Robinia’s Rest - Primitive Group

Booked 2 times
Tent site · Sleeps 6
🌿 Robinia’s Rest — A Hidden Grove Beneath the Locusts Welcome to Robinia’s Rest, named for the tall, mature black locust trees (Robinia pseudoacacia) that stand watch at the entrance to this secret corner of our bamboo forest. Their leafy canopy hovers over thick bamboo that shelters this tucked-away campsite, creating a lush, primitive feel like wandering through an old Asian jungle. From April to June, look (and sniff!) up — the black locust trees burst into fragrant white blooms that smell sweet and buzz with bees and pollinators high above your campsite, filling the air with life and the hum of spring. Closed October-March Robinia’s Rest has three unique tent spots, each tucked in its own nook: • One medium to large tent space (up to 10’x15’) for your roomy basecamp. • Two smaller tent spots (around 7’x7’ or smaller) for extra cozy tents tucked deeper into the bamboo. Wild cucumber vines drape from the bamboo, medium and small bamboo clumps provide natural wind blocks and privacy screens, and an old apple tree stands at the center of the site as a quiet living landmark. The rock fire ring catches morning sunshine — perfect for a warm cup of coffee as Mourning Doves coo. Expect a chorus of birdsong here: Song Sparrows, Swainson’s Thrushes, quail, and the occasional deer or quiet woodland critter in the brush. A folding camping table is handy to bring, and there are minimal stumps for seating. Robinia’s Rest is rustic, peaceful, and full of natural charm — a secluded forest nook for campers who love being cradled by birdsong, bamboo, and the gentle scent of locust blossoms overhead. 🌿 Add a Permaculture Farm Tour! While you’re here, you can join an optional 1-hour educational permaculture farm tour — meet our friendly farm animals, explore the food forests, and learn how we grow resilience together.
