Learn more about this land:
I'm an artist and my husband and I have a small homestead with chickens and sometimes sheep/goats. Look out for electric netting to keep our herd/flock protected. The lighting over our back field is divine in the late afternoon, or if you prefer a wooded setting, we have a small wooded area across the street from our house. The area is hilly and rather private-- only one neighbor is visible when the trees are leafed out. Electric is accessible from an outlet at the backyard fence or in the barn. We often have fresh veggies and fruit in the garden in the summer, and sometimes extra farm fresh eggs. Nearby (10 minute drive) is Hargus lake, with boat rental and fishing. Also nearby is the Slate Run Historical Farm, (15 minute drive) which is a farm that is fully functioning as a farm from the 1880's with sheep, draft horses, hogs, and poultry and Slate Run Metro park, which has many woodland and wetland trails, as well as a covered bridge and several playgrounds. We are about 35 minutes from the Hocking Hills area, which is one of the most beautiful and unique areas in Ohio.

Idyllic Autumn Getaway...
Lovely, idyllic location less than an hour from Columbus. We were lucky enough to be there during peak autumn colors. The hosts are friendly, and very accommodating. We showed up much later than anticipated, but they were still very gracious and welcoming. They offered electricity, water, a firepit, and our choice of places to pitch the tent. We did not spend much time on the property, but they maintain it very thoughtfully. As the trees grow it will become more, and more lovely. It is a short drive to Circleville, Amanda, and Lancaster, which are charming to visit. On the property saw many birds, including a red headed woodpecker. My daughters played with their children, and a very friendly dog. There are roosters, so do not expect to sleep late. Overall, our family had a wonderful autumn getaway. And we appreciated all the fun things for our children to enjoy.

Kyla is extreme kind and welcoming. She and her family went above and beyond to accommodate my needs during stay. Beautiful land and great hosts. I would recommend this as a destination, because there's many things to do nearby. But if you are just passing through, it's super accessible and easy to camp. Lovely chickens and a beautiful garden. Can't wait to visit again.

Kyla was a great host - present enough to be friendly and helpful, but gave us space. Luckily our car made it back to the field site and we were awoken each morning by Steve, the rooster. It’s a lovely spot if you need an escape from the city but don’t want to be far from civilization.
Cozy little family farm backyard vibes 💛
Tips:
-we were glad we brought bundles of firewood since a lot of the wood there was wet
-make sure you grab the address first, my Apple Maps took us somewhere down the road
-the fresh eggs each morning are a nice add-on

Her location is very convenient. Not too far off a main road. The space was quiet and pretty easy to get to. Kyla was very inviting. Her sweet little doggie came by to say hi. Her chickens were lovely. Kyla checked with us and made sure we didn’t need anything. She offered us fresh eggs and let us go thru the garden to pick snacks! We will definitely be back!

Quiet & Safe
Just what I needed - a safe, well-lit area to stay the night with my dogs. We slept in my SUV and it was very peaceful. Better than a truck stop - which was my other option! Kayla welcomed us, told us where to park and was super nice.

i highly recommend camping at kyla’s! it’s a perfect spot, far enough from their home that you don’t feel like you’re camping in someone’s backyard. kyla was so accommodating, and they have loads of really good firewood, just be sure to ‘donate’ generously for it :-) looking forward to staying again!! thanks again kyla!!

Ideal!
So sweet! Such a warm and welcoming host with a lovely garden, (what beautiful tomatoes!) and a nice, secluded camping spot. I arrived early in the afternoon so I had time to walk around Slate Run Park and Historical Farm which was so cool! Thank you!
