I loved this place! Partly the location and partly the very nice people there.
About the location: it's not for everyone,; it is a bit of a drive including 5 miles on a scrabble road that is fine. But you get out and away from everyone and into a beautiful spot with a great view. Itâs also rather rustic that I like that soon they will have a bath house and itâll be different.
Thereâs an example of how they were nice to me: I am 72 years old and have some mobility issues. they were very cognizant of it and helped me get around a little bit. That was very sweet.
I would come back every year if I could.

The hosts were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. However, the directions were hard to follow since google maps lead me to a location 20+ minutes away from the actual location. With spotty internet, traversing logging roads with no signage was very difficult. Finally, upon arrival the main road going into the main property was made up of loose gravel that made going down and back up very difficult. Thankfully, I have a little Honda HRV and a getting a good 20 miles per hour start, I was able to get out. This property has beautiful potential but is also has a lot of clean up still to go. The hosts have been lovingly taking on the project to revive it these past two years. The property has views that were breathtaking. I look forward to going back, once more of their vision has been implemented.

I donât think Iâve ever seen better views from a camp spot. Completely epic views, make sure to ask the hosts about the lookout spot from the nearby top of the mountain - stunning. Thereâs also a nearby hike to a gorgeous waterfall, definitely plan an afternoon for that!

I've had the best time staying on this beautiful mountain with these wonderful people. There is absolutely nothing like waking up to mountain sunrises, and taking a dip in the cool creek after hiking on a hot day. This place is very special, and it's not just due to the breathtaking views. It's also because of the people there whose goal is to make it feel like both home and a new adventure all at once. I look forward to many many more trips back!

We felt so lucky to have stumbled upon Kat and her partnerâs beautiful little piece of property. The campsite itself gave stunning views of the night sky (we spotted the Milky Way and a shooting star!) We wished we had stayed longer so that we had more time to explore the area! Kat and her partner were so welcoming and communicative! Weâd love to return to this special place!

This spot is definitely a hidden gem! From incredible star-gazing to a beautiful sunrise, this spot is perfect for the view-seekers. Kat and her partner were such gracious hosts, thinking of the little things to help make us comfortable. They made themselves available if we needed anything throughout our stay as well. They have a little piece of heaven tucked away in the mountains of southern Oregon and theyâre dedicated to making it as special as possible! Getting to the Hipcamp is a little tricky even with detailed instructions so definitely give yourself time to get there as they are still working to perfect the off-grid navigation.

I had the pleasure of being one of the first guests to stay at this beautiful property. The hosts, Colman and Kat, are in the process of developing the property to turn it into a campground with all the amenities. I enjoyed hearing about their future plans. My tent site had an amazing view of Mt. McLoughlin. The nearby waterfall and swimming hole are stunning. The road is rough so you definitely need an AWD or 4WD to get there. I will definitely be back in the future and can't wait to see the future development of the property!

Gravel/ dirt road for about 30 minutes of the 45 minute drive off the highway to get to the property, would not recommend 2WD like I had but I still made it and man was that view worth it! Fantastic hosts and property!! Theyâre putting a lot of work in to cleaning up the land to eventually become a campground but even as is I would go back time and time again.

What a view and a hidden gem, truly. It's the early days for these camp hosts, and they have already poured so much of their hearts and souls into this breathtaking land. We had a killer spot, with unobstructed views of Mt McLoughlin, the canyon, and the Milky Way filled night sky. Peace abounds here, as did the hospitality from hosts Kat and Colman. They have a vision for all that the place will become, and it feels really special to have gotten to stay at The Hideouts and support that vision as it becomes reality.
Kat and Cameron were accommodating, communicative, and welcoming from our first HipCamp message, to our arrival, and all the way through to our departure.
Our trip down the canyon to hike to the waterfall was well worth the drive. 4WD required! Next time, we'll do the canyon hike as well.
Don't miss this spot - a little slice of heaven far away from distractions.
