Pitch a tent in 28 acres of filbert trees which produce delicious Pacific Northwest hazelnuts. On hot summer days you’ll find the temperature under the orchard canopy almost 10 degrees cooler at the heat of the day. Feel free to roam the orchard, play a little hide and seek or bring a blanket and picnic. Winery, wine bar, pub, park and restaurant all within walking or bicycling distance.Reconnect with nature and escape the heat! On hot days the orchard is 10 degrees cooler under the shade of the canopy. Within walking or bicycle distance are fantastic amenities including the Aurora Colony Vineyards, Pheasant Run Tasting room (Friday summer concerts), Aurora Colony Pub (acoustic Thursday), Filbert Farmhouse Restaurant, White Rabbit Bakery, a local park and lots of antique stores. Within driving distance are tons of wineries, breweries, distilleries and the Woodburn Outlet Mall. Check out TheGoodVibesTour.com for winery, distillery and brewery tours.
Pets: there are dogs at the main house. If you come down for the shower, water, the toilet, or to look at the horses and goats, please leave pets at your vehicle or camp.
We have a couple firepits available to move to your camp if returned at the end of your stay. Bring your own firewood or buy a wheelbarrow load from us. From roughly July 1st until the fall rains, we have a burn ban in effect. Propane stoves and Fire pits always allowed. Canopies and shade covers are welcome. NO FIRES ARE ALLOWED WITHOUT A CONTAINED PIT.
Toilet - As you enter the property, the toilet is located at the end of the driveway between the last two trees. This is a portable toilet and is under the shade of the orchard to keep the temperatures and odors down.
Shower - There is an outdoor shower located in the orchard. Across the driveway from the toilet you will see several water hydrants. Look to the hydrant closest to the orchard and follow the hose until you find a cute outdoor shower along the trees. There is a water heater set up and you won't find a better view from another shower nearby! On the back side of the shower is a hose with potable filtered water.
Please note that from September 5th through October, campers and gear are only allowed in the first row of trees next to their vehicle because hazelnuts will be on the ground. After harvest, the full orchard is open again!
Last note: if you are a larger group and think you might be up late and possibly loud, please message me that you would like a private area where you can celebrate. We have room for larger groups but want to be sure you enjoy your stay and that our other guests enjoy their time in our peaceful paradise.
