Highest campsite in Mansfield
Car camping on Nathan's plot was great. There was a decent amount of other people but plenty of space so we had our own corner to ourselves and never heard anyone else. Thank you!

all things considered, great time!
Pros:
-Fast, consistent response time
-Host is very reasonable and obviously cares about campers' experience
-Clearly marked entrance (cardboard sign and tiny orange cones)
-Amazing unobstructed view of stars and eclipse!
-Portable toilet on site was clean and restocked regularly, had a hook and shelf to put things down
Cons:
-Listing described a bonfire and no individual campfires allowed, drove 8 hours & found out the bonfire was cancelled, had to go buy wood when we had wood we could have brought for free. This was an unexpected $80 expense I did not appreciate.
-Entrance needs a lot more gravel coming up that hill, people got stuck in the mud
-Portable toilet was nowhere near the campers, very very long walk
-Portable toilet was full after 3 days, a second one next time would be a good idea, being less than a foot from everyone's refuse is gross

2024 Eclipse
Everything went great and Nathan was a great host. As advertised, there wasn't much in the way of accommodations at the site itself, but there's a Wal-Mart and a bunch of restaurants within a five-minute drive.

Great site, great host! Even with dozens of groups spread across the site for the eclipse, there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Nathan was great with communication and very accommodating. Being less than five minutes from the highway and a Walmart was super convenient, but given how quiet the site is, you’d never know how close you are to civilization. Looking forward to visiting again!
