What You’ll Enjoy • Primitive tent and overland-style camping in a large open field under oak trees • On-site potable water hydrant to refill supplies • Campfires allowed (check local fire rules) • Shared restroom facilities (no showers) • Pets allowed (on leash) Why Stay Here This campground offers an ideal blend of quiet, natural surroundings and convenience. Since it’s directly across from the Eldorado Outpost, you’re just a short walk from fuel, a restaurant, and camping supplies. The field-based setup avoids dustier forest trails while still placing you close to trailheads and off-road zones. Things to Know • No electrical or sewer hookups available • Sites are best suited for self-contained tents or overland vehicles • Quiet hours and respectful use requested, especially during nearby events • Some dates may be reserved for group events, so check availability ahead of timePrimitive Camp sites for Ground Tents or Overland camp set-up -- 20 acres across from the Eldorado Outpost with several dispersed group camps. Chris was super helpful and check in was easy. Uwharrie trailheads are only a couple minutes away, and the outpost has anything you may have forgotten while packing.

Basecamp Uwharrie
Great location and proximity to the Outpost and trails. Although I didn't officially camp (due to last minute change of plans), I did meet up with the group and hang out. Plenty of space to spread out. Great for the primitive set ups. The treeline was the place to be for the chilly nights/mornings. I would camp here in the future. I have a small off-road camper and the site has great access for that. A few small off-roading campers and tents are perfect. No big rigs.

The property is beautiful and Chris accommodated my daughter and myself for a perfect family camping excursion while balancing hosting several off-road vehicle enthusiasts. Chris was sincere in providing the experience we were looking for and exceeded expectations. 100% recommend Not rugged, distributed camping, but a great basecamp for activities in the nearby National Forest and absolutely perfect for introducing camping to young explorers. 10/10 highly recommended

It is a beautiful piece of property, very peaceful and relaxing. There is a lot of activities to do in the area or you can just sit back ans relax and enjoy nature.

Great Spot for Base Camp

Basecamp Uwharrie
Our group enjoyed everything about our stay at Chris’ property!!! Chris greeted us as soon as we arrived(a little bit early but no problem). He told us all about the property and nearby amenities. We, myself included, had a few first timers tackling the trails in nearby Uwharrie. There is an entrance less than a mile down the road and the El Dorado outpost is across the street. We plan on returning soon and would highly recommend others stay here as well!!!
