Come join us in the beautiful forested landscape of Central Pennsylvania. Located a mere 20 miles south of Penn State University, we are surrounded by the many amenities Central PA has to offer.
We are welcoming to LGBTQ+ campers as well as all ethnicities.
Pitch a tent on a quiet site and drop a line into one of our two trout streams crossing the campground. Hang a hammock between two towering poplar trees surrounded by flowering rhododendron. Or pull up in your camper and relax before and after a Penn State Football game under the blue and white sky. We have small, secluded sites to get away from it all, as well as conjoined sites to accommodate larger groups.
On property we have bathrooms, hot showers, and a recreation hall with free ping pong, board games, and billiards.
For a fee, we also have firewood, electricity, and a large event tent for rent.
Campers must be less than 24 feet.
Generators are not allowed.
Music should not reach outside your own site after 9pm.
There are no water hookups.
Vehicle noise is audible from route 350, especially on Friday afternoons.
Noise is diminished at sites further back from route 350.
Our sites are wheelchair accessible, but the bathrooms and showers do have one step up into them.
Walk to Snappy's 24-hour convenience store to use their free Wi-Fi, buy bags of ice, or to pickup snacks and a sub in the attached Snappy's Grille. An ice cream stand and restaurant are within walking distance.
We require a minimum two nights stay for the recognized holiday weekends for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Bald Eagle Campground is a charming spot nestled in the lush woods of Pennsylvania, offering a relaxing atmosphere with its beautiful scenery, including a creek and a frog pond. Campers frequently mention the accommodating and friendly hosts, Linda and Janet, who go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. While the amenities like clean bathrooms, hot showers, and a rec room with a pool table are appreciated, some campers note the presence of road noise, which can be a minor inconvenience. Overall, this campsite provides a peaceful retreat with a touch of nature's beauty and good company.
Site was gorgeous. I stayed here before but this time chose a site much closer to the back of the park away from the main road near the creek and this time I could barely if at all hear road traffic over the sound of the running water, which was much more enjoyable and relaxing. Felt very private and serene, and everything was very clean. I like that the site has shower facilities which I think seem improved since my last visit several years ago. Unfortunately I did get rained out, but that’s the fault of my gear, not my host!
We were greeted by Linda when we arrived. She was so nice and friendly and we chatted for a few minutes. Were we returning campers so we knew where to go. It was a great time, as always!
What a hidden gem of a campground! We loved Bald Eagle Campground & Linda & Janet are awesome ! If you love nature & the lush woods of PA, this is a nice place to stay.
It's a beautiful campground love the creek the owners are very nice, we also enjoyed the many visits from the ducks there I also like the convenience of the Snappy's and Dollar General being real close We had a back site wasn't hardly any traffic noise, it was rather quiet well kept bathrooms , just an all around nice little Campground
Me, my son and grandkids had a great time camping out there. I haven't went camping for ages and enjoyed getting out and enjoying it with the grandkids. They loved the frog pond and the thrill of the outdoors. Overall great time. Thank you Linda and Janet. We will be back next year.
Beautiful and well maintained sites. The road noise is a bit much but if you are looking for a crash spot on your travels I don't think you could do any better.
We had a lovely two nights at site 12, next to the frog pond! The entire campsite is very well maintained and peaceful, and the owners and camp host were friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are clean and showers are hot. Fire pits and lots of dry wood available - you can put cash in the box or Venmo. There is some traffic noise but nothing ear plugs can’t handle, and we slept well. We will be back!
Beautiful campground with a pond and creek. Only thing is the showers. No ventilation in them at all. You were sweating before you could even finish drying.
We stayed at Campsite 19 and had a wonderful evening. The host met us upon entering to give us the layout and point out their amenities. There were plenty of campers this weekend, but it never felt crowded. We only saw folks on our way in to or out from our site. Site 19 is the only one with a platform, which worked great for us. It was along the stream, so the sound of running water was nice. There was a fair amount of traffic noise from the highway early on in the evening, but it died down pretty quickly.
The bathrooms/showers were more the adequate, and there is a rec room with pool table and ping pong table that is open all night. We forgot to load our own firewood and were relieved to see that they had a supply of dried hardwood available—7 logs for $5. There is a Snappy’s nearby and a Dollar Store down the road if you forget to bring anything.
The campground is surrounded by laurel. I had a family of ducks come visit me. Host was accommodating and kind. Bathrooms were clean. Road noise was unnoticeable as the night wore on.
When we arrived we were greeted by Amy, she was super nice and friendly!! We booked two nights but only stayed one due to the weather but that’s okay. We stayed at site 5 and it’s perfect , private and super close to the stream. Super relaxing! We have more stays booked so looking forward to them!
I loved everything about site 19! the platform protected my tent from the rain so awesomely. the firepit was awesome and we cooked all our food over it, its right over a rushing stream that was white noise to sleep with, linda and janet were so welcoming and guided us right to our site and where to find electricity. 10/10 would stay here again
Overall it was a lovely campsite. It was really cool that it was in a grove of rhododendrons. However knowing that there was a busy county road next to the campsite before hand would have been nice to know, to prepare for the extra noise. Campground was lovely but look at the camp sites and. Pick one further from the road.
I appreciate that Linda was super accommodating when I requested a last minute site change due to flooding. Like previous reviews said, the road noise and truck Jake brakes are close. Flush restrooms and hot showers are always a plus. Stayed there for a train event in Altoona.
Beautiful property! Very nice owners. Met me at the site just to be sure I had what I needed. Stream is peaceful, there were plenty of people there my weekend, but that was nice and communal.
Linda and Janet are amazing hosts. They recommended a spot other than the one we chose and they were absolutely right. I liked the fact that there were showers and toilets as well as a play/learn room where there displays of maps and games to play
I’m so glad we stumbled across this campground! It is exactly what we were looking for: a relaxing weekend outdoors while also having some amenities (electric, bathroom/shower, cell service, and close to a 24hr gas station). Site 30 is spacious, right on the stream, and close to bathrooms. It is the closest to the road, so we did hear a good bit of road noise as other reviews mention, but it was fine! We stayed 4th of July weekend, and the campground was not full, so it was nice to get away from crowds and have a relaxing weekend as a family. Definitely recommend.
Amazing! We had a wonderful site right on the water with a fire pit right there so we could hang out in the water while our food cooked! Everything was wonderful and we cant wait for our next trip!
Fantastic little piece of heaven nestled away in the heart of Pennsylvania! Great owners who welcome you as family!
Beautiful clean sites, rest like you never had before while enjoying the sounds of nature!
