Off Season Rates - November 1st to March 31st - 2025 / 2026 Follow on Instagram @ Upriver23paradise Centrally located in the McKenzie River Valley, near McKenzie Bridge Oregon. "Upriver Paradise" is your private gated retreat. Pull up a chair, start enjoying the elevated views and tranquil sounds of the McKenzie river while overlooking forestry lands. Steps away to your private river access with approx. 150 ft of river frontage. Explore the banks , cast a line, try out the plunge pool, take in the wildlife, wave to rafters and drift boats floating by. Included are two power and potable water sites, up to 8 guest. Power pedestals have 50-30 and 20 amps at each location. Both locations have a 50' power extensions(30amp) and extra water hoses if needed. There are two picnic tables, fire pit, extra seating, garbage, WIFI and one portable toilet on site for use during your stay. There is no septic on site for gray or black waste There is a dump site approx. 1 mile west. For larger groups if needed: Upon request (2) additional power and water connection sites can be accommodated with same amenities above, up to (6) additional guest or up to (14) total per night, for an additional fees. On the east end of the 2.5 acre property, there are two cabins for short term rentals that you can also check out on Instagram @ Upriver23paradise A three bedroom house and a one bedroom cabin listed on ABB-VRBO for family or friends, just a short walk to camp. Please inquire if you would like additional information of listings for availability and booking.Ounce you arrive, choose the best view you prefer to set up your RV's or tents that suits all your needs during your stay. If you choose to get out and about , there are plenty of activity's , Restaurants, convenience stores just minutes away. Tokatee Golf course , Blue Pool hike , Belnap and Terwilliger Hot Springs , Blue River and Cougar Reservoirs , water fall hikes ,biking and hiking trails and so much more to explore. Great variety of food , 1966 Grill , Takoda's , McKenzie Station Pub , Obsidian Grill , Indigo cafe. If up for a short road trip, recommend a cup and pastry at Sisters Coffee.

Beautiful, level, peaceful location right on the river. Steve was helpful when checking in and out but not intrusive. Verizon cell service was decent and WiFi was available. We would definitely recommend this site to others.

Such a beautiful spot! I loved all the little places to sit and look at the river as the sun went down. The camping spot is beautifully maintained, and Steve was a great host. I'm looking forward to returning next year!

I drove ten hours to get to this amazing spot and I’m so glad that I did. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Steve has created an absolutely magical paradise along the river, and I can’t wait to go back. There are numerous places to choose from where you can park and all of the views are spectacular. There are seating areas up above the river where you can make breakfast and relax or you can take a short walk (a few stairs) down to the river and enjoy numerous seating areas down there. The sound of the river is so therapeutic. You just get lost in it. There’s a fire pit where you can relax and plenty of space to set up your stuff. It was raining while I was there and host Steve was fine with me setting up a pop-up over the fire pit to keep it dry and create a space outside to relax even in the rain. Speaking of Steve, he is wonderful. The perfect host. He checked in and let me know he was available but also gave plenty of privacy. I needed to borrow a tarp and he helped immediately. He’s knowledgeable of the area and super easy going. The area has so many things to see and do. I went to numerous waterfalls and on so many beautiful hikes. Sisters, Oregon is only an hour away and such a cute spot to go grab coffee and lunch. The coffee shop a mile down the road makes THE BEST lattes and has a cute little gift shop attached. I really can’t express enough how perfect this spot is. Steve has put his whole heart into making a space for people to enjoy.

Steve’s property is immaculate and he was an amazing host. We had such a great time just hanging out at camp all day and watching the river. Our 1 year old son also loved it. So many thoughtful touches all across the property, we will definitely be back!

We love this Upriver spot!! It was our second time staying here. It's a perfect set up for groups with both RV's and tent campers. Lots of space, with a large fire pit and walking trails down to the river. Steve keeps it tidy with just the right amount of yard art and additional landscaping. He lives on site, so he's available if you need anything, but keeps to himself. The location is great for golfing, fishing, hiking--with easy access to the Willamette National Forest.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Upriver Paradise and it was truly a delightful experience for us and our friends who came along with their trailer too! Plenty of room for both of us to park our trailers with riverfront views. Beautiful, private spot in the forest along a picturesque river, a perfect escape into nature! The scenery is amazing and Steve has done a fantastic job putting his personal touches all around this retreat! We enjoyed the soothing sound of the flowing river, it's a great spot for relaxation. It’s also a great spot for exploring near by waterfalls, hot springs and lakes! The grounds are well-maintained, with the cleanest porta potty you will ever see. There are plenty of chairs, picnic tables and benches throughout the retreat as well. Overall, I highly recommend Upriver for anyone looking to connect with nature. We can't wait to return!

We loved our stay at Upriver Paradise! Steve has a great setup. Lovely setting right on the river, very peaceful… plenty of space for a couple of campers and tents if need be. He also has a very clean porta potty which was appreciated!

Upriver is hands down my favorite HipCamp spot so far. Steve is wonderful and has set up a truly magical private oasis on the Mckenzie River. Can’t wait to return next year!

Third visit this year and it just keeps getting better each time! We had some triple digit weather and it was fantastic to escape to the river! We had rain one night and that was fun, too! Steve takes exceptional care in maintaining his site. Loved watching the osprey and the little birds hopping around the site. It’s always beautiful and looks like no one else has been there. We enjoy the property so much and we’re thinking about a quick November trip this year! Thanks again, Steve!! The whole family loved it!

Once again, this place gave us a peaceful relaxing week away from home. Perfection!!! It remains our favorite place to camp. So very clean. Every detail thought of. That river!!!!! such a peaceful place.

Amazing 10/10 Camping

Our group, 16 of us, had THE BEST time at Steve’s Paradise on the McKenzie. We utilized both the campsite (2 trailers, 3 tents) and the larger of the two cabins. The cabins and campsite were in close proximity of each other via a short walk so that we could easily use the house and campsite for our group. Everything was so clean and Steve has thought of all the comforts and special touches. We especially loved being so close to the river. The campsite was very well maintained and the trails to the river were excellent. He has chairs placed in the best spots! 10/10 for this experience. We will definitely be back. Thanks Steve 🙏🏻

Highly recommend this awesome property! The scenery is absolutely gorgeous, and the host/ owner is super helpful, friendly, and just plain cool! The grounds are well taken care of with all the amenities you would need, as well as some darling decor. This place is relaxing and idyllic, we plan on returning soon!

There are multiple areas with chairs and benches to enjoy the beautiful view of the river. We spent most of our time with our feet in the water watching the rafts pass by. Steve has done an incredible job with all of the small details covered. The space is spotless! Lots of space for multiple people!

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Upriver Paradise campsite. Steve keeps the grounds in excellent condition. The view of the river is amazing and it is centrally located to a lot of the cool things the McKenzie River Bridge area has to offer.

We had an amazing time at this campsite along the McKenzie River! Steve was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The site was spacious enough to comfortably fit two 30-foot trailers with lots of room left over, and the level of privacy made it feel like our own personal retreat. Steve has included thoughtful touches at the site, including multiple seating areas, spare extension & trailer power cords and bug zappers. We enjoyed it so much we’ve already rebooked for next year. Highly recommend!

Spacious river site for large group

This site was perfect for our group (3 families camping together). We had tents and a trailer, and everyone had plenty of space. The location on the river is wonderful, we did plenty of cold plunges and enjoying the summer heat. The host is so nice and hospitable. The porta-potty's were so clean and well taken care of. Super cute coffee shop/cafe just down the road. All around, an amazing stay and would love to come back!

Had another wonderful stay at Upriver Paradise! Weather was perfect for really enjoying the river which is just a few steps away and it’s fun to wave at rafters floating by! The pathway to the river has lights that light the pathway to the river at night and there’s a little “island” that has a little tree with lights that come on at night. This has easily become our favorite place! It’s peaceful and soothing to hear the river at night. A couple of us did the hike to Blue Pool since it was so close and it did not disappoint! Lots of other hikes that aren’t too far away as well. Steve was, once again, very gracious, friendly, and welcoming. He’s definitely part of the charm of this place. Looking forward to our next trip!

First, let me say that Steve, the owner was fantastic. So accommodating to our group. When you pull in, the positive and peaceful energy abounds. We immediately noticed how clean the spot was AND, the site is large enough for several rigs. The river sits below the campsite but not to worry, there are steps down to the river where you will find a plunge pool, benches and additional chairs. Steve has added items that enhance the character of the surroundings. The setting is spectacular! Thank you for creating an amazing place!

There are so many good things to say about Steve’s place! It’s absolutely beautiful! Stunning! There’s plenty of space, power, water, steps down to the river, chairs, fire pit, solar lights to light up pathways, bug zappers, amazing views, exceptionally clean porta potties and more! Feels private and there’s something absolutely special about being amongst the trees. And did I mention the views of the river are ridiculously amazing?! Steve was very gracious, kind and hospitable. He made sure we got in okay and told us where everything was and how to access whatever it was we needed. He even had some firewood ready for our first night there. You can absolutely tell that Steve has put heart and soul into his spot. So many details and subtle things to make it feel inviting. It’s almost difficult to leave this review because more people will likely book his slice of paradise (as you should!) but Steve deserves credit for his excellent spot! Can’t wait to come back!

Riverfront Paradise!!!

Everything was great!!! The directions to the location were easy to navigate. The location was amazing taken care of so beautifully!!! Steve did a wonderful job at decorating it with little knick knacks and trinkets to make you feel at home, but the site still had an outdoor camping vibe!! The river roared and sounded beautiful at night. The chairs on the river bank were the best part, to just sit out there and relax. It was cold but I bet in the summer it will be a nice spot to sit and look at the stars and catch the water glistening off the moonlight. Can't wait to go back!!

This site was amazing and very peaceful. Steve was a fabulous host and made sure everything was in order. The site was huge, had two hookups, multiple chairs, fire pits, and tables. It really had anything you need. Aside from big trucks going by on the road you couldn’t hear any noise over the river as you are set back. I definitely plan on staying here again.

What an amazing spot. You could easily fit a few campers in here. We were solo just cause we like it like that. The camp is immaculate, the host Steve was amazing. You do get a little road noise due to the proximity of Hwy 126, but it's well worth it.

Camping on the river!

What a cool and unique spot! Steve was awesome helping us get our 40' 5th wheel in place. It was tight, but we made it! We unfortunately had to leave after 1 night but it was a gorgeous spot. Will definitely be back!

Absolute perfection. This place is one very large single campsite with 2 seperate hookups for a family or small group. It is in trees just feet away from the Mckenzie River. It has been immaculately cared for and is a fabulous lay out and design. The host was thoughtful about everything including putting a bamboo wall around the porta potty. It is so peaceful with the sound of the river. We were there 4.5 days and never saw another person. This is now in our list of places to return. And I can not do it justice with words.
