The access is super close to the 101, although you will hear traffic on a busy night. The 4-legged camp-host was friendly and checked on us a couple times quietly (Neeka!). The neighbor's dog was the loud one. Very private. Flat parking spot, and flat spot for tent. Tent spot was too close to firepit, but we weren't going to use it. So nice to have a picnic table! There was a clean porta-potty.

Je n’ai pas rencontrer l’hôte. Bref ce n’est pas mon genre site, même si j’adore être en forêt.

This was one of the best places we have stayed with Hip Camp. The yurt was tiptop clean. The property spacious was peaceful. Janean did not bother us but was there if we needed her. We recommend this place to everyone. J & C

Yurt at Burgess Backyard
The location to beaches, lakes, and town can't be beat. Great local recommendations as well! The yurt is very homey complete with kitchen essentials such as full-size fridge, 2-burner hot plate, We had duck eggs each morning, and loved hearing the ducks quacking and watching them bathe. We loved looking up to the sky at night from the yurt!

Everything was great. Janine was a wonderful host and the yurt was clean, comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed the big swing, the fire pit, and the visits from dog and ducks. We will definitely recommend this place to friends.

Perfect after a long day of travel! I got to meet the dog, berry sweet. Made a quick trip to the dunes across the PCH.y travels started in Washington DC so it was awesome to see the Pacific!

We loved tent camping at the Burgess campsite! The site is super spacious and private. The outhouse is clean and the site is surrounded by beautiful forest. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to camp close to town!

Yurt at Burgess Backyard
We are so grateful to Janine and her family for letting our pretty large family rent out her yurt and campsite. We loved the ducks greeting us upon our arrival, which she let the little ones feed. Her dog was also a big hit! The cozy yurt had everything we could need or want. The rain coming down on the yurt roof was magical sounding. We loved hanging around the campfire, Janine sells firewood which was super convenient. We made such great memories here and would recommend to anyone who wants to experience glamping close to town! Thank you Janine and family for sharing your lovely property with us! 🩷

This was our first yurt and it was the best experience, so inviting and cozy. We felt so safe and secured, it was quiet from outside noises, and had everything we would need. I’m so jealous of Janine’s gorgeous lot, beautiful pets, fun swing, and cool roof of the yurt! Would for sure love to come back with a bigger group, it was right by the Lake, sand dunes, and sweet creek trails. This place checked all my boxes for sure when searching for glamping.

Loved camping on Janine’s property. It was wonderful to hear the ducks and we got to meet her sweet dog! Extremely friendly and cozy environment and I loved that there was a porta potty. 😊
We also got to enjoy the awesome swing there! I felt like a kid again. The duck eggs were a wonderful addition to a skillet we made for dinner too!

We loved our stay here! The site is a private patch of forest that somehow feels tucked away, while still being incredibly close to town for groceries and any last-minute needs. It was surprisingly quiet for the location, and the little microclimate on the property meant we got to enjoy calm evenings/afternoons even when the wind picked up in Florence.
Janine was warm, communicative, and welcoming from the start—she even had a campfire for the kids on our last night. My kids had a great time with hers, especially enjoying the rope swing, corn hole, and the adorable ducks roaming around. The portapotty was super clean, and the space itself was more generous than most campsites we’ve booked. We even ended up staying a little longer than planned, and she was flexible and kind throughout. She also had many recommendations for the area which was deeply appreciated.
Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a convenient yet peaceful stay with a lovely local vibe. Would absolutely return—10/10!

Nice site, quiet and peaceful. Easy to get to from the highway and great to have the Porta-potty. Also enjoyed the rope swing. Only there overnight but the picnic table and fire grill were set up nicely.

What a great place to spend the July 4th weekend, this time around, in the Yurt. Janine, as always, was the most accommodating host. Will be definitely recommending both Burgess sites to friends and family, when they are in Florence, Oregon.

Perfect place to camp for a private, sweet spot. You can definitely hear the cars on the road but it's not too loud, amazing access to a cute downtown, with hiking and the ocean nearby. The bird calls and ducks are amazing, and there is shade, a picnic table, porta-potty, and fire pit, everything you could need. Definitely bring bug spray and warm layers for morning and evening, and enjoy this gorgeous spot! We recommend buying the deck eggs. We ate half a dozen and then bought a dozen as a gift for friends.

Great private safe and clean spot in a lovely forest. Janine communicated kindly ahead of time and allowed us our privacy. Beautiful bird songs in evening and morning. This was a refreshing stop for us. The outhouse was the cleanest I’ve ever seen ;)

This was a perfect place to stay in Florence. Super cozy and roomy yurt, unbeatable convenient location (but also plenty private). Great outside area as well - fire pit, sitting areas, parking, DUCKS. Janine was a great host, very responsive. Everything was as described and worked great - WiFi, heater, great pots and pans etc. Just a lovely lovely place to stay. Would love to come back for a longer stay.

My family of 4 loved staying in the yurt! The yurt alone was well kept and comfortable. It is attached to the house by a door that locks on both sides. It feels private and has a full private bathroom attached between the house and the yurt. The entire property is fun for children. I have a 10yo, 9yo and 5yo. They romped in the forest, built forts in the rain and enjoyed spending time with the host family. The host family went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. We enjoyed the fire-pit for s’mores and family friendly animals. We were close to the ocean, sand dunes, old town Florence, a beautiful lighthouse, etc. Eugene is an hour away for a day trip. We highly recommend staying here!

Yurt at Burgess Backyard
Me and my family were on a trip to the oregon coast to visit family. I wanted to try something different than a regular hotel, mainly because we had a real bad experience in a hotel on the
coast the last time. We thought Janine's yurt look fun and cozy. One of the nicest things was that we were both super close to Florence, while also being tucked away in a beautiful forest. We went on a trip with my youngest daughter who really enjoyed meeting Janine's kids, and her ducks. Me and my wife's enjoyed checking out the beautiful property. The yurt itself was what we were expecting, a comfy little place that felt like camping, while also giving us homely amenities. As mentioned before, it was a great base camp to be able to explore Florence and the surrounding area. We really had a good time and look forward to being able to come back in the summer!

Janine was very friendly and we got to meet the flock, something you don’t want to miss out on! The spot was very secluded and felt very safe. Also a ton of area to enjoy and have fun! I would definitely recommend.

Such friendly and accommodating hosts! Beautiful location just across the bridge from Florence! The Yurt is incredible, not your typical yurt! Fully furnished, plenary of blankets/pillows and had everything we needed to cook full meals! Will definitely stay again! Thanks!

The directions were well thought out and explained easily. The camping site was great and far enough from their house so you had privacy. The host was very kind and she let us meet her ducks and dog in the morning! It was a great stay on our way along the coast.
