Nestled under a canopy of deciduous trees and alongside a gentle flowing brook, lies a forest opening perfect for immersing oneself in nature. From our parking area, our private campsite is a short walk (3-4 minutes) across pasture and wooded trail and empties on to a level forest understory ideal for your hammock or tent. Our campsite is equipped with the necessities: a firepit with a removable grill, a table, your own private outhouse, and unlimited sights and sounds of nature. Trails leading from the campsite will usher you short distances to one of our best stargazing hilltops, down to the shallow creek running along the campsite trail, through shaded forests and ridgetop views. Our pond, a short 7 minute hike, offers fishing, swimming or simply relaxing on the dock. For longer hikes, all trails connect to our larger network of maintained trails winding over hill and dale, through shaded forests and open pasture trails offering the hiker farm-life views across our 80 acres. To make your packing lighter and your stay more comfortable, we offer the following "extra items" at an additional cost. Please order your "extra items" at the time of booking. *Additional fees may apply for items not ordered in advance of stay.* - Firewood bundles (unlimited) - Garbage disposal (limit 2 bags per booking) - Charged battery pack with plug and USB receptables - *Stringed twinkle lights - we do the hanging before you arrive * must be ordered with our charged battery pack or bring own power source. Our farm is surrounded by 3500 acres of privately owned forest in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and is a short 30 minute drive from Athens to the East and Jackson to the West. We have very little through traffic; it’s not unusual to only see one vehicle a day (our mail delivery). Overall our area is rural and chocked full of natural wonder: sandstone rock formations, an abundance of wildlife to include rare species such as the Whip-poor-will, and the amazing barred Owl, both of which campers delight in hearing during their stay. My Spot campsite is so scenic, tranquil, and relaxing you may never want to leave camp until it's time to head home. However, if you want to use the campsite as your base, Lake Snowden, which is only a 15 minute drive, offers kayaking, canoeing, swimming and the very popular Paw-Paw Festival in September. The quaint riverfront village of Pomeroy is a 30 minute drive. Hocking Hills State Park is only a 45 minute drive.

Firepit, private. The campsite is in a wooded area. Firewood is available for an extra fee in the "extra's" section. Any wood found laying on the ground may be burned in the fire pit.

Composting toilet. The toilet is private. We have toilet paper and hand sanitizer at the outhouse for your convenience.
No pets
We love animals, but our working dogs may view other animals as a threat to our sheep and chickens.

Trash bin. We provide a heavy duty large trash bag. Campers are responsible for hauling their own garbage. Please practice "Leave no trace."

My Spot Campsite is totally private and secluded. We were looking for a private, peaceful, wooded campsite, and boy did this hipcamp deliver! Beth & Brian’s campsite land is tucked away in the woods of Meig’s county, nestled across from their farm. It was wildly hot & humid the July 4th weekend we went (felt like 105 midday), but in the shaded woods where we camped, it was at least 15-20 degrees cooler. Highly recommend taking a swim/float in their pond, and stargazing on the open field just at the end of one of the wooded trails. Also encourage folks to take advantage of the ATV haul of your gear to & from the site, and the jackery for the camplights. Their firewood is well seasoned & massive, and there’s plenty of tinder to be found in the woods around camp. Composite toilet is a huge plus, but otherwise it’s primitive camping at its loveliest. Their hosts are gracious. The land is secluded and cozy. This spot is a gem of a site.

I do believe this place might be paradise on earth. Whether you’re roaming the picturesque acres or chilling under your private canopy of trees, there’s simply something magical happening here, and it’s impossible not to feel it. Perfect for solo campers, romantic, getaways, or small families-the property truly has it all, and the gracious hosts will make you feel right at home. If you really want to get away from it all and reconnect with nature, this is the place to do it. I will be returning many, many times.

This was our second time camping here and it was even better than the first! My son loves it here. We stayed for 2 days. Beth helped transport all of our things in the UTV which was so helpful! We walked the creek and the trails. Played frisbee, made yummy food and made memories. I really loved seeing all of the wildflowers on my walk. Beth is very hospitable and kept us with a freshly powered Jackery so that my son could sleep with his heated blanket. Her dogs are the sweetest, and we got to experience nature in every sense of the word. It really is a special place.

Beth and Brian are wonderful! The campsite is well maintained, the wood bundles they offer are generous, theres plenty of trails to hike on the property, and its so peaceful and quiet here. My favorite part was making breakfast in the morning and hearing their sheep bleat in the distance. Very relaxing spot for a weekend getaway. Don't forget they offer UTV hauling to and from the campsite! Its a decent hike so I'd recommend it if you're a bit of an over packer like myself and my friends!

It’s definitely a haul from where you park your car to the tent site so I highly suggest you pack lightly but once you get there, it’s a really nice spot in the woods with everything you need. Also, definitely follow the directions provided as Google maps will try to take you down a road that has closed. We were only there one night and did not have time to explore the trails but looks pretty neat. Could see one coming from the campsite going off into the woods and the grassy hill before you get to the campsite looks to be a good spot to see the stars on a clear night.

This place is a private spot on about 80 acres. There is a wonderful path through the woods to the top of a hill for stargazing at night. The catch and release pond is across the street on their property and just the perfect size. There are multiple trails throughout the property. Lots of wildlife and beautiful nature to immerse yourself in. The hostess is very friendly and accommodating. Oh, I would highly recommend getting the lights to surround your tent area to make it easy to find your way back if you night hike. This is the perfect place to unplug!

This was such a lovely trip! Between the sounds of nature, a nice fire at night, and some fishing and hiking during the day, this trip was everything that I hoped for! Beth was a lovely host, and helped me bring my stuff to and from the campsite. I'm already considering going back in the future, because I know it'll be just as peaceful and relaxing as it was this trip too!

Beth’s camp site was perfect! It was secluded and serene. The site was very well maintained. We paid extra for the string lights and jackery and it was worth it. Beth exceeded expectations as a host. She was helpful and kind. Communication was quick and clear. Scout was a fantastic welcoming, host!

I really enjoyed the peace and quiet of camping on Beth and Brian’s land. They were very accommodating to me (a motorcycle camper). I purchased firewood from them and it was there when I arrived. Will definitely camp here again and will shoot a video for my YouTube channel. A very nice experience that I highly recommend. But a word of caution, if you are intending to ride your motorcycle to the campsite, it better be an off-road or adventure bike. Otherwise it is best to park in the provided parking area.

My Spot Private Campsite
This is hand's down my favorite Hipcamp yet! It's a beautiful spot, perfect for being immersed in nature and "off grid", although I did have cell reception while I was there. I had planned on using this as a base camp for exploring other parks in the area, but after arriving I didn't want or need to leave! The interconnected trails on the property provide plenty of hiking and wandering opportunities, and the pond is the perfect addition for swimming, fishing, or just relaxing. Beth is a wonderful host! She was kind, helpful, and communicative, and her directions made getting there very easy. I"m already planning my next trip there! I'm already planning my next trip back!

My daughter and I loved camping on Beth's property. It was beautifu, quiet, and relaxing. Beth was really nice and helped us bring all of our stuff down to the campsite. I recommend following Beth's directions she gives to the site. I can verify that GPS takes you the wrong way. Internet is spotty, so take a picture of the directions to save. This was a great private camping getaway. We loved it!!

This is a magnificent site for a very private experience. Beth is amazing, helpful and checks in via the app to be sure you are comfortable. I advise having a wagon to help move gear between the campsite and your vehicle, but Beth also helped with a 4 wheeler. Plenty of trails for walking on the farm and the nice little pond for swimming and floating. You are a short distance to Athens OH, a delightful town with all needed amenities. Also Hocking Hills and Lake Hope state parks are nearby for stuff to do in the area. I loved it. Nelson

As advertised - nice and quiet for an escape to nature. Check out the pond, check out the trails. I saw a turtle, chipmunks, deer and an eagle. I also heard the owls all night but I never saw them... Highly recommend

We had a great stay at Beth’s private campsite! The spot was peaceful, well-maintained, and just what we needed to unwind and disconnect for a few days. Beth was friendly, responsive, and made everything easy from start to finish. We enjoyed leisurely fishing at the pond each day but mostly spent our days relaxing and reading amongst the trees and listening to the birds and other nature sounds surrounding us. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, private getaway.

Brian and Beth maintain a beautiful, quiet campsite for the perfect weekend get away. The swimming pond is a great amenity for those hot days and the entire site is nestled in the woods keeping it significantly cooler than if you were baking in the sun. As we prepared to leave we noticed some car issues and Brian and Beth went out of their way to let us borrow some tools to make sure we got home safely. Cannot say enough nice things about the pair and their beautiful property! We would certainly love to come back!

It was just what we needed for a little local getaway. The site itself is private and quiet—except for the coyotes and whippoorwills, much to our delight. And a sunset float in the farm pond watching sheep graze? Splendid way to spend an evening. Beth was an excellent host and had our “extras” ready to go. When the weather is fair, we camp. When it’s Southern Ohio humid/hot/rainy tricky, we glamp! We brought a heavy 10x10 market canopy for shelter and she was kind enough to tow it and our gear to and from the site. We already promised the kids we’d bring them next time just to escape. (You don’t have to unplug, though. You may still get decent cell service if that’s important to know when picking your HipCamp!) This was our first HipCamp experience and we were quite pleased.

My first Hipcamp experience, and it didn’t disappoint! If you’re looking for something truly remote, plenty of space and things to do in and around the property, then this is the place. Beth met us on arrival, and was a wonderful host - very helpful getting all of our gear to and from the site. Can’t wait to get back out here, probably in the fall. Definitely recommend.

Our family loved camping on Beth’s land! She was super attentive and helpful, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The kids were thrilled to interact with her dogs for a while as well. Pretty tough to beat camping out in the woods with countless paths to explore, as well as a pond to swim and fish in!

The site has it all. A beautiful private site with a lovely canopy to protect from rain. A short hike to an absolutely stunning site for Star gazing. And wonderful owners that are so accommodating. I couldn’t have wished for a better weekend camping experience. We will definitely return.
