Used for remote work for a week and there were no internet issues!

Unequivocal 5 stars for this one. The house itself is in great shape and we had an amazing weekend as a couple and a toddler. The fireplace is well designed and easy to use, and there is plenty of firewood inside and outside. The kitchen has everything you would need for the basics, though ambitious chefs should note that the knives are a bit dull and there are no nonstick skillets.
Hiking trails are a less than 10 minute drive away, and the host provides an enormous binder full of interesting/useful information about the area (takeout menus, historical news clippings, hiking trail descriptions, and that's barely scratching the surface).
The host was responsive, reasonable, and easy to communicate with.
We will definitely be back--this is one of the best value rentals we have ever booked. Thanks Burt!

Beautiful home in a small neighborhood close to Pine Grove State Park. Great spot to for day hikes on the Appalachian Trail. Lots of firewood. Very clean!

This was such a wonderful site. So well kept, very very accommodating, and the atmosphere of the cabin was a dream. I felt very welcome and very well cared for! This was my first time taking a break since the pandemic started, and it was refreshing beyond belief. Thank you Burt and family!

The cabin was a fantastic get away with lots of privacy and a cozy atmosphere. The fireplace was my personal favorite part of the trip. We are definitely planing on coming back sometime soon.

We had a great experience! I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for an opportunity get away. The house was incredibly clean and well appointed. The lot around their cabin is large and makes you feel like you are in the wilderness. Also, the fire pit is exceptional.

Had a wonderful weekend at Forest House. It was in a great location that was remote and peaceful. The cabin was cozy and packed with amenities. Everything from cookware to board games was provided. They really thought of everything. There are several parks a short drive away with beautiful hiking trails. We had a great time and will definitely be returning again next year.

It was the awesome stay, we felt bougie staying here and work bit during day and enjoy the outdoor in same site. I wish we brought more friends to enjoy hiking in trails everywhere in the site. Just simply love it!

Totally cozy, great place. Burt was phenomenal answering questions. Towels, sheets, pots, pans, even coffee and paper towels provided. Ac and heat. Two bathrooms and two TVs. Good internet connection. Nice street for walking. Hikes nearby. Fire pit delightful. Lots of pro gun and Trump signs in Neighbors’ yards, which did not contribute to our feeling of safety, but property itself was secure and delightful. Had a great time.

We cannot wait to return! Cabin was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Perfect home base for our adventures in Michaux Forest. We hiked and visited the two nearby lakes multiple times because they were so close to the cabin. Great space with lots of room and super welcoming.

This cabin is absolutely amazing!! We were looking for a relaxing weekend and that’s exactly what we got. The cabin is beautifully kept with an amazing fire pit in the backyard. We had morning visits from deer and a friendly orange cat. Definitely pack your bug spray so you can enjoy hiking in forest/state park.

This was the best cabin that I have been to! The cabin was very clean and spacious with great amenities. It was a perfect place for a weekend getaway. The host Burt was also great and he responded to my questions in a very timely manner! I hope to visit the Forest House again in the future!
