The Rocky Knoll sits on about two acres of wooded land on a knoll with a breathtaking view of the mountains. Bring your family, pet and your tent to enjoy this beautiful secluded campsite which is conveniently located to Hanging Rock State, Pilot Mountain State Park, Belews Lake and Winston-Salem. This land has been in the family for many, many years. We just love the solitude on the Rocky Knoll and wanted to share it's beauty with others who enjoy nature.The Rocky Knoll is a beautiful, secluded little haven to sit and enjoy a magnificent mountain view. Gather around with your family for a nice evening fire in the provided fire pit. Pitch a tent on our 12 x 12 tent mound and enjoy nights in the country. Or bring your RV with a maximum length of 22 ft. Two picnic tables are provided for your outdoor dining. We do not have electricity or running water at this time. But, we do offer what we call the “Poop Shed” as a primitive toilet. But if you prefer you may bring your own camp toilet, The Rocky Knoll is conveniently located 7 minutes away from Walnut Cove, 20 minutes away from Winston-Salem and about 25 minutes away from Hanging Rock, Pilot Mountain and Belews Lake. There is a Frisby Golf course 9 minutes away too. Pets are allowed but please keep on a leash and clean up after them.. We do not live on the property but we are about 5 minutes away in case you need anything.

Great Spot
The Rocky Knoll is an awesome place! At night, all you could hear was the wildlife which we really love. The views were great! I can imagine once the leaves start falling that they’re even better. They provided tons of firewood and the campsite was really clean. The sand pit provided to pitch your tent was a nice touch. Our pup had ample space to run around and chase squirrels. We hope to make it back with some friends next time!

Great campsite! Clean facilities, and plenty of space. We loved the decor and the poop shed. Perfect for a relaxing weekend in nature. Would definitely come back!

The Rocky Knoll
Booked a last minute night in the woods and was not disappointed at all!! This place is amazing. We pulled in later than we had wanted to after dark but it was easy enough to find and the site layout was great. Woke up to an awesome sunrise! We will definitely be back again.

absolutely gorgeous camping site
we absolutely loved the rocky knoll! very peaceful and close to town but also far enough! plenty of places to hang hammocks, the little bench facing the mountains was top tier. I'd definitely recommend this site to anyone!

Great Experience!
We truly enjoyed this site. It was quiet enought to feel remote and still close enough to Hanging Rock SP and great cell service if needed. The sunset was amazing and the "Poop Shed" was quite an experience (good experience, I don't want to ruin the suprise). We will be back!!

The Rocky Knoll
A beautiful location with a wonderful view. The site is well chosen and well laid out. Due to the weather we weren't able to take advantage of the firepit and the stocked wood, but they were appreciated. While it's an easy drive from a number of local cities, it feels like you're a million miles away.
