This was a relaxing and lovely stay!
The wood fired sauna was the highlight of the stay, but the teepee was also incredibly lovely for staying cozy (with a wood fired stove), since it was quite stormy for part of the stay. The kitchen also had everything we needed to cook the whole trip.
The property was abut to some hiking trails and the river, there were incredibly cute cats and we saw a lot of deer.
The guest area was very close to the primary home, but Kat was both friendly and also respectful of our space.
These were not issues for us but to clarify for future guests: the toilet is a non-plubming toilet and the hot water for the shower was a bit finicky, so we ultimatly just took cold showers.
I have stayed at Hipcamps where parts of the property was cluttered or ugly, but every part of this propty was incredibly thoughtful and beautiful.

Kat’s Refuge By The River was an amazing setup! The most relaxing environment away from all the hustle and bustle of the typical Central Oregon vacation destinations. Quiet and serene desert landscape, close to the Descutes River Canyon and Stealhead Falls.
All the amenities you could desire between the sauna, hot/cold showers, kitchenette in the garage, and sitting & eating areas.
Lots of peacefulness and wildlife abounds between the coyotes and the deer. Nights were infused with moonlight and starlight throughout our stay. Will definitely return, and not soon enough!

Katrina’s spot was seriously a 10/10 hipcamp! The amenities were incredible. We enjoyed the sauna and shower for hydrotherapy. And the tipi was super nice. Everything was really clean and well maintained. Great location too! We enjoyed the walk down to the river for sunset, it was gorgeous. We stayed one night but wish we could’ve stayed longer! Thank you Katrina!

I visited Katrinas land with my husband and we had an amazing visit! Katrina was warm and welcoming upon our arrival, showing us all the amenities and helping us feel right at home! The garage is stocked with a wonderful selection of cooking appliances, a fridge, and a sink with delicious running water. The property is also equipped with a sauna, cold plunge tank, shower house (with hot water!), and a bathroom with a composting toilet making it a wonderful place to stay if you're looking for a more luxurious camping experience. The property is close to the Deschutes river and it's a beautiful short walk to the water. We ended our night in the beautifully lit tipi doing yoga and winding down for the night. As a bonus Q and Bella are the resident cats and they are so fun to have around! We will definitely stay here again.

A Peaceful Place to Pitch or Park
This is a wonderful place to stay. We were in a campervan but utilized the facilities provided including a ping pong table! It’s a lovely quiet site looking up to an incredible rocky mount and also into the dry pine forest typical of this region. Peaceful, quiet and beautiful- with amenities very thoughtfully provided by the host. Also- a short walk takes you to the Deshutes river- a ‘must do’ here while visiting.

Super fun and unique stay! We didn’t get a chance to use the sauna, but the Tipi was a great gathering spot with friends. We tent and hammock camped in the beautiful terrain, and it was just a short walk to the river! Our host, Kat, was super attentive and sweet :)

We stayed for 3 days at Kat's site. It's perfectly situated at a confluence of activities in the area, for those that want to explore Bend and its surroundings. The site itself is also immaculately arranged to provide a comfortable and restful stay, for those looking to relax and escape a bit.
Kat was present on our arrival and helped orient us. She's put significant effort into providing various amenities, while maintaining an overall camping and natural experience. The surrounding nature is beautiful and a great introduction to the high desert climate.
We'd gladly go back for another stay!

The campsite set up is perfect and magical. The host is also nice. You can get a visit from her cat or some deer and it’s an easy walk to the river. I would definitely stay here again.

Kat was a great host. Although you’re camping in their front yard it doesn’t feel like it. The off grid amenities are very cool. And the outdoor shower was very relaxing! Thank you!

Where to begin? We came seeking an escape from the chaos of Fourth of July fireworks and found so much more than we imagined.
Kat, the host, is an absolute gem: generous, accommodating, thoughtful. The heart of this magical place.
The land and is sacred and the energy is serene. A true sanctuary for luxurious glamping. The garage kitchen is well-stocked with amenities for crafting nourishing meals.
Q and Bella, her sweet cats, were wonderful companions. We were also visited by snakes, lizards, deer, and a hummingbird. Gentle reminders this land is alive and welcoming.
One highlight was nature’s own fireworks: a spectacular lightning storm rolling in over the hills and right above us. We laid in our tent, rain pouring down, watching the sky light up through the mesh window. It was wild, romantic, and unforgettable.
The wood-fired sauna and outdoor shower were otherworldly, exactly what our bodies and spirits were craving.
A short walk takes you to private Deschutes river access, perfect for a refreshing swim. Steelhead Falls is nearby too, it’s on our list for our next visit.
The Tipi was a peaceful hideaway for an afternoon nap after swimming in the river. Perfect for a little ritual: pulling oracle cards, and leaning into stillness.
Even the well water was incredible. Portland’s water is good, but this was divine!
We left nourished, restored, and already dreaming of our return. If you’re wondering whether to book, do it. You won’t be disappointed!
