Paul Bunyan Campground is a no frills excellent Campground for full hookups close to a rail trail. Directions are confusing, but when you check in at the lodge as requested they will give you a campus map and it'll take you right to the campground. It appears there are other campsites that are no hookups, and there is definitely a dump station. A whole lot of service for $35 a night.

The info and procedures provided by Hipcamp are very different than the "rules" posted at the campground. The posted rules may be for the primitive camping area, not the Full Hookup area. No one could tell me if the "full hookup" water was potable or non-potable. All of this needs to be clarified and updated by Hocking College.

No Frills Sites, Close to Rt. 33

Electric and water hookups were great. There was also a dump station (and a dumpster for garbage). The sites are small and VERY close together. There is no bathroom or shower house. Fires are not allowed. It is pet friendly. If you are looking for a low cost, no frills site, this is your place. It is inside Hocking College, .7 of a mile from the sign/road that you turn from Rt. 692 to Hocking Parkway. There was no one there when we checked in, so we just chose a site. Check-in is at Noon and checkout is at Noon, (very nice)!

The directions are inaccurate. The campsite is located on the college campus. It is not off the main highway as Google maps and Apple Maps indicate based upon the address that was given. Created a real mess exclamation but we finally found it.
Inside is basically a gravel parking lot with utilities. Only three campsites were being used while we were there so it was very quiet. Also, no shade. It’s in an open field.
