Breathtaking Views in The Dalles

Dispersed camping is available on a 12-acre property just 10 minutes from downtown The Dalles. The land offers a beautiful view of Mt. Hood and a partial view of Mt. Adams, featuring sunsets that will truly take your breath away. Our property is located within the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, an 80-mile stretch of protected land that stands as the largest national scenic area in the United States. This region is world-renowned for its high concentration of waterfalls, endless hiking trails, sweeping vistas, and iconic scenic drives. We offer one very large dispersed camping site on the property with easy road access. The site is very secluded, flat, and private, but it is completely undeveloped. Vehicles with higher clearances are recommend. However, parking along the gravel road is also an option. For those looking to explore on foot, there is a stunning hike to a nearby bird sanctuary. The trail follows a scenic ridge for several miles, providing constant views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, the Columbia River, and the surrounding cherry orchards. If you visit from mid-April to mid-May, you will find the property completely transformed, as it becomes covered in vibrant Balsamroot and a variety of other local wildflowers. You will not find a more secluded site, with such stunning views and access to a bird sanctuary in the Columbia River Gorge.

Insanely beautiful views. Super remote and quiet. Everything we wanted. Great communication by Crystal. Had to put the truck in 4wd to get up the gravel road with my trailer. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of.

Quiet and private. The meadow isn't developed but was able to find a relatively flat spot. It was nice that there was access to the Mill Creek Ridge Preserve which was a really beautiful hike with lovely views of Mt Hood and Adams.

100/10 stay. My baby sister and I spent the day/ night on Crystal’s land and it was a breathtaking experience. We are so grateful for beautiful humans like Crystal being willing to share her slice of heaven with the world. I had silly questions; she was quick to answer. Will definitely be back soon. Thank you Crystal!

The views are truly beautiful! It’s quite rugged and I would say, if you don’t have high suspension and all wheel drive, you should consider a different opportunity.

Stayed at the top of the world site. Had a great but very short stay. Camped in our vehicle. Loved the proximity to the bird sanctuary and the hosts flexibility on check in time to accommodate our travel plans. Would definitely stay again if we come back to the area

Beautiful spot and very quiet. Meadowlarks and ravens were the only sounds I heard. Great view across the valley so even with the mountains hiding in the clouds it was a visual treat. Big rocks hiding in the grass mostly in the upper area so best to scout your route before driving in.

Crystal had such great communication as a host, we couldn’t arrive in time to meet her in person so she took a video to explain how to get to our site. We also got to enjoy a private hot tub soak under the stars after a long day of traveling- what a wonderful location tucked away in a cherry orchard and close to some great hikes!
