Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home at some sites—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
So, where do all the "redheads" go? They're all here! The Red-headed Woodpeckers, red squirrels, American robins, red-tailed hawks, and even red foxes can all be found here. You may also spot wild turkeys, rabbits, deer, owls, bald eagles, and a wide variety of other birds. No matter what wildlife you see—or don't see—you're sure to make lasting memories here. Located near Dillon State Park, Flint Ridge State Memorial, and Blackhand Gorge State Nature Preserve, our property is surrounded by natural beauty, rich history, and abundant wildlife. There are plenty of walking trails throughout our 40 acres, so you don't even have to leave the property to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. If you're ready to explore, you'll find many exciting nearby attractions just a short drive away. Take a kayak down the Licking River, walk the paved trails, ride the local bike paths, spend the day fishing, explore the historic canals, or cool off in the shallow waters of Blackhand Gorge. There's always something fun to do during your stay. A short drive brings you to Dillon State Park, where you can enjoy swimming, boating, picnicking, fishing, and miles of scenic walking trails. Flint Ridge State Memorial is also just minutes away and features Native American earthworks, fascinating archaeological artifacts, and a museum showcasing the area's rich cultural history. Looking for a little more activity? Lazy Acres Campground is just minutes away. Enjoy the fun there, then return to Redhead Hideaway for peace, privacy, and relaxation. Perhaps you are planning on attending a festival or concert at Legend Valley in Thronville, OH or attending one in Columbus, OH, whatever you decide, fun and exciting new memories is just a short distance away. Within 25 minutes, you can reach nearby towns for shopping, dining, local events, and supplies. If you only need the essentials, gas stations, dollar stores, and pizza restaurants are conveniently located nearby. Our property is easily accessible from State Route 146, Interstate 70, U.S. Route 40, and State Route 16. We're also just 25 minutes from both Zanesville and Newark, Ohio. To help everyone enjoy their stay, we ask that all fires remain in the provided fire rings. Firewood is stacked at each campsite, and you are welcome to burn fallen wood found nearby. Please respect fellow campers by staying on established paths and away from occupied campsites. Pack out what you pack in, dispose of all trash properly, and use the recycling bins provided for cans, paper, and plastic. If you would like a picnic table, please let us know before you arrive. Bathrooms are available near the campsites, and the many trails with toilets and handwashing stations. Guests are responsible for the removal of their own toiletries and waste. Come visit us at Redhead Hideaway—we look forward to welcoming you!
