While here guests experience Seclusion, Peace, Tranquility and an Escape from Everyday Life. All of our dwellings and spaces are inspired by Nature, Art, and overall Systemic Health. Raven's Retreat is run by an Athletic Couple whom has turned their focus from competing in various combat sports, to Lifestyle Wellness Education. This Education includes the pursuit of Mental Health through fostering Creativity and Self Expression, as well as, Nutrition, and Physical Fitness.
There is lots of hiking on the property, and even more hiking at out local parks such as Rockhouse and Conkles Hollow State Park. Conkles Hollow is our favorite park. As for local food, we love the pizza down at Laurelville Pizza. It's only a 4 min drive away. If you'd like vegan cheese, it would be best to call a week ahead so they can make sure its stocked for ya. The Ridge Inn, at the bottom of Thompson Ridge, is another good place to eat. It is kind of like a fresh twist on American comfort food.
We want you to have a good time without disrupting others. Overall, we do not allow loud parties but encourage friendly peaceful hang outs. We have great respect for all the critters and our neighbors.
If you would like to use a camp shower, we only allow certain soaps to be used in order to maintain a healthy environment on the property. We suggest using little to no soap on most of the body and if you do use soap, please use a biodegradable camp soap. Please avoid the use of strong perfumes, as well.
It is our goal to open this property to share with others that respect this wild area as much as we do. Please note, these primitive camp sites are within an area where 11 turkeys pass, countless deer raise their young, and bats/birds frequent due to having a cleared area within the forest of the Hocking Hills. For that reason, please be prepared to use lighting that is wildlife and pollinator friendly. Such as more yellow or green lights once the sun has set. Bright White or blue lights are NOT ideal for the night creatures.
