Learn more about this land: PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING We have a small area in our Alpaca pasture designated for campers. We are a short drive (2miles) to down town Hermiston. Our ranch has been here since the 1940's and has decreased in size since its days as a potato farm. The Alpacas are shy but curious. They are not dangerous but do not like dogs 🐕‍đŸŠș and other small animals. (Please keep pets on a leash) We remove the Alpacas and mow the camping areas but please keep in mind that this is a pasture that is used when campers are not present. Please be prepared. This is a working ranch and there will be animals🩙 , bugs🐜 , and poopđŸ’© in the pasture. River Front Park on the Umatilla River is within walking distance and the Columbia River is a short drive. In the summer we have several farms in the area with fresh produce for sale and  Blueberry picking just down the road. You won't want to leave town without picking up a world famous Hermiston Watermelon! Such a lovely place to stop. The alpacas and pigs are so cute and friendly! Great hosts! Definitely looking forward to coming through this area and staying again. (For those that might be sensitive to noise, it is located between two busy streets. For us, that was no big deal as it was more like white noise.)

We enjoyed camping among the alpacas, llamas and pot-bellied pigs. While curious, they kept their distance after initially coming over to welcome us and say hello. We were on motorcycles and the animals all seemed unshaken by the noise or movement. The location was easy to find and we were able to come and go as we pleased.

Very easy to get to from the highway. The alpacas and pigs were so fun!! The pigs were so friendly- our kids loved meeting them.

We loved staying with the baby pigs and alpacas! The alpacas were welcome neighbors and this was a lovely space to wait out a heat wave in the shade.

Fantastic place we loved so much that we added a stop on our return trip to stay here again! Being greeted by great hosts (including many alpacas) was such a joy. This will be a a recurring visit for us in the future. Thanks Jennifer and Eric!

A fantastic experience. It was so fun to wake up with Charlie ( the alpaca ) hanging out by out camper. She went above and beyond in spending time with our family the next morning, when we met the rest of the alpacas, llama and other farm family.

Loud and Rude Neighbors

The Place itself is really cute, but the neighbors are unacceptable. Screaming around, partying and we heard some rather sad language. The Neighbors saw us camping there and decided to go to their car and honk for 30 seconds straight at 3am in the morning. I of course know that the Host does not take fault for that, but I can't recommend this place to anyone. The place is also between 2 very busy streets.

We had a wonderful night at the Alpaca farm. Jennifer accepted our last minute reservation and was very welcoming. Our little one loved the alpacas, pigs, and various foul. Definitely would recommend for a night or two if you have the chance to stay in the area.

We enjoyed camping at Jennifer's place. She was very responsive, and allowed us to make our reservation on very short notice. We had a truck camper and a tent. The pasture was flat and accessible. And the animals were super adorable.

Jennifer was a great host, and having an alpaca for a “roommate” (granted on the other side of the fence) was amazing! A country feel but close to shopping and restaurants. Highly recommend!

Pasture at a busy intersection

Our host was prompt and friendly and communication was great. Access to the site was super easy to get in and out. The site is pretty much an unimproved animal pasture though. So lots of poop and flies (at least in Sept). And the farm sits at the intersection of 2 busy roads, so you hear constant traffic at all hours. The proximity to Pendleton is plus, but I'd consider this a place to stay only if there were no other options.

Everything about the farm is delightful... the setting, animals, and hosts. Jen and Eric are wonderful hosts. We enjoyed being guests in their beautiful pasture and waking up to views of alpacas all around us. We appreciated the opportunity to have hands on time with the alpacas....we learned so much from their expertise. Look forward to going back!

We really enjoyed our Hip Camp experience! We planned a fun week at Hermiston and Walla Walla and really wanted to include the alpacas for my birthday party! We had a fun “meet and greet”and oh my goodness the alpacas were the cutest !!! It was HOT as it was the middle of August, but would totally stop here again when traveling through town!

Eric is a really nice host. The area where we park the camper is an alpaca field. It feels safe though there are multiple areas with alpaca poop thus must be careful not to step on it; specially at night time and with kids. In the morning, due to the very large amount of flies it was impossible to sit outside and have breakfast. Interestingly, it was not a problem at night when we arrived. It otherwise worked well for a last minute overnight stop from a long drive.

Jen and Eric' place was great and the Alpacas were so cute. Got some good photo's and fed them. Jen and Eric were hospitable, friendly, and got us settled. Great little stop-over.. Left with fresh chicken and duck eggs!

What a fun place to park for the night. I set up camp then relaxed with a beer and some alpaca watching. It’s a beautiful place!
