Camper sleeps two in a queen with a smaller bed if you break down table. There is space for your party to include a tent for extra guests. Our historic south Empire oasis is a private, secluded and personal natural wildlife view spot. Coos Bay beauty at its best. Come visit our "little piece of Heaven" on the bay. We have kayaks, an outdoor kitchen and wifi! What more do you need. This year we are opening our gates to tours and gatherings. (We allow multiple cars not only one as listed) We are just minutes from beautiful beaches and hiking, (not to mention our own beach at the end of the walkway) mushrooming, crabbing and more. We would love to give you one of our several tours: Waterfalls, wild kayak Bonsai adventure, Ocean trail and more. Not only that, we can arrange for you to have coffee delivered to your door or a BBQ party for your party. Four hours south of Portland, two hours North of the CA boarder. Coos Bay has an regional airport made accessible by our world class golf course Bandon Dunes 1/2 hour from our place. The airport has one 55 minute flight a day to San Francisco. While the listing says "no wheel chair access" this is just for the camper because there are steps. If someone in your party has a wheelchair and would like to camp we can help you arrange the area for a tent or car camping for that individual but we do not have an accessible toilet other than an REI camp seat on bucket we can let you borrow if you promise to clean :) Our tiny house is on the same property as this camper. We have two gates so our guests have a private entrance with secure parking. There are two well behaved dogs, Figi and Kit and one cat, Riddle on the property. It is okay to have your well behaved dog off leash and a small camp fire most times of the year. We have an outdoor sitting area and BBQ. Small shower bath combo in the camper and in progress a dog washing station! Even though the photos illustrate the beauty and privacy to the West, we do hear some traffic to the East and the ground can be a bit muddy near the bay. We encourage guests to walk on the pathways vs the marsh which we are preserving if they head out to the sandy beach to clam or kayak. Bbq, private, stovetop or hot plate, fridge, freezer, cookware, cooking utensils, dishware, cutlery, basic seasoning and oils, sink or other dishwashing station. We live on the property so may also be outside but there are seperate fire areas and sitting areas.

If sitting at the camper table there is wifi but unclear how far beyond that it will reach. It will not reach to the beach area for example but works in the camper

Bring your own water, purify from tap. we have tap water some drink it but some may prefer to bring their own.
Pack it out
We ask guest to remove their own trash and can provide the address to a drop off area. If guests prefer we can set the trash out with ours for 35$ our fee for an extra can.

Such a beautiful space and lovely hosts. Completely relaxed, gorgeous views, many kayak and canoe options. They made amazing coffee for us and gave lots of recommendations on where to go. Highly recommend.

This was an amazing spot to stay, the hosts were very accommodating and the kindest people you will meet. Dave told us the best places to go and brought us water to the camper when we arrived and Mimi provided us with fresh towels and coffee. Strawberry island is beautiful with lots of beach to comb over for treasures. Their property is conveniently located near many restaurants and public beaches. This is the first Hipcamp we have stayed at that offered a shower and this one has a view! This was an incredible experience with incredible people.

It was truly the best weekend getaway! The property was beautiful and absolutely perfect to have your dog safely off leash. Our camper set up was perfect for the 3 of us and my dog, we all were super cozy. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and had great recommendations for sight seeing. My friends and I had a blast and will be back!

Strawberry Island Bayview camper
Our stay at Strawberry Island was amazing. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We enjoyed hanging out on the communal deck watching the bird activity and the lovely sunsets. The peaceful atmosphere made it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. Communal Fire pit was great for burning big fires and cooking hotdogs and making smores. It quickly became a favorite evening tradition for our group, and we loved sharing stories under the stars. Melissa and Dave gave us great advice on site seeing and hikes in the area. Their recommendations helped us discover hidden gems we wouldn’t have found on our own, making our trip even more memorable.

Strawberry Island Bayview camper
We loved our stay here! Melissa and Dave were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. Our dog loved playing with their two super sweet dogs, and there are few things nicer than walking right out to the water from the camper to have coffee or watch the sunset. The camper was cozy and warm, bed was comfy, and overall delightful place to stay.
