Pop's place great for families

The hosts are extremely friendly and accommodating, the campsite is simple but had everything we needed, and the cabins were comfy, warm and private. The site is in a lovely area of country: rolling hills, lots of wildlife, and really quiet and peaceful. We went with 4 adults and 5 kids, aged between 7 and 11, and everyone had a great time.

Michelle and Ed were amazing hosts! Super friendly and accommodating, they went out of their way to make sure we were cared for and had a good experience! The shower and restroom facilities were basic but very clean. Other than being close to the road it was a great place to pitch our tents and hammocks for the weekend! Highly recommend their campground for camping!

Pop's place Bear Cabin was clean and comfortable. Perfect for what we were looking for. Michelle and Ed were very welcoming and we enjoyed our two nights there.

Nice quiet place but bring ear plugs since it is close to the road. Great amenities including a hot shower. Remote in the country and nice folks own the place. Enjoyed my stay.

We absolutely loved everything about pops place! There isn't a single bad thing to say about our stay. The cabins were exactly what we needed, we have 4 young boys from ages 9 and down and they absolutely loved the outdoor shower and playset! We thought it was so perfect and super close for our techumsa trail riding trip! We got in late Friday night and the owners still came up to the cabin and greeted us and we talked for a while, they are both so nice and welcoming! They absolutely didn't have to come say hi and could of waited until the next day but them doing so says alot about who they are and how much they care! This is an absolute perfect stay for anyone, especially if you are wanting away from the city life, noise ect. The stars, her gardens, the cabins,everything was perfect! We cant wait to come back 🩷

Fantastic extremely clean relaxing

Absolutely would recommend Pops place,Michelle and Ed were superior host. The cabins are extremely clean comfortable beds to sleep on. Cannot complain about anything. The most awesome stay ever. The railing g for my age was too low going up the steps, although I never complained, when we came back from our side by side ride, to my excitement they had installed a very rustic rail for our convenience and it was so super easy to get into our cabin. . How awesome. The most fantastic people, very personable folks ever. We highly recommend everyone to stay for such a relaxing night well spent. I wish I could say more, but anyone who chooses to stay will understand the most enjoyable stay ever.

Peaceful Spot!

We enjoyed our stay at Pop's Place! They have a beautiful location full of country charm. Our site had a campfire ring, electric hookup and a gravel parking pad. There is also a large campfire circle with seating in the middle of the property. They have a clean porta-potty on site as well as a very cute outdoor shower. Even though our spot was near the road, there was hardly any traffic after dark. Michelle came out to greet us as soon as we arrived- she was a fantastic host! Thank you for having us Michelle- we had a very peaceful stay!

This was a special gem ; like no other ,more like a scene from a children’s book , because it was so beautiful. The energy was peace. That’s his name. I don’t know what the hell their name is. The hospitality was outstanding. From the host , very kind people. Nice and clean.

It would have been nice to know that the other camp sites were so close to each other . The busy road was not what we expected it was loud and lots of off road vehicles going by all the time, we had to listen to the other campers until 1:30 am . We were not impressed at all.

We loved this cute little getaway! Everything was clean and comfy and we had plenty of space between our camp site at Bear cabin and the tent campers. Love that it was pet friendly because our dogs had the absolute best time! Will recommend to friends and definitely book again :)

Overland Trip Pitstop

Very nice space for a quick night's rest and a hot shower. We are on an overland trip from the Atlanta area and are making our way Northeast through Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, the Virginia's and the Carolina's. The trip is right at 2,000 miles and less than half of the route we are taking is paved. The majority is forest service roads, off road trails, dirt, gravel, and back roads. This was a great place to recharge and get back out there.

We had a great time! Cabin was clean and nice. The shower is good and hot despite its appearance, and a new shower hut is in progress. The area is very green, pretty, and quiet. Great kids area too. We stayed in the Moose Lodge, but would definitely try the Bear another time.

I love Michelle and Ed’s place! It’s a great spot for cabins and camping. The only challenge we faced was that our Tesla couldn’t charge there since it was a 30-amp hookup, and we needed 50-amp. But they were very helpful and guided us to a nearby charging location in New Lex. It was a small hassle, but everything else made up for it. The RV location was well set up with everything we needed—potable water, an open shower, and a porta-potty. Everything else was amazing. We loved it and would highly recommend it!

Cool spot besides the fact they had 15 tents set up right beside my cabin when I came back at 10pm from the trails, my party of 4 stayed up drinking and talking until about 2am (beside the fireplace I paid for). I woke up at about 8am to the owner telling me I need to get my stuff and leave & That I wasn’t welcome back because the people in the tents told them we was being drunk & loud & said some cuss words out loud. I don’t advise anyone to stay here unless you rent every cabin and every tent spot ! Also after acting like a total dick head the owner continued to run his mouth about my party as if I wasent standing there. DONT STAY HERE !!!

The cabin was cute and clean and in good condition. The beds were comfy. Had paper plates and plastic utensils and paper towels already in the cabin. It was very private because it was raining so there wasn’t anybody outside or anything. More affordable than a lot of other cabins. There was a massive spider under one of the extra pillows. And there was a cute cat that showed up on our last night just wanting to hang out with us.

We really enjoyed staying here! Ed and Michelle were great hosts. They were very warm and helpful. The cabin (Moose Cabin) was really clean and the mattresses were comfortable. It was nice that bedding was provided. Our kids had a blast there and Ed and Michelle were so kind to them. The port-a-potty was very clean and the outdoor shower was also really nice. It's obvious that Ed and Michelle have worked hard to make this a great place to stay and value their guests.

Pop's Place, Moose Cabin, was fantastic as were the hosts, Ed and Michelle! The cabin was pristine, clean, warm, and very well maintained. Michelle and Ed are very responsive to messages and are continuously improving camp. Although it rained all four days, we still had a great time and appreciated the hosts recommendations for rainy day activities. The shower was an added bonus and was pleasantly warm. I hope to return in the future! Thanks Ed and Michelle!

We had a great time at the Bear Cabin. It was clean and comfortable…just the right amount of “creaturely comforts” (beds, heat, bathroom, coffee pot, fridge) for a pleasant stay while maintaining a similar feel to camping. The location was very quiet and peaceful. Just as advertised.

Stargazing at Moose Lodge Cabin

I found this destination on Hipcamp and not having used this app before, I was a little skeptical at first. Once I arrived, all my worries vanished. We stayed in the Moose Lodge cabin and had a wonderful experience. Our stay was cozy, warm, and very enjoyable. Ed and Michelle were very welcoming, sincere, and great to converse with. What made the trip memorable for my daughter was the stargazing. With no light pollution in the area, the view of the stars were bright and added to the overall experience. We will definitely stay here again.
