Cedar Moon, the residential community at Tryon Farm, welcomes you to our lovely land! Seven acres of orchard, garden, miscellaneous trees and bushes, and goats and chickens surrounded by the 700-acre Tryon Creek State Park (there's an access trail from our land) is accessible from your space in The Shack. You're welcome to explore the land and enjoy the communal fire pit in the Village Green, and have access to the shared Outdoor Kitchen that has a stove, sink, toaster oven, plates and utensils, and electric kettle, all in a central location. There's a compostable toilet 100 meters away, with an outdoor sink of gravity-fed rainwater. You're also welcome to use the facilitrees! (aka, pee in the woods) There's no shower available. Portland is a 15-minute drive away, with many activities and music scenes, nightlife, art, museums, and more! The Willamette River runs through it, with swimming places, as well as wilder spots a bit farther away. The land is lived on by about 20 people, not all of whom will be available to engage.Lovingly named The Shack, this small space with a full bed, desk and wall mounted wood stove is surprisingly spacious. Historically home to residents of the farm this space has now become available for campers to enjoy. Just steps away from the communal Outdoor Kitchen you’ll have access to all the farm has to offer. Parking is close by to this little shack with an easy walk with a slight decline to the porch of this charming room. Composting toilet is located not far down a path and up 6 steps. Sometimes this spot is quiet and other times it’s bustling with farm activities and onsite summer camp. Paths from the front door take you all around the farm to the chickens, orchard, goat barn and directly to the trail head to Tryon Creek State Park. Enjoy the sounds of the forest with the perks of being 10 min away from downtown. These buildings have a porous barrier with the natural world, so there are bugs and cats and soil around. Come visit The Shack if you want to experience a closer connection with nature in a beautiful location!

The Shack
What a wonderful little spot! Loved it! Host was very responsive, and what a great location abutting the State Park, accessible via a little trail! Will definitely be back!
