Very nice, spacious campsites, but the "beach" turned out to be a "man-made pond" - not fit for swimming. Very disappointing.

Camping getaway
I absolutely love this place, it's a little hidden gem. Eileen is amazing, very accommodating and makes you feel at home. I've brought friends this trip, they now love it as much as I do.
Can't wait to come back, I haven't even left yet. :)

Had an amazing time with my family and dog last weekend! It was my third time visiting whispering pines and I will absolutely be returning! It was so relaxing and my son really enjoyed playing with the other children! Hope to see you soon!

The campground is run down, the pictures do not showcase what the current state is. There is no sign at the highway, the playground equipment is falling apart, there was nothing enchanting about this forest lol. You choose your own site when you arrive so if you have a large tent or multiple tents, cross your fingers that you'll find something with enough space - it was busy this weekend and we ended up with one of maybe 3 sites remaining that were suitable for 2 tents and a screen tent (the other two sites were right beside the main building/house). One large group of college kids had all the picnic tables so we had to ask them for one, there are not tables at every site as mentioned in the ad. There are very few sites with fire pits. The floors of the outhouses are about to rot away. The small lake is more of a pond, closer to a swamp - the beach sand around it is very nice though if you're more into sunbathing than actually swimming. For 4 people we paid $60. Save your money and rent a provincial park site, at least the toilets and outhouses will be maintained and there is typically a swimmable beach nearby.

Peaceful
Eileen was a great host that made us feel at ease pretty quickly and the campground was lovely.
When you arrive, you can choose where you camp so it's easy to pick something that fits your preferences. We chose a spot in the pinewoods (Very comfortable for sleeping).
The campspots are also pretty much 3 or 4 times more isolated than the average campground.
Keep in mind that this is a rustic camping and I would recommend 10/10, perfect to practice guitar during the day without bodering neighbours at home.

Peace and quiet in the forest
I had a great experience camping on Eileen's land. The site was quiet and surrounded by trees. The pond has a large sandy area and is a nice place to take a dip.

The sites were quiet and spread out. Pond was a bit dirty for swimming which was fine for us as we wouldn’t have gone regardless

Pure Magic
Eileen, my wife and I decided to head out of the hot city of Ottawa on a lark at 4 p.m. on a Friday. So very glad we happened upon your listing.
Absolutely magical. In fact, we booked another night because we just couldn't bring ourselves to leave.
Pure Magic.
Very good vibrations, respectful ambiance, stars that you can actually see the way they were meant to be seen, rejuvenating spring-fed pond, helpful and courteous guests... I could go on.
We were not expecting that, but am very glad to have experienced it. We will be back.

Enchanting property
It's truly a unique and hidden gem in the heart of farming communities. A sprawling property of old growth forest and sandy road paths to the sites. The scent of pine welcomes you and the bull frogs are vocal around the lake at night. I loved my stay and especially exploring the whimsical old tea garden that must have hosted many memorable tea parties in the past.
I hope to return as the Ottawa River attractions are so close with easy car ferries to the Quebec side where I ended up kayaking.

Rustic Camping in a Pine Forest
Whispering Pines (aka Enchanted Forest) is rustic camping at its best. No drinking or washing water, no showers, no flush toilets, no garbage disposal, no picnic tables, lots of “friendly” mosquitoes, no electrical, no generators (hurray!) and sometimes even no cell service.
Just ultra peaceful, semi-dispersed camping in a gorgeous mixed forest with red and white pines; clustered around a set of small ponds with a big sandy beach. A very precious spot.
Be sure to check out the lovely Café sur la rive in nearby Plantagenet.
