Heartwood farms rest in a far corner of Athens county, Ohio. Are you looking for a friendly forest retreat? Do you love morels in the spring, wild flowers, waterfalls and endless fern adorning mossy boulders and rock outcroppings? Look no further. This is for you! You can have access to 10 acres of a 35 acre farm nestled in Wayne National Forest to enjoy. The terrain varies from steep to level ridge tops and benches spread through out that offers an unparalleled natural experience. It is very similar as to what one would find in hocking hills but without all the tourist. Come bring your hiking boots; you’ll be stoked you did!Nestled in the forest completely surrounded by nature is this 10 acre section on our 35 acre retreat. 100% secluded and private tent site overlooking a waterfall. Old growth beech trees accompany you while water tumbling over the boulders brings peace and calm. Large ferns moss covered boulders and wilderness makes this an absolutely unforgettable experience. No hunting. No firearm shooting. There is an abundance of wildlife including: Bobcat, Coyote’s, Bald Eagle, Deer, Skunk, Black Bear. Check yourself for ticks after hiking. Due to the steep rugged terrain no children or pets are allowed.
