We're so grateful for Carl & Carolyn’s hospitality, they're truly amazing couple! We enjoyed our long weekend stay in their property, and the location is adorable. The beach is clean, nice and quiet.
The first thing I always check when booking a campsite, is the people's reviews. Indeed, all the positive reviews I've read when I found this are absolutely true, (btw, it's my first booking at hipcamp and my very first to leave a review 😉).
And everything that's written about the property... the rocky escarpment, the sounds of wildlife, yes everywhere I look, it's admirable, we appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. Not to mention the good chats we had with Carl & Carolyn, and all the freebies.. the fresh eggs from their own chickens, and veggies from their own yard, and that were all big bonuses, and we can't thank them enough! 😍

Sky Ridge Experience
Carolyn and Carl were very helpful and pleasant (they even managed to help us deal with the battery problem in our car).
The camping spot is very secluded, quiet, well maintained and very nice with a platform, a firepit and a well located table. They even left us wood and fire starters which was very much appreciated.
The area is beautiful, especially the beach at Gilmour Point.
We really recommend this place and would be happy to come-back.

Fun-Tastic Sky Ridge Experience
I was lucky enough to spend a long weekend at Carolyn and Carl’s place and cannot put into words how much we would all recommend this site. Carolyn and Carl were the kindest hosts and were very accommodating and were always easy to get ahold of.
The site itself was also amazing. The location was great as you are out of the hustle of things but a short drive to the city. The site was bright, large, and very clean and well kept. There are a few trails in the area to walk and is only 1km away from a beach. They had fire wood available for purchase and we were even able to collect our own farm fresh eggs from their chickens.
Overall, we had an amazing time and gave it a 10/10 experience. We look forward to going back!

I has a beautiful time camping with the geese the chickens, spotted a few deer and wildturkeys. The beach is great,but the host are awesome and willing to help in anyway they can ( platform great idea)

Picturesque spot under the stars
It was a joy to camp with Carl & Carolyn. We found the place easily, even in the dark, and woke up to lovely hospitality. The camping area is a soft patch of grass with a deck, picnic table and fire pit, tucked away amidst pine trees. Highly recommended and we will happily return on another trip.

Comfortable space, excellent hosts
This is a convenient, well-kept camping spot a short drive away from Frontenac Park. Carl & Carolyn are incredibly sweet and welcoming, and went out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed to enjoy my stay. It's near a roadway, but the area shuts down at night and there wasn'tany noise. If you'd rather have a wilderness experience, there is even a hiking trail that runs through a beautiful swath of Canadian Shield bedrock and forest that dominates the property, making it the perfect place to bring a hammock. Wonderful spot, highly recommend.

Sky Ridge Experience
We loved our stay!
Carl and Carolyn were amazing hosts! We loved our stay at the Sky Ridge. There is a beach down the street within walking distance where you can go swimming, have a picnic and go fishing. There is another lake by an Inn and Marina within a 5 minute drive where you can go fishing or rent a boat. Additionally, there are a lot of hiking trails in the area to explore including the one on Carl and Carolyn's property. We would like to return to the Sky Ridge and recommend others to experience it.

Great experience! Relaxing getaway.
This was my first time camping and I had a great time! I know Carl personally - he's very friendly, helpful and has a lot of integrity. He took time out of his busy schedule to teach me the basics and help me get set up. The area was beautiful - with a lake to the left as you exit (if you want to go swimming.) Lots of soothing nature sounds and a nice star filled sky at night(with hammock to enjoy them on). It was a great experience that I would do again. 10/10, would highly reccomend!

Comfort/convenience meets rustic.
Very personable hosts; nice clean site with enough amenities to feel comfortable without “glamping”. Short walk to either quaint town of Battersea or the beautiful Gilmour Point beach. Rocks, trees and nearby trails and rural farms are very scenic. Not “deep-woods” private, but no light polluting the Milky Way and lots of nature’s symphony!

Sky Ridge Experience
We had a great time at Carolyn and Carl’s campsite! The area is quite private, very easy to find, and gets a great amount of sun and shade. And they are such great hosts and lovely people! It was a very comfortable and relaxing evening. There is a road just on the other side of the trees that line the site, so if you want to feel like you’re deep in the forest, this may not be the best option for you. I would say this is more between that, and the privacy you get when you go car camping. Overall though, we would happily stay again.

Great hosts, nice campsite!
Carl and Carolyn are just the loveliest couple and very gracious hosts. The campsite is right off the road and easy to access. The space was as advertised and we enjoyed our stay here. Carl showed us around and ensured we were comfortably settled in the campsite. The beach is just down the road with easy access. I would definitely recommend staying here and will be visiting myself again :)

Not So Private
Carl& Carolyn are very nice and attentive hosts. The campsite was a nice space however it is right next to a fairly busy road with fishermen going to the boat launch start early. If you are looking for seclusion this is not the spot as the site is pretty close to the hosts house.

Sky Ridge Experience
We had a fantastic stay at Sky Ridge Experience ! Couldn’t have asked for nicer hosts than Carl and Carolyn . They went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The site was amazing. It was the perfect set up! The platform was a bonus to pitch our tent . We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast they prepared and we even got to pick our own eggs from their coop. We were also able to swim at the nearby lake from their home and hike around their property. The site was so cozy ,meticulous & private and Carl and Carolyn went above and beyond . Our only regret was not staying longer! This place is a hidden gem and I’m beyond happy we chose to stay there and will return .
