Learn more about this land: Campsites are gravel parking with park-like lawn, well kept, and surrounded by a small picnicking area with extra parking, porta potty, garbage receptical, BBQs, tables and chairs on sprawling grassy lawns shaded with 100 year old large trees. Perfect for a large group. We have a big tree swing and an adult size teeter totter for you to enjoy. There is a horseshoe area. The camping sites are back in only, so if you have trouble backing in, I am happy to help. Each spot has a fire pit with first firewood supplied, (additional be purchased) and a picnic table. Surrounding area is sagebrush, 2 miles from Wallowa National Forest with miles and miles of wilderness trails, lakes and Mountain fishing, ATVs, hiking, biking. You can ride your ATVs right from the camp. There is huckleberry and mushroom picking in early summer and late spring. Local wildlife consists of deer, elk, eagles and owls, pheasants, quail, wild turkeys, all kinds of birds, (even an occasional farm chicken may wander by) and coyotes and frogs calling at night. My friendly labs like to come say hi. Campsites are for tents or RVs. Our electric is shared among the campsites. Our water is from a wonderful deep cold well that’s piped to a shared outlet in the middle of the RV camp. Bring a hose to hook up, we have one if you need one. Guest Wi-Fi if you’re close to the store. Cell service is limited. I do allow generators if you are not sharing the park with anyone else. If you’re the only ones, no quiet time, if others are camping, quiet time is from 10:00 pm - 7:00 am. Site 1: largest fire pit, close to the power hook up, the most shady spot but still sunny, closest to the park. Site 2: A bit of shade, most of the day in sun. Closest to water hook up. Site 3: A Sunny site, a little late afternoon shade. A little more privacy as it’s the last spot. Farthest stretch for water and power, but I provide an extension power cord to it. Our little store has items you may need if you run out or forget something. We also sell regular gas.

Great spot, great host! We were only there for a night unfortunately, but I’d love to stay longer sometime. Also, the deer are friendlier than you might expect, so go live your Snow White dreams!

I enjoyed my one night at this historic location; I wish I could have spent more time with Lori and her lovely Dad, hearing about the the Geographic Center of the U.S.! Take the time to read all the news articles they have posted on the walls in their wonderful store - and get some great Farm Fresh Eggs too!

The host responded in a timely manner. The property was easy to get too. The property was beautiful. Enjoyed learning about the history if the town. I was able to enjoy a delicious snack from the local store on the property. I felt safe and slept well. I would definitely revisit and recommend this location!!!

Wake up to deer! Rustic and unique

We showed up with our small sports Mobile pop-up, my daughter’s SUV, and a tent. Lori and Jim were incredible hosts. We arrived pretty late, but they had us set up with kindling and plenty of firewood, we had a small fire and went to bed. There were coyotes howling in the distance, we woke up to over a dozen deer meandering around, ducks in a pond. Sort of like being in a Bambi movie. Their little store is super cute and they were warm and inviting. I was super stoked on the rural vibe and the abundance of wildlife, you will never get that at an RV park! There was electricity and potable water readily available at our site, for one. The fire pit was awesome and there is a girl on top so we could cook hotdog on it. They are super nice people and if I had to do it over again, I would spend two nights there. It’s a nice halfway point between Jackson hole and Hood River, you gotta get off the freeway a little bit, but don’t we all want to get off the freeway a little bit? There are not any showers in the restroom. Facilities consist of a porta potty like you find on a construction site, but it was really clean and stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Our house said it sometimes gets windy up there so that is something to be aware of if you are in a tent. However, we were taking a couple of new campers with us, and the wildlife alone was worth coming back again, pretty incredible to see, deer, ducks and horses for city folk. Great experience!

Such a great spot! Love the history and amazing hosts. We walked around the area and enjoyed going in the market. Would definitely recommend. We had the place to ourselves.

Very peaceful. Easily got my 40 foot trailer in. The little store was great. We was able to get up into the mountains fast and into baker city fast. Seen a lot of deer passing through camp

Cute and quaint. A little quirky with some nice surprises. Note this is 25 minutes from Baker City. Having the little store onsite was useful. The owners are warm, and the local history was interesting. Having nice grass on which to pitch the tent was appreciated.

We loved this remote camp spot for our little RV. It was so peaceful and pretty: the pond with lots of tall cattails and flowers, the ducks walking through camp to get to the water, the many birds flying overhead, the deer, the colorful sunsets, and the star-filled night sky. We had the entire place to ourselves the first night. It was so quiet. The second night a family of 6 came in. The sites are right next to each other so less private and peaceful but still very pleasant. I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful secluded camp in a cool location in the Oregon desert. Only stayed one night, but had the whole camp to ourselves. Quiet peaceful. No cell reception. It was wonderful!

Really chill place to stay. Ducks and Magpies roamed through the camp. Great vibe being an old ghost town. Host was pleasant and there was a little store that sold ice cream and sundries. Panoramic views. Close to town. And you have to try the teeter totter.

We just got back from a weekend at this peaceful and charming campsite and had a great time overall. The site was spacious, grassy, and shaded, with a great fire pit and potable water. We loved the duck pond, seeing deer and bunnies daily, and having access to the little store for treats like hot chocolate and popsicles. The hosts were kind and welcoming, and we really appreciated being able to let our well-behaved dogs off leash—they loved running around and playing with their dog Missy. The property is full of history and truly feels like a hidden gem. We also enjoyed visiting the horses and cooling our feet in the creek at the back of the property. A few things to note: the porta potty was in really rough shape and had not been maintained in a very long time possibly years, which made it unpleasant when the wind shifted and was unpleasant to have to use. The host did apologize, but it’s something to be aware of. There was also a mix-up with the check-in time, we arrived 10 minutes early based on the confirmation email but were told it was actually an hour later. They still let us in, but it felt a bit awkward. We also had to do frequent tick checks on us and the dogs, so come prepared. All in all, a beautiful spot with a lot of potential. If the restroom was better maintained and check-in timing was clearer, we would definitely return.

Unique and delightful, Pondosa is small and unpretentious, perfect for a casual relaxing stay. It IS Pondosa. We searched by “Pondosa, Or” and maps took us right to it. Fun to say you’ve been to the geographic center of US, too. We stayed one night on our way to Boise, then Yellowstone. It fit nicely into our agenda.

This was a fantastic stop. I would have missed this beautiful road to go the back way. The spots were large enough and the access was easy. My dog had plenty to smell and the birds sang during our coffee. This place is for solitude and off the busy road.

Beautiful spot and easy to get too. Lori was extremely kind and her property is well kept with lots of wild life. Only about 40 minutes to Baker City as well and 30 from the hot springs!

Would recommend! Me and three of my friends slept in two tents on the property. The weather was rainy so we set up under trees for some extra coverage. Lori and her dog were so nice!! She showed us around, supplied fire wood, and we realized the one smores thing we forgot was graham crackers and she literally gave us some out of her personal pantry! The birds (magpies & red winged black bird especially) and ducks around were top tier to watch in the morning & spotting some owls after night fall following their hoots. In the morning when the weather cleared up we used the swing and see-saw for some giggles and to get stoked for our day of adventures!

Loved the peaceful stopover…camp was shared with a few dozen California quail in camp that night, and an equal number of red-winged blackbirds in the rushes by the pond the next morning. Pure bliss!

Overall, was an okay spot. Spots were very close together and thankfully there was no one else there. No shade at all in Sunny Spot 3. I think the photos could be more transparent to show how close to road the sites are and the overall layout.

Peaceful Oasis
Glamping Yurt Tent with power
The yurt was very comfortable! We sat in the chairs and read in the evening, it was very peaceful. It was nice to have the horses, deer, and ducks around. A lovely overnight stop.

Lori was super friendly and greeted us as soon as we arrived and she gave us a quick tour of the land. The tent was super cute and the set up in general was very nice. We loved the string lights over the picnic tables to hang out at. Lots of friendly animals in the area - ducks, deer, chickens, cats, and dogs! Loved that she had a store where you could purchase drinks, snacks, and other amenities that you may need.
