The Pleasant Valley Farm

We had a great time here. Pleasant valley farm was quiet and the view from site #4 was excellent. The host was welcoming and our site was very private.

Amazing property! We fished in the lake for hours and I almost caught something huge. But it broke the line. It did end up storming while we camped but we took shelter in the barn where the bathrooms are and played cards til it passed. Beautiful place.

Beautiful campsite

This is the second time we’ve stayed at James,’s, and both were at site number six. This is an absolute spectacular place to stay, beautiful pond, beautiful views. The road can be noisy at times, but for us the insects and tree frogs drowned that out. I will definitely book this site again.

#10 Cabin

I love this place! Jim and Kathy are incredibly kind and friendly, and the farm is beautiful. The cabin was the perfect place to stay for a nice long weekend (especially during the rainy parts). Nice little lake for swimming, lots of nice areas to explore, firewood for sale on site, and lovely hosts. Would definitely come back here again!

We had another relaxing stay at this beautiful farm. The weather was perfect, there were a few other campers staying and everyone was quiet and respectful, privacy is great at this site. Thanks James, for continuing to share this special place:)

The farm and lake are beautiful. There were several other folks camping there but we felt totally alone. Jim and his wife are so sweet and we had a wonderful time (as we do every year we have stayed there).

This is a truly beautiful place that is also super convenient. Pull up, say hello, grab firewood if you need it, and head to your spot which are all spaced out so you don’t hear each other. There’s a lovely pond to float around on and watch the sunset over. Hosts are there if you need them and also give an amazing amount of privacy. There are bathrooms!!! Total luxury. And their pet policy lets me take my pup. His third visit was wonderful as always!!

Tent camping was great. Easy access to the property and sites with clean amenities and quiet surroundings. Swimming in the lake was a must and proved to be a great way to cool off.

#7 Spill way

Great spot, would definitely stay here again! Even with multiple sites across the farm, it felt plenty private and quiet. Having a bathroom with running water while camping is always super clutch. It’s remote enough to feel unplugged, while being a quick drive to town. The lake is gorgeous and perfect for swimming. While we originally booked this campsite as a place to crash while going to a nearby music festival, it was so serene we actually decided to skip the last day of the festival to lounge by the lake. Pro tip: swim by the silver dock by the house, not the red raft and for the coffee drinkers - check out Pump and Grind in town.

#2 Creek Side

Clear information to be provided. There was miscommunication on the host end, which caused us to pay more which we did when he gave us the additional cost but when we went back after going over it and realized we still over paid, he gave us a different price to not reins us what he owed us. Also, when I told him I would go to the bank after I ran to the store and would go up to his place to give him the money him and his wife went to to our site and our husbands told him we were still at the store and we would go up to him once we go there, he refused to leave our site and said that he will wait there until we came back, which he did. They seem friendly but also prejudice and racist to a point. I noticed it the first time but was giving him the benefit of doubt but the second time we camped there it was confirmed. As much as we loved the location, we don’t appreciate being hawked over like we are criminals or thief’s.

July 4th stay

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at #4. The site itself was large with plenty of room for my tent and vehicle with a bunch of open space remaining to relax in. The site is surrounded by trees which provided a lot of shade through oht the day which helped keep my tent cool even though it was in the 90s each day of my stay. The entire farm is beautiful and each site offers a different view and privacy. James met me when I showed up to check in and gave me an overview of the property and the amenities available (flushing toilet, hiking trails, pond) and was very welcoming and friendly. I'd definitely stay there again if I ever am in area again.

Pond was really nice. Fishing was good. He has swimming area in front of his house with sand bottom, but we just went swimming at site 6. It was about 4 foot deep BUT really muddy bottom with some rocks. We even used canoe to go fishing all around the pond.

Nice setting in the country and just a short drive off I-71, close to Malabar Farm and the Mohican area. Large camp site with a fire ring and a picnic table. Bathrooms and potable water in the nearby barn which was convenient and appreciated! Firewood also available on-site. 7 of the 11 sites were occupied when we were there, but noise was minimal and the overall environment was peaceful. There is a good sized lake for fishing, swimming, and canoeing too. Jim is pleasant and helpful and was available if we needed anything. This was our second trip and we would definitely return!

It was a fantastic trip. Gorgeous views, very low key and chill but hosts were very responsive and ready with the extra firewood. Best part was the ability for our toddlers and dog to run around and yell to their hearts content without us having to worry about them running off or bothering anyone else. Definitely on our list of vacations to do again
