Waterfront Campervan Escape on Big Rideau Lake Wake up surrounded by nature and fall asleep to spectacular sunsets over Bass Bay on Big Rideau Lake Our private campervan site is set in an elevated, peaceful location right beside the water, with beautiful views across the bay. It’s the perfect spot for travellers looking to slow down, enjoy the outdoors, and experience the Rideau Lakes region without giving up the comfort and convenience of having your own campervan. Your Private Waterfront Spot Your campsite has everything you need for a relaxing stay: * Beautiful elevated view overlooking Bass Bay * Private firepit positioned to enjoy the incredible sunsets * Direct access to our dock * Two comfortable chairs on the dock — perfect for morning coffee, reading or watching the sunset * Swimming right from the dock * Canoe and kayak available for guests to enjoy * Private outhouse * Plenty of wildlife and nature to watch right from your site The water is a major part of the experience here. Spend the afternoon swimming, paddle around the bay in a canoe or kayak, or simply sit on the dock and watch the loons, birds and other wildlife go by. And don't miss the sunsets. The elevated position overlooking Bass Bay gives you a front-row seat to spectacular sunsets. Explore Murphys Point Provincial Park One of the best things about staying here is the immediate access to Murphys Point Provincial Park. Beautiful hiking and nature experiences are right nearby, with trails through the Canadian Shield landscape, forests and along the shoreline of Big Rideau Lake. Murphys Point is known for its hiking trails, beaches, paddling, wildlife and the historic Silver Queen mica mine. The park's trails include the scenic Point Trail, while the Rideau Trail also passes through the park. The park is also part of the Rideau Waterway, and Big Rideau Lake is part of the Rideau Canal UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the water, you can explore bays, islands, lockstations and small communities throughout the Rideau system. Explore Perth Just a short drive away is the charming heritage town of Perth, one of Eastern Ontario's prettiest small towns. Spend an afternoon wandering the historic downtown, browsing local shops, enjoying restaurants and cafés, or relaxing along the Tay River at Stewart Park. Perth has a wonderful combination of heritage architecture, arts, food, outdoor recreation and small-town atmosphere. The town is also connected to the Rideau Lakes system by the Tay Canal, making Perth a great place to explore by water as well as by road. Take a Trip to Westport Westport is another great day-trip destination from the property. This picturesque village sits on the Rideau Lakes system and is a favourite stop for boaters, paddlers, cyclists and anyone looking for a relaxed small-town experience. Grab lunch, explore the shops, walk around the waterfront and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere before heading back to your campsite for another evening beside the lake. A Great Base for Exploring Eastern Ontario There is plenty to do in the surrounding area if you want to venture out for the day: * Hiking and exploring Murphys Point Provincial Park * Swimming and paddling on Big Rideau Lake * Fishing * Canoeing and kayaking * Cycling on the quiet country roads around the Rideau Lakes * Exploring Perth's historic downtown * Visiting Westport and the surrounding lakes * Exploring Rideau Canal lockstations * Wildlife and bird watching * Local restaurants, cafés, breweries and shops * Fall colour viewing * Scenic drives through the Canadian Shield countryside Come for the Lake, Stay for the Sunset This isn't a large campground or busy RV park. It's a quiet, private place to pull in with your campervan, get outside and enjoy the lake. Spend the day exploring the Rideau Lakes, come back for a swim, launch the canoe or kayak for a sunset paddle, then sit around the fire overlooking Bass Bay as the sun goes down. The location is on Bass Bay Road Tay Valley. Approximately 25 mins from downtown Perth. Don't forget to stop at the farmers stand on Miners Point Road to pick up local veggies, fresh eggs, sourdough bread and yummy baked goods!
