Red Horse Ranch
Red Horse Ranch was a great place to spend a quiet nite on our way to Crater Lake NP. Beautiful pines, beautiful horses. Laura was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Great place to stay if you’re traveling to or through the Bend area.

Tent camping was perfect! Our dogs loved watching the horses. Very clean bathroom and quiet, exactly what we were looking for! Would recommend!

We had an excellent time tent camping at Red Horse Ranch! Everything is clearly marked and easy. Our host provided a table, chairs, and umbrella. All paths are lit with solar lights which is a great touch. This is the best port-a-potty I've ever used and I make it a point not to use many! We played bags one night while unwinding which was really nice. We used this location as a launching off point for Newberry Caldera and Crater Lake. Don't sleep on the coffee stand at the turn onto 6th ... The drinks are yummy and cheap!

Great little spot!! Loved having my horse fix and water and bathroom are always nice (just a porto-potty but still a plus in my book). Host was super sweet and loves the little touches of automatic nights at light on the bistro table and in fireplace!! Very cute

Red Horse Ranch
This was such a sweet little place! My husband, our six-year old son and I stayed at the trailer site, on our spur-of-the-moment camping trip. The owners live on-site, but it feels much more private and it was so much less chaotic than other campgrounds; they are super kind people too. It’s located close to La Pine State Park, and close to mountain biking and other trails too. We felt comfortable allowing our son to do more “exploring” than we would at a campsite with more people/cars/trailers, and he adored the horses on the property (I did too!).

We went to an overland Expo in Redmond and thought this would work perfect for an overnight stay. There are 3 sites. We stayed in site one since we have a rooftop tent and it is a pull in site. There are two other sites further in on the property where you can pitch a ground tent. You can’t drive to those sites but they are only a short walk from the parking area. They are nice and secluded and give enough privacy between the two sites to relax and enjoy yourself. We were able to have a fire which always makes camping fun. In the morning we made coffee and sat at the table by the horses. They are a joy to watch. There is a port a potty on site. It was very clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

A great, spacious, wooded area with thoughtful amenities like tables and chairs, clean loos and solar lights. Plenty of level spots to pitch a tent. I had one of the walk in sites (#2) and it was maybe 100 yards from the parking spot. Friendly horses, quiet neighborhood. Lots of trees. It didn’t feel like backyard camping at all.
This is a great stop if you’re road-tripping north - super convenient from the highway. Didn’t get to meet the owners but Laura sent directions and a phone number ahead of time in case I had any questions. Would stay here anytime.

Beautiful property in the woods, and Laura is great! She met us upon arrival (last minute thing), showed us around, and introduced us to the awesome horses. All sites well kept and clean toilets. One of the best tent camping values around, definitely recommend it!

Beautiful land ! Quite at night not like other campgrounds where you hear people till 1 am ,loud an even tho your kinda close to a road (not a busy one) you hear no cars at night the host were very nice an accommodating an they are genuinely good people! First time camping off here an definitely have to say will do again me an husband are making yearly trips up there might be back before summers over to bring our kiddo! definitely a relaxing getaway if your looking for one an not to mention the horses are beautiful!!! An love the attention hah

Fantastic place, good communication, flexible, and lovely space. 100% would recommend and stay again. Horses were lovely. Fire wood was available when we were there. Best part, more improvements coming! Amazing disk golf course 1 mile away.

I stayed at Laura’s ranch for 6 nights. Laura was very helpful in assisting me parking my teardrop trailer and then hitching up my trailer. The grounds are well kept.

Laura was super friendly and the campsite was perfect. There were some outdoor lanterns set up which created nice ambiance. The porta potty was clean and had a touch light inside.

Due to the COVID situation, we decided to camp instead of staying one night at a hotel in bend, OR. We had one night stay at Laura and Robert's place. They are very nice but also give you enough privacy. The site is quiet and cozy. The restroom is very clean.

We throughly enjoyed our stay on Laura property! She thought every convenience you could need while camping. The outdoor restrooms were very clean and there was ample seating for impromptu picnics and even hammocks in the public space. And the horses were a dream! We wanted to bring Cheyenne home with us! We would definitely recommend her property to others wanting to visit the Bend area.

This was a great experience. We got to be in a super private spot since no one was in the site next to us during our whole stay. It was fun to hangout with Laura while she was taking care of the horses and if it weren't for the burn ban I would've definitely spent more time at the front where a communal fire would've been. The lights were pretty and very helpful especially when hobbling to the bathroom in the moddle of the night. There is a long calm river float within walking distance and she even let me borrow her can opener since I forgot mine. Super great spot, definitely coming back sometime.

This site and the hosts were absolutely fantastic. They made my husband and I feel so welcome, and provided a safe place for us to relax. They even brought me cupcakes because one of the days we were staying was my birthday!!! So sweet… if we ever spend time in Bend again, we will absolutely be staying at Ref Horse Ranch. 🙂

We luckily found Laura's ranch stay very last minute. We had a wonderful time talking with Laura about her horses, land, and hobbies (she's a jewelry maker!). We learned so much about horses, and got to witness their personalities when feeding them supplied carrots. 😊 We stayed in the vehicle-sleeping spot, but the "walk-in" spots are not that far of a walk. There is a larger gathering space lit with solar lights (a nice touch!) and two hammocks, which we enjoyed both evenings. We were there over the Fourth of July weekend so there was added road traffic noise, but the how close the ranch was to a grocery store, it was a good compromise. And the biffy was the cleanest I have ever seen! We enjoyed our stay an look forward to the next time we can visit.
