Serenity on the River
Great adventure bike camping.
My son and I was exploring the area on adventure bikes and camped on river at Larry and Michelle's ranch. It was great. The camp site was right on the river and was quiet, just the sound of the water, just what we needed after a long day of riding. There is lots of great motorcycle roads nearby both paved and and unpaved. Loved not being packed into noisy campground. Will stay again in the future.

Michelle and OB sure know how to do it right! Hospitable and provided us with water and ice. Very secluded camp spot right on the river. We came during a high water month so it was too swift to play in, but the fishing was fun and the sound was perfect to sleep to. Lots of accessible hiking around the Imnaha...we did a lot with our family of 5. Looking at coming back when the waters lower for even more fun! So many animals too!....wild turkeys, deer, cows, horses peacocks and chickens!

What a gorgeous, off the grid campsite! We enjoyed sitting by the river and going for a long walk. Note that there is no cell service and the only facility is an outhouse. A great place to unplug!

Great experience! Michelle was very communicative about directions and checking in. The ranch has very interesting history and the camp site was nice and secluded. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Secluded Beautiful River Camping
What a special place. We are grateful that Michelle and Larry are willing to share their land with campers like us. It was a perfect secluded get away for 4 nights right on the rivers edge with lots of land to explore and walk. We are Eurovan campers and it was easy access for us. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Camping at the ranch was pure enjoyment. We did not see or hear anything but the rushing river and the surrounding woods. The stars at night we’re amazing and there was plenty to explore on the property and nearby.

Gem of a spot
This place is so special. A beautiful river to dunk in, trails to explore, delightful Larry and Michelle give you space but are so helpful as well, clean outhouses, wild turkeys, and deer! We wanted to stay forever!

Magical private oasis
What a beautiful spot, extremely private and well-located directly on the Imnaha River, which was still high enough to sit/wade in to cool off at mid-July.
We didn’t see a single other person on site unless we wanted to. There’s potable water and gallon jugs frozen for you to replenish your supply available at the ranch house, and you can pay for a shower if you like.
Sites were clean and had a picnic table, River access and a pit outhouse, and everything was amazing. It’s about 40 mins to Halfway and about an hour or more to Joseph to resupply, so plan ahead in terms of food and ice if you’re gonna be there awhile (we were four women and stayed a week).
If you’re into spicy local color type history, Larry will tell you lots of stories about the history of the ranch.
We are 100% coming back, thanks for a perfectly great week of nature immersion!

Beautiful campsite
We absolutely loved this spot. Aptly named! Middle of nowhere, which was just what we were looking for. And so many amazing outdoor possibilities nearby. It would be nice to have a water tank/spigot near the camp, but we brought a 5-gallon container and that got us through (plus a few liters of river water purified with a Steripen). Would love to come back here.

Serenity on the Imnaha River
The site was right on the Riverbank and we greatly enjoyed the privacy and open feel in this beautiful countryside . The Outhouse was clean and having a table to cook on helped a lot , in the evening we loved having a small fire to sit around and view the unbelievable clear night skies . Also enjoyed learning about the awesome history of the ranch , we are looking forward to come back .

Privacy right on the Imnaha
We love this corner of Oregon and jumped at the chance to stay on some private land away from the crowds you would find at Wallowa Lake. Beautiful spots right on the Imnaha River, you couldn't ask for a more perfect location. Apparently we just missed the chinook salmon run. We didn't see another camper the whole time we were there even though there were 2-3 other groups somewhere on the property. Larry and Michelle were great hosts, giving us the tour of the historic homestead and free firewood. Now that I am home, I will have to watch some Eugene Pallette movies.

Otherworldly
This place was incredible. Well worth my 2 hour detour. They were so welcoming and accommodating to me and my dog! I had no idea what to expect since it’s so far off the beaten path and they really made me feel at home. Michelle was just the sweetest soul with the kindest eyes and led me to my own private hideaway on the river. The whole experience was otherworldly.

Hidden haven in Hell’s Canyon
Pallette Ranch is off the beaten path and so worth the journey. Our campsite was very private and on the banks of the Imnaha River. Larry offered some great history of the property and showed us some of the artifacts. A great spot.

So wonderful! We were truly blown away by the campsite. No frills which is just how we like it - plenty of privacy, easy access to cool and clear water for cooling down on a hot day, lots of fun for the pups and even some new and very clean outhouses installed on the property. We wished we could have stayed all week long! Michelle was very warm and welcoming and made sure we had all we needed upon arrival. The hosts are really building something special out here and already looking forward to our next visit.
