Four secluded campsites along Bear Creek in the Poconos, feature spacious safari tents with queen bunk beds, covered dining area, a deck to set up an additional 6 person pop up tent. In addition we have “Check Point Shed” where campers can borrow gear. Drive into your campsite immediately you will hear the sounds of a babbling creek, by giant rhododendrons under magnificent hemlocks and oaks - a truly natural and relaxing experience. Campers can enjoy a short hike to our private waterfall with swimming hole or lay in a hammock by the creek. The sites are surrounded by 400 acres of privately owned natural forest with several miles of marked trails. The campsite is adjoined by Lehigh Gorge State Park and PA state game lands. Sturdy shoes or hiking boots are recommended for hiking. Just minutes away there are outdoor adventures galore: white water rafting, kayaking, biking on rail to trails bike paths, skirmish paint ball, Glen Onoko Falls and Hickory Run state parks. The mountaintop entertainment venue Penns Peak and the historic town of Jim Thorpe are just 15 minutes from the campsite. Jim Thorpe has many fine eatery’s, shops, the Lehigh Gorge Railway and Asa Packer mansion

Bear Creek Hideaway in the Poconos
Camping turned Nature retreat
Scott and Christina have made this camping experience feel like our own little nature retreat! The site and the grounds exceeded our expectations. They are so kind and accommodating which turned our weekend camping into an ultimate getaway. There is so much to explore on the property, we didn’t want to leave! Thank you for sharing this special space with us!

Bear Creek Falls Getaway
This was by far one of my best camping experiences! The site had everything you could possibly need and was beautifully built on a private piece of land that leads to a serene flowing creek at the bottom! So impressed! Will be back!

A Creek Runs Through It, Poconos
Great camping experience!
This place is such a gem! Our host Scott was kind and helpful. Property was well maintained and stocked with the necessities. Bathroom was clean and user friendly. My family loved it here. Even caught trout in the creek. We will definitely be back.

Bear Creek Hideaway in the Poconos
Highly recommend!!! My wife and I stayed for 2 nights and were completely blown away by this property. Scott made sure we had everything we needed and walked us through camp to ensure we had all necessary information about the site and the trails. We will definitely try and make it back!!! The creek and the trails were amazing and the double waterfalls did not disappoint. Such a peaceful site.

Retreat on Bear Creek
We Love Camp Dietrich
An amazing campground with amazing hosts! The campsite and waterfall are both very beautiful. The hosts are so helpful and kind, and they provide a lot of essential camping supplies which makes packing so much easier. Its also a really quick drive to the cute shops of Jim Thorpe. Us and our dogs love it here!

Perfect getaway
Our camping adventure on Scott’s land was one of the best I’ve ever had. Whether you’re a seasoned camper and want to go to a beautiful, private spot or if you’re a beginner and want a little backup support on your adventure, you’ll love camping on Scott’s land. You’re not right up against other campers and can feel like you’re in the woods alone and there are great hiking trails that start right outside of your tent. Scott has also created some magical spots to check out like the waterfalls with an Indiana Jones style bridge and hang out platform by the swimming hole. Can’t wait to visit again! Would highly recommend.
