This was our first Hipcamp experience and Richard couldn’t have been a better host. He had a campfire going when we got there and introduced us to his animals. Our only complaint would be the lack of a toilet. We are in the middle of building out our van and don’t have a toilet yet so selected this spot for the toilet. Unfortunately the toilet wasn’t there since it was winter, which is understandable, but posting should be updated. We would love to come back in the summer when everything is blooming and not muddy.

The booking never happened due to host communication disconnect.. I have yet to hear from the host in regard to a refund. The booking was for 9/9/24-9/11/24. We had to scramble late day to find other accommodations with a travel trailer. Super disappointed!!!

Unfortunately, this booking never happened due to the host being unresponsive to several attempts to get in touch prior to arrival. Attempts over email, text and phone (full v/m box) prior to our arrival as estimated were met with no response. It was learned after the fact that the host phone number was wrong, on top of all the other issues of trying to get in touch. We were forced to make other accommodations the day of for the three days that were booked with this host. Two weeks later and still no response to a refund request. I have lost confidence in seeing any sort of resolution from host or Hipcamp. This organization will no longer be an option for me.

This spot is so cool. Highly recommend this camp spot. Rich has made a safe and beautiful spot to call home for a night or more. Booking a couple nights again when I head back to AZ for the Fall. Host and kids are awesomeness personified also. Great conversations!

Richard was very communicative and helpful. He was also extremely accommodating and provided clear directions to the site. The area was absolutely stunning, my friends and I had a very relaxing camping experience. Mini horses and chickens roamed around the property, adding to the rural and relaxing nature to the visit. Highly recommend this place!

We would definitely return to Richard's property. It was very easy to find and he was so friendly and helpful. He even had a campfire started for us before we got there and took time to show us the property and offered us some fresh greens and chicken eggs. The property is a nice open field shared with 2 mini horses, free range chickens, and a flock of geese. He had a nice sized lean to, a fire pit, a table, and some chairs for us in the camp area. The one downfall is that the roosters, geese, and wild turkeys get pretty noisy starting around 4am, but that can also be an upside depending on how you look at it- it is time spent in nature! The area around the property is pretty rural and quiet, just a touch of traffic noise from the back roads. Good cell phone service from the camp site. LOTS to do in the Jacksonville area for hiking, outdoor adventure and wining/dining. Overall we had a great stay and thanks to Richard for making us feel very welcome!
