This is a really well thought out little off grid cabin. Clean and cozy, and the stove and lamps they leave for you are really nice. At night we slept in the loft with the window open and listened to the owls all night. We will be back!

Definitely isolated and wonderful if u really want to hide away from society. Totally unplugged here. No electric, no phone service, no light pollution, no noises besides an occassional donkey in the distance. Nothing but your own thoughts to tend to. Roads coming in are the only super challenging part of the trip. I would recommend all wheel drive regardless of seasons as the hills and turns although fun, are tricky and many miles worth. Nothing luxury about this stay, but getting back to basics is what makes this unique. A good variety of lights and batteries is a must if u stay more than a night. Steps to the loft could be the only part of the cabin that might be hard for someone with any kind of physical attributes that hinder. Outdoor outhouse old school will have you making sure you go to bathroom before bed, otherwise, its a dark visit. Surrounded by tons of open landscape nearby, picturesque Amish barn and waterwheel just down the road was camera worthy. Cabin is certainly on the small side, great for a couple. If I was a writer, I'd say it makes a perfect writer's haven.

Dogwood cabin was delightful and remote. My two dogs and I loved the surrounding countryside. At night, it was so cozy! I would highly recommend, however, a few observations:
Watch your head on the steps!
It is dark inside, even mid-day. You will need a light source if cooking or cleaning or to see into the cupboards. I brought several camp lights that charge via USB anf a power pack. They were almost essential.
There were no matches or lighters. I had to make a trip to Stockport.
The camp stove is useful, but the directions on the lid are outdated - there is no longer a pump to prime. It is also not really adjustable. My morning water for coffee took almost an hour to heat up enough for my French press. It's a really nice feature but you might prefer your own.
The only working solar light was on the outhouse. The others didn't light up.
There was no firewood at all. Check in time was 4pm; by the time I got unloaded and settled in, it was too dark in the woods to scrounge for firewood.
The creek is down at the bottom of the very narrow and steep road. My dogs loved it! Best access is down by the entrance gate.
There was quite a bit of activity on Goshen Run Rd. Use caution if walking it. It winds quite a bit and speed limit is 55.
It was super hot, muggy, and buggy, so we didn't do as much outside exploring as I would have liked, but overall Dogwood Cabin was a sweet little abode in the woods on a hilltop.

We enjoyed out weekend staying at the dogwood cabin. The cabin was clean and looked exactly as advertised. I loved how when you walked in the house smelled like wood. If you're looking for a rustic place to stay I'd highly recommend.

Dogwood Cabin
We had a really peaceful stay at Dogwood Cabin! The cabin was pristine and exactly as advertised. We enjoyed the porch swing, walking the trails on the property and the small conveniences (provided cookware, plates/utensils, cook stove, lanterns, etc). It was the perfect spot to disconnect and relax!

This was the cleanest, most beautiful and well-built cabin I've stayed in in my entire life. My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights during a trip through Ohio and, although the widespread lack of cell service in the area was initially a bit unnerving, I couldn't have felt safer. The pathway to the outhouse (which was extremely clean and smelled only of cedar) and surrounding cabin were comfortably lit at night by solar lights, and two charged up lanterns were provided by the host for general use. The cabin itself, also built from cedar, was airtight and entirely bug-free. The host also compiled a list of businesses, delis, and attractions in the area which made navigating with minimal service much easier. If you have an AWD car that can make it up the somewhat steep gravel road leading up to the cabin, I highly suggest staying here.

Dogwood Cabin
We stayed 4th of July weekend. The cabin is exactly as listed! Clean, comfortable, and supplied with the basics. The land is wonderful! Very peaceful, and secluded. The outhouse is very clean, and does not smell bad at all.
Things to consider/bring!
A small camp table for cooking by the fire
Wet wipes
A battery operated fan if sleeping on the loft during summer
A last note! I believe some bees may be living near/under the porch. My dog got stung 3 times at once when he walked past that area. Luckily I carry benadryl because he has allergies anyways- but just a note incase you are allergic to bees!! There was consistanly 10 - 20 bees in that area the entire weekend.
It was a great stay! Wouldn't change anything!

My partner, brother, and I had a great time at Dogwood! Getting there is straightforward. The driveway is pretty steep, but we were able to get up in our 2WD van. Very excluded, which we loved. We met the hosts when we were pulling in, and they are very nice!
The cabin is surrounded by lush greenery, and the forest is filled with little creatures you don't get to hear in the city! The cabin itself is gorgeous. Beautifully built with a huge porch/deck area, which is great for drinking your morning coffee and listening to the myriad of birds.
The hosts provided almost everything you would need in terms of propane stove, utensils, cutlery, napkins, etc. The beds were very comfortable and worked great with our sleeping bags.
We were nervous for the outhouse but were pleasantly surprised. It was well stocked and included a light and Lyme to cover up smells.
It was a great experience, and we will definitely be back!
